That was a smart call, Kouji understood that much, so he switched back his Weavile; he slapped his cheek to get himself back into the core of what their mission actually was, with this boost from the Tailwind.

He pulled out his knife, a crystal on the back began to glow as his Absol began to change. Cillian was right, it was a matter of fighting, Tailwind would deal with the mist, he’d just have to do his part. Mega Evolution, but he wasn’t done yet as Absol jumped across the rocks placed, energy gathering around his limbs, the first strike was on Iron Thorns, he used a close combat, attack after attack laid into the rock form of the pokemon ahead of him, the speed boost given by the tailwind only made it harder to react to.

Tyranitar only prepared in the back, a heavy screech eminated from his armor as he began to move, loosen himself up, it was almost like a dance, a dragon dance that he used to prepare for the upcoming battle, taking himself to higher heights.

”That Iron Jugulis is going to be a pain in the butt.” Just as he had said that, a powerful wave of heat shot back towards them, as if trying to keep the Interdream mist where it was but it was a losing battle, so it switched towards using a hyper beam

Surging strikes was right, it wasn’t the first time Kouji had seen that form of Urshifu, Navy had Shuwen, Qing’s twin brother, but this was the first time he had witnessed the pokemon change.

Qing hadn’t expected it either, it was a surge of strikes, that continually flowed into one another; like a flood, overwhelming his Urshifu until he was thrown back, it was a powerful blow. He didn’t know what this Phenomenon was, but Kouji couldn’t afford to hold back in this moment as Urshifu was thrown backwards, skipping across the sand before he landed flatly on his back.

Kouji was distracted by that sight, his enemy had returned with a new amount of vigor, the blow landed solidly; the force was enough to kick the air out of his lungs. His feet left the ground, before he was shot upwards, land on his back, and skip against the ground.

That was one hell of a blow, that was all Kouji could think about in that moment, he felt the blow that took the life out of him. His head was swimming from a lack of oxygen, he knew that if he closed his eyes, he wouldn’t open them for days.

He felt a rumbling from his side, Urshifu lifted himself onto his feet, punching down at the sand, as if the vibrations of the blow were supposed to wake Kouji up. He couldn’t fall behind his own Urshifu, could he now?

He forced himself back to his own feet, with such a strong blow to his body, he couldn’t depend on outlasting his opponent, Kaz was strong. No. ”Let’s not play around either, they’re strong.” He took out his knife, a crystal embedded in its base which shone in a myriad of colors, an empowering rainbow.

Mega Evolution, the phenomenon that pushed his Urshifu to the next stage, power surged out of each of his pours, red energy blew the sand into every direction. The force of wind that blew outwards seemed to suck back in, as the energy spiralled around his fist, the sand did the same, before he stepped forward and shot the G-Max One Blow at his brethren.

Kouji looked at the knife in his hand, before he shook his head, stocking it away again, he was going to finish this one with his fist. He stepped forward, hinted at kicking down at Kaz’ shin, before he lowered his hip, and kicked at the man’s throat.

It was a powerful thunder that struck Mandibuzz, Kouji was rocked off its back for a moment, Mandibuzz seeing the strike well before her trainer did, smoke plumed from her feathers before she arc’d down to catch him. It was obvious that the attack had done a huge number on her, it was super effective.

But it used the same move again, with the effect of Lock-On active, she copied the Thunder, a powerful shot of lightning fell from the sky. ”Think you can handle some more?” He asked her with a smirk, he hadn’t expected her to survive the last strike, let alone return it.

It seems he had underestimated his own pokemon.

”It’s going to use Lock-On again, so best of luck.”

Kouji gave a thumbs up to Temp, but now they had bigger fish to fry, when it came to sea battles?

It was better to er on the side of caution, the sea was as much their enemy as the approaching pokemon, when it came to water types he could consider reliable, it would have to be the two he called up.

”Keep up? I should be the one saying that.” He said with a smirk plastered on his face, a battle was coming up, it was easier for their opponents, but the two of them had cargo to make sure to protect.

”Dracovish, Greninja, let’s go all out now. Can’t let some pretty boy show us up.” He told his two pokemon, the ninja danced across the water in an elegant manner, joining in adding spikes to make it more difficult for their opponents.

It was Dracovish who dived in deep, lying in wait before coming out from behind the Gyarados with a powerful crunch.

It wasn’t a bad instinct.

The option wouldn’t always exist, but Kouji could acknowledge the will to survive in that; no point in pride if someone just died. He nodded slowly, before he looked down at Serizawa’s growl, it was an adorable sight, but even this little guy could beat him in a fight.

”Think the little guy wants to fight. But…You need more options, Sand is great, and Tyranitar can facilitate it. But, this little guy’s got a little while before that. I’d bring mine out, but I have no interest in cleaning up sand for the rest of the day.” He said as he stretched.

”Now, if I were up against a team that uses sandstorms, I’d bring a water type. If I were using a sand team, I’d bring this guy.” He said as he brought out Dracozolt, his hadn’t made use of its secondary ability just yet.

”Water ain’t gonna be able to handle this guy, and he’s a dragon, a living fossil that some guy had released, too many are out in the world now.” It was the worst kind of taint, but he wasn’t a guy digging up dinosaur bones.

”If we move, I’ll show you different tactics. Can’t really go that hard in the submarine, can we?” He said with a smirk before he squatted down to pet Serizawa’s head.

Kouji had been aware of the Heatrans that could be found in this place ever since he had surveyed with Lulu Flint, but this was becoming problematic at this point. They were an exceptionally rare Pokemon, added to that was their power.

”What a pain in the ass.” He said as he spun on his feet, Makoto and Tempest had already begun to face them, he and his Iron Jugulis naturally had to back them up. He looked to his pokemon, figuring out just what to do with him, it wasn’t opportune, and it wasn’t ideal.

So he had to use his mind.

”Air Slash, but aim for our side’s water attacks.” To carry them with even more force; wasn’t there some kind of thing about water being able to split a rock eventually if it was going fast enough? He couldn’t remember, that kind of braniac thing was best left to others. ”Again, keep going.”

They’d hold them up eventually, Kouji was sure of that much, he had confidence in his side.

Working with Bryan was comfortable, Kouji had to admit that much; he was one of his superiors that was easy to get along with.

”Bryan. Good, we need ya fresh, leave the tough parts to me, you’re one of Rocket’s ace in the holes.” Tiring the other side, while keeping their stronger ones fresh, it was a simple tactic.

It was still quiet, even with the supplies, Bryan was helping Duraludon along, and Kouji only nodded at the sight.

”Ain’t found nothing out, you know what we’re trying to look for here?”

As Cillian spoke, ideas brewed within Kouji’s mind, but it was too early to speak of them, not before he had given them the right room, and time, he didn’t want to embarass himself twice in this conversation.

It was tough, the resources were there but they weren’t infinite.

But that one had been a surprise to Kouji, Rowan Wrynn, one of the defectors he’d heard a fair bit about, to know that they were related to Underboss Quinn.

”I won’t.” He replied, it was curt, quick, but there was something in Kouji’s eyes, they narrowed a bit as he looked at Cillian, wondering just what went through that man’s mind as he said that.

Could he do the same thing? Unflappingly, completely?

There was no point in wondering, Kouji just had to ask the other man, he leaned back in his chair.

”Could you do it? Kill your own family?” It was a simple question, but there was a tinge of hesitation before asking it; Kouji gave little moments before he followed up on it with the second.

”How do you bring yourself to do it?” He had hesitated at the last moment, not just for his family, but towards his friend just as well. He couldn’t kill his father, and he couldn’t kill Eris Halla.

To Kouji they might as well have been a distant fable, he had only heard of them, never truly seen them. ”Just as many, and they could all be our enemies. Doesn’t matter, we’ll have to fight them no matter what.” He said with a shrug, he hadn’t seen them with his own eyes, it was easy for him to say such a thing.

”But if shit really is infinite, then they’ve got an infinite amount of problems to deal with, and so they’ll be too busy to come to us.”

He thought about it some more, Kouji wished he understood more about these other worlds, or of science in general, but they were things that went over his head. He’d have to deal with that at one point in time, but not at this time.

”I wonder what another universe version of me is like? I guess I’ll never have to think about that crap.” He said with a shrug just as a caw came in, a Wingull quickly swiped to grip his plate in its feet.

Others followed in its wake, and Kouji grit his teeth.
