Kouji listened, and he stopped to think about it, ruminated on those words, just what was his weakness? Everytime he found one, two more reared their heads, everytime he worked to fix them, another paralyzed him.

The only thing he could do was sigh as he took the thumbdrive, it had what he sought on it, but not what he needed. It didn’t matter, he had a job to do; he took in a deep breath before he looked back at Cillian, a mirrored smirk. But his eyes only showed exhaustion.

”Aye, leave it to me, make sure to keep a surplus of body bags around.” His cocky tone carried him out of the room, he had gotten some of what he wanted out of this conversation, but he had far more questions.

Inviting his enemy out for a meal was not how Kouji expected the day to come, maybe it came from a place of contempt, to watch the man he disliked squirm, but he hadn’t considered a rather simple fact. He would have to take part in it too, that was the issue with the steaming hot plate in front of him, the deep red colour in front of him.

”Ahahaha…” A pyrrhic victory, that was what he was going to get at best at the end of the day.

He ran a hand through his hair, Mapo Tofu, it was something he liked at a lower intensity. ”You good with spicy food, would hate to see ya cry, Harcourt.” He said as he leaned back in his chair for a moment.

Working in the security detail of a singer was difficult.

But it sure did pay good, he kept a mask on his face to cover the lower half as if he was holding off a cough. He looked over his shoulder; the singer was in that room, right? He turned on his feet, to head back out; the ball wasn’t a risk, and a path was found, it was just a matter of seeing what would come after this, but he wasn’t the man to ask for that job, for that task.

Kouji ran a hand through his hair as he looked back over his shoulder, the heat had grown intense, heavy, murky; the pokemon on that end would be a huge problem to someone, he just hoped he would get to dig his teeth into that battle. For now, they had no choice but to retreat; they couldn't pursue this path any longer.

Greninja was faster to block the pokemon’s metal claw aimed at his back. Extrasensory blocked the pokemon midway, shooting it backwards, following it with various water shuriken.

It was going to attack the pokemon, even if it wasn’t the most powerful strike, but it provided a constant barrage that kept them at bay, they didn’t have that much time to be wasting in this place. Kouji understood that, they’d get overrun with time, and so he sought something different, something bigger.

”Oi, future bitch, let’s get outta here.”

He said as he called to her, he had the exit path sorted out, and Greninja was ready to begin the following move.

But it was Sableye, throwing out his phantom force, the other side of that hole was Sootopolis.

”Or ya can just stay here, don’t blame me.”

”You never know, I’m pretty suave, maybe Cillian might just break my neck if I turn it up.” Said the virgin.

Still, he was rather unsurprised by Temp stating that, it wasn’t that he expected it, but rather that he could see the man battling alongside him being so vicious in a battle, especially over something so precious.

”Haaa, you guys are relationship goals, I want a girlfriend that’ll stab a chick for flirting with me.” He said with a bright smirk.

”Greninja, dive in deep, smokescreen; make it hard for them to coordinate. Let’s pull back a bit.”

”I’ll make that world even if I’m too weak to exist in it.” His voice was even.

Kouji shrugged.

”Ain’t nothing against them, I just want a world made for me, right now we live in one where anyone can survive and thrive except people who can only live by striving towards strength, I just want to reverse that.” He oversimplified, it would take far too long to explain it.

Kouji laughed.

”Where’d ya want me to start? Underboss, great fighter, avatar of Lugia? Veteran of Kanto?” He listed them out, Kouji didn’t really miss a beat when it came to that. ”Ya might find it easy cos you get to see his balls a bunch, but most of us only get to see the other end of the blade.”

”Not like it matters, I like Cil, not sure if he’s hot on me, guy’s hard to read.” He said as he watched the battle play out.

Minimal direction, he only needed to give orders here and there, the battle would play out, but at the same time it could extend to the end of time if they continued to throw in waves.

Granite caves, a treacherous place full of Gibles, Gabites and Garchomps, in a sense it brought back memories of a chase, and the fight that had made him the man he was in that moment, cementing his ideals in finality. His fingers briefly brushed over the hard granite that covered all four walls, its ancient surface weathered by centuries of existence. Bits of dust impacted his head, an indication of the conflict heating up above.. The earth quaked beneath his feet, a deep rumble that resonated through the very core of his being, a tremor felt even from this far down in the bowels of the earth.

The dragon by his side, Druddigon was prepared, Kouji was prepared, it was just a matter of doing it, of rising through the earth like a soaring dragon, he held onto the back of the dragon just as it began to charge upwards, its claws sharpened by every strike against the dirt above, forcing it to part ways until it hit against cement itself. ”We’re in the final third.”

His foes were going to be strong, he knew just how strong Navy was, but the other? He had survived against that man. Isaac Merlo was someone he didn’t really understand, but he understood the warrior whose gym it was, who was the one defending this city; the hospital that existed here.

The only reason he could be here was trust, the trust that one would survive, and the trust that one would defend.

Druddigon broke through, draconic claws parting the middle of the battlefield, rocking it upwards and apart, Kouji stood on the back of his dragon who had just swam through the ground like it was the sea. Kouji didn’t say anything, his eyes scanned for a second as the sandstorm was parted for only an instant, giving him a proper overlook on the battlefield.

”Hydreigon, all out.” He pulled out his pokemon, the dark dragon, its obsidian scales shimmering with malevolent power, immediately conjured a pulsating ball of crackling energy between its three menacing heads. With a deafening roar, it unleashed this arcane orb, sending it hurtling upwards with unrestrained fury. The impact against the towering ceiling was explosive, shattering stone and releasing a cascade of shimmering blue meteors that rained down like an otherworldly storm, each one carrying Hydreigon’s unrestrained wrath.

Alolan Raichu, it was a fast pokemon, exceptionally fast; Kouji knew he had no pokemon faster than it, but switching was going to be asking for trouble, there was nothing else to give. ”Hey, Mandibuzz. Die for us.” He told his pokemon before he leapt from her back, sending her forward before he landed on his Roaring Moon who appeared from his pokeball.

Landing on his back, the pokemon took off higher into the air as Mandibuzz went into a charge. Using Punishment, putting his life on the line for the sake of a victory against the pokemon who held a natural advantage against it, he knew it couldn’t take another electric type move.

”We’re not letting her die, move the moment she strikes, we’ll pull her back.” He said as he grabbed his pokeball, such a loyal pokemon shouldn’t be something he could risk on losing, she had passed the ‘test’.

”Hey, Connors, what’re you fighting for. I don’t wanna kick your ass without knowing why.”
