Walking would just take a while, so Kouji brought out his Sableye, the door opened in the air; Phantom Force, a way to move between two places he had grown fond of, the other side was the old Sootopolis gym, now a place of disrepair.

”stay by the side, we’ll go back at some point. You’re up Dracovish.” The pokemon looked at his trainer before moving forward, the dragon type seemed to be ready for a brawl, and so was Kouji.

”Think things out, maybe look at a new way to give orders. Cillian Quinn uses clicks, I use predetermined routes, but that ain’t something to try on the spot.” Kouji looked over the field, now filled with cracks, this would do just well.

”You start, I’ll give ya tips as we go.”

It made sense, doing it on foot. A pokemon that could be rode upon was something that could be seen, seperating made sense.

It didn’t make his blood pump, but he wasn’t here for fun. Kouji gave a curt nod as he looked out into the battlefield, staring out at the group. ”It’s really dangerous in there, ran into some Heatran with Flint back in the caves.” It was why they had to pull back, the challenges wouldn’t stop so easily.

Kouji waited, waited, and when the sign was given, he gave a sprint towards the nearest rock, and then to another, and then finally to another. But, it wasn’t just the eyes of people one had to watch out for, but for the other sights that Pokemon were capable of, being able to sense vibrations beneath the earth, the earth itself began to shake heavily.

”Nothing can just be simple, can it.” He said with a sigh before a dugtrio appeared before him. ”It might be time to fight, it should give ‘em time.” He said as he brought out his own Scrafty.

”I’ll apologize later.” Scrafty began with a beat up, shadow’d versions of himself appeared to push back the Dugtrio.

This was fine, Kouji was happy with this kind of result, to be underestimated made his job a lot easier, but the same couldn’t be said for Roaring Moon, only held back by his trainer's hand.

”Let’s go fast, begin with Path Arc.” He told his pokemon, who did just that, hanging on was tight with these tight but confusing turns to attack his enemy at high speed. Acrobatics, it wasn’t comfortable, but it was a consistent and relatively risk free way to close the distance to his opponent.

”I’ll try, don’t you worry about that one. But you could just turn around, make it easier on us both.” He said with a smirk, regardless, he’d have fun with a battle against a strong foe.

Kouji looked over his shoulder and nodded, stalling? That was something he could do with ease, it was time to kick this up to maximum gear then, the terastal crystal that he held in his hand began to glow brighter and brighter, empowering Tyranitar, turning it into the Dragon Type.

It was a shift that the now dragon type needed to keep up in this fight, and it charged forward with now enhanced speed, setting forward a screech, heavily lowering the Iron Jugulis’ defence, the ice was able to spread at even greater speed now, while Absol avoided by using a detect which naturally lead into a sucker punch towards Iron Thorns.

It was a balance, stalling, you didn’t have to win, you didn’t have to stick your neck out, all you had to do was engage, he had thought he knew it before, but he only really began to understand it during his fight against Greyson.

Kouji was confident in his ability to waste time.

”Rock Slide.” Better to stop the onslaught here.

That made sense, Kouji could understand that much easily enough as he patted Duraludon on the side.

If they were going to take it easy for a moment, he didn’t mind explaining. ”Hmm…Guess I’ve always been part of it in some way, my family was super involved, I’ve been playing on the edge since I was a brat, back in Kanto…So, my family at first, but they’re all dirty traitors.” He said as he spat onto the floor, he recollected himself really quickly.

”For the glory of rocket? Originally that was it, but I want to use it to create a world where weaklings can’t survive.” He said with brutal honesty, he shrugged as he said it before he smirked.

Blood pumping battles were always going to be something that Kouji was fond of, but he couldn’t indulge, let them hang around until it became a danger to his side, he’d experienced indulgence and its dangers.

Tori was fast, the kind of battlefield partner that was sought after; Kouji’d had worse, so this time around he didn’t want to lose out as Druddigon was ready, their opponents were those apt in underground battles, Steelix and a Orthworm stood before them, others most likely ready too, the trainers beside them were ready.

The Steelix was the first to take the blow, a solid close combat chipped away at its armor, and Druddigon was quick to follow, following behind with a powerful Crunch, enhanced by its ability; biting into the Orthworm, and refusing to let go, like its jaws had been locked into place.

”Gotta say, this makes for good stress relief.”

It wasn’t a bad thing.

Kouji tried to tell himself that as Hideo spoke, to help others, to protect them, but there was something that really grinded his gears about it, maybe it was the way he spoke, maybe it was what the boy wasn’t saying, but it really bothered him.

”You’re a kid, you might be a strong kid, but you’re a kid. You should be worrying about other things.” He ran a hand through his hair, he was only a few years older, but it still bothered him that things were put in such a manner.

But back onto the Pokemon battle, Absol struck the Orbeetle, his Psycho Cut did little but that was fine, the pokemon dashed forward; his horn growing darker by the second to deliver a night slash, it would be a stronger strike than just the psycho cut.

Whereas Kommo’o used this opportunity to begin his dance, it was a battle dance that caused its scales to shake against once another, then to gradually fall off, it was a high pitched noise for a moment before it completed its Clangerous Soul

”Leave that to the incompetent adults, you should just chase your dream or something.”

It was a cycle, use one move, use the one they were weak to, throw a pokeball.

It continued for a while until he could feel the exhaustion of his own pokemon in that moment, seeing it struggle to stay conscious but then it was done, the Kecleon were dealt with, Kouji could feel the smirk on his face.

”Remind me to never go on a ghost hunt again, and if I suggest it, slap me.” He said with a neutral tone, he disliked them, he didn’t want to have to do any of them again.

There was always something stupid behind them.

”But we should be done, we’ve got a buncha nice pokemon for Rocket.”

”Mah, I’ve thought this a bunch of times, but you’re strong. Not in the kickass way, but in the mental way. If I could kill who I needed to kill while staying myself, I’d be in a way better place.”

It was almost as if he was venting, but the smile on his face showed that he didn’t particularly feel bad about it either, there was admiration that danced in his eyes for a moment. ”Well, no point crying over spilt milk. I’ll clean up the traitors around me, guess my family’s probably first.” He said with a stretch as he stood up.

It wasn’t those that left him behind that he struggled to kill, it was the person who became a traitor and stayed by his side, his father. The man sitting in a hospital courtesy of Kouji, that was his first target.

”Anyone you’ve got an eye on at the moment, I’m feeling in a hunting mood.” Seeing such dedication to Rocket in front of his eyes was always going to get him into a mood, he needed to go further. Dedication alone wasn’t going to do it, he needed to push past that.

It was a dramatic finish, but the fight wasn’t going to end so simply as the Roaring Moon was felled; Flutter manes took his place to soar in the sky, but Kouji smirked, it didn’t matter.

”Nostalgic, ain’t it. Been a while since we’ve had to fight a hoarde.” But he was a different person now, and she was in a different position, it wasn’t the same. Childhood’s end, everyone’s childhood would have to end, it was just that this place, this region wouldn’t allow those with strength to have theirs.

He’d seen it, in his place, with Navy, and even with Eris, it wasn’t something that could be allowed. Childhood was an evil, and this pokemon represented that better than others, Flutter Mane.

”Metal Sound, keep it going.” He shouted as his Bisharp took point, to protect them from the onslaught of attacks.

”I ain’t promising anything, especially if salt water gets in my eyes.”

A light which purified hearts.

Roaring Moon which was born of a terrible future, full of terrible intentions, born of dark thoughts. It had never stood a chance when struck with it square on the chest, it was a blast that propelled it backwards, and Kouji clean off his back as he retracted the pokemon back into his pokeball, such an impact would just be unnecessary pain that wasn’t worthwhile.

The pokemon that took its place might as well have been its twin, Salamence flapped his wings loudly in the air underneath Kouji, catching his trainer. He released a roar, a wave of intimidation passed through the air, already ready to see bloodshed, but it paused for a moment, its fighting spirit wasn’t being mirrored by his trainer.

A long sigh, Kouji knew that he couldn’t play around, he knew that his opponent wasn’t playing around either. He had decided to fight, so he needed to. There really was only one path to this wasn’t there, he wouldn’t squander this second life after that dream he had lived in.

”I’m really glad you’re alive.”

But that didn’t soften his claws, as the Dragon breathed out a hot stream of flames, white at the base.

”So make sure you don’t die.”

Unfairable odds was just the way that Kouji liked it, but not foolish ones. He didn’t want to make a scene, but more importantly, he had no interest in blowing up his hardly fought for spot. ”I didn’t go through a terrible break up, so I’m doing pretty well.” He said with a snort, but it wasn’t Isaac that had his attention after that point, it was the brat.

”Tch.” His mood soured quickly as he detached himself from the group, there was some hubbub, but seeing his own failure in front of him would sour even his mood; but he had a task to do, just as he had told himself with Isaac Merlo, Kouji looked over at the Abomasnow, and the leg it had found. He was a knife man at his core, but that wasn’t the kind of clean cut he expected from a weapon.

”Doesn’t look like it even took a second, is that a chick’s leg?” He pondered for a moment, his voice was even as he looked at it, standing in a squat, keeping carefully balanced with all of this muck around. The previously shined shoes, and pressed pants were now covered in splotches of mud.

”It’s not like we’ll find out much, unless one of ya is good with medicine, better to keep moving or else the fear’ll get ya.” He said as he stood up straight once more, taking in a deep breath he went for his pokeball to pull forth his Umbreon, who looked around with a sniff before sighting the leg.

But Kouji walked back towards Tempest, patting his shoulder; might as well stay near someone familiar.
