We can’t really guess why, but one of his pokemon is there, so I recommend taking the Pokeballs and all.” He gave the answer for that. Kyle’s pokemon, it might have been crushed, pokeball and all, but he wanted to hold out hope.

So, he kept his expression neutral. ”Too many for us to deal with, so we withdrew. But, they’ll be switching soon, we can take it, and wait for back-up to arrive to keep it.” He had gotten a call on it, and so he would, he’d take it back.

”Don’t worry, I might be a no-name punk, but I can handle myself in a pokemon battle, so let that anxiety die down a bit.”

Jett wasn’t one for small talk; his extended hand retracted at the lack of a sign of taking it. The man across from him was…He couldn’t put a word to it, he couldn’t place his finger on it, but there was something there, something different. He was skilled at reading people, not like some others he had met, but he felt the confidence that rolled off this person. Still, Jett found something amusing, as he took out his chocolate cigarette. ”We might fit in with the bees, but they’ll be more interested in our fake cigarettes…Tryna quit too?”

Between the pocky he kept around, and the chocolate cigarettes, he understood that part, a common point, a path of friendly communication. He found an olive branch, and so he took it even if it hadn’t been meant as one.

”Jam. I’m Jett, feel free to call me Jett.” His smirk was there as he patted the head of his Cyclizar. ”He’ll be the one taking us out there, his name is Bubby.” Introductions were done, the two would have been ready to roll out, and so Jett got on before he looked over his shoulder. The path in front of them, the wooden bridge, and the grass almost as tall as a house were seen beyond that.

You couldn’t hide it, the mix of delight and horror; it was something that you were aware of and yet surpressed more than anything else, you didn’t pay attention to the voice that told you to stop them, you couldn’t get yourself to. It was a sight that was beautiful, not because you were delighted in horror, but because you understood.

The relief that you could only feel from being unshackled, no longer stopped by things such as norms, and so you didn’t stop your Cyclizar, Bubby, who had struggled alongside you, had done better than you; had finally been given his chance, and so you didn’t hold him back. Even as every voice in your head told you otherwise, as an external voice told you otherwise, you hid the smile finally, but it was too late.

Instead, Bubby was done, blood dripped from its jaw; its nails, covered his entire form as he looked to you. His eyes fixed into place; scanning the humans, it wasn’t the eyes of one who saw you as allies, but merely as those who could be eaten, its next meal. The eyes of a predator. You didn’t back down however, your Remoraid pointed at him like a gun, he understood; a single shot of the critical strike your Lucky was so fond of was enough to end this dispute, it was calm, chilled.

That was when the high pitched sound of a teleport echoed in your ear, called you back into the present. ”Good work. All of you.” You called them back into their pokeballs, all except for Bubby who rolled up to your side, rubbing against your pant leg like a dog, and rubbing the blood against you.

It might have looked like a cute sight, but you knew better, they were like that. Bubby, Lucky, Bricket, and those you didn’t bring along. They weren’t looking for affection, but to make you remember, the bloodbaths that you called home, and the terrible actions that you took, trained them to take, so that you might do so again, so they might enjoy life again.

But you weren’t interested in such a thing, you never would be again, because it would make her cry. You shook your head as you clasped the bags onto Bubby once more, Cyclizar seemed ready to continue on the road, the road littered with the destroyed corpses of what were your enemies.

”We’re good to go. I hope that didn’t make you want to throw up your food. Stuff like that gets him…Too excited, and stopping him ends up worse for us.” An excuse, you knew it, and you knew that was true for everyone else too.

”Stop yapping so loudly, dog.” He said as the barrel of gun began to smoke, there was no mirth in his voice; the only thing he felt was self derision, he hated it, this action he had taken, but there was no other choice for him to make. ”Alright, fuck it.” He took a pokeball from his pocket, and threw it up into the air, it was his Blastoise, a bigger, stronger pokemon of his.

It lacked the poise of what one would expect from a Crawdaunt, its eyes were locked onto his prey, a powerful pokemon, from the days in which he had been a simple water type trainer, ready to drown his competition, a water/dragon type. Honedge had been a gift, from a friend he had killed with that same pokemon…

Just taking that shot had opened up such memories, but it didn’t matter, it wouldn’t matter, not tonight. ”Dance.” He spoke to his Pokémon which used Sword's Dance, it’s body growing tougher as energies started to coalesce from it; as it rubbed its claws against one another.

”Don’t regret this Hitoshi-Chan. I’m about to have fun for the first time in a year…So you’ll be a casualty of it, alright?” He took the glasses from his face, able to see the man properly for a while, a smile that reached his eyes, that was the first time he could remember one.

He really wasn’t fit to live in society was he?

Bees, pokemon bees, Jett was more than happy to take a mission like this; a helping hand, a guide to guide someone else. That was fine, he was more than satisfied for something like that, the complaints in the local town were large, Foretree was a natural town, surrounded by nature and that in of itself provided issues.

Like the current aggression of the Combee, which he hadn’t expected, but then again, they would simply have to deal with it as it came. ”You’re my partner for the day, yeah?” He said as he uncrossed his arms, his expression was neutral, his eyes hidden behind the dark tint of his glasses.

”We’re going out ‘ta route 119, there’s the long grass, but we’ll be fine if we’re smarter.” He said as he looked at the man across from him, his hand extended for a handshake. ”Nice to meet’cha.”

”We’ll just have to see.” He said as his eyes landed on the guardsman, the two of them could handle this, with Cyclizar; he didn’t feel like he could lose to anyone. His pokemon was strong, but beyond that, there were others that he could call on just as well. His eyes closed, he took in a deep breath.

”Well, I have a couple of options, but you’re up first, Garlette.” His scyther took to the air the moment she was released from her pokeball, rubbing her scythe-like limbs against one another as the two rocket men stepped up, to stop them from getting through. But that initiative was important, a quick, and dirty sword’s dance that would open up the doors for her.

”Shift gears buddy.” He whispered lowly, but the rest was going to be up to Kyle. ”We’ll win, and decide what we do after. You’re still on for that meal right?” His voice was jovial, it was a disrespect in some ways, but that was fine as his Scyther began her acrobatics just as two pokemon came out of their pokeballs.

A medicham, and a Gyarados came to see the light, the latter released a large roar across the space.

You couldn’t quite hold back as you saw the sight in front of you, a powerful mixture of attacks; and that was perfectly fine, a strong enough strike to end all of this, that was the thing you sought, and that was the thing expected of you. You looked forward, and looked forward to it, the movement of your pokemon, the breath of them, and the following movements, everything beat in your head like an instinct.

That was why the choices were straight forward.

”Lucky, use Ice beam.” You spoke to the fish that had taken up residence within your palms, your Remoraid. She released a beam of cold, a rush of ice, that froze the air that it crossed past, and even the cloud of smog that had made it difficult to breath, that which filled up their lungs, and even more. You saw it, but only the cold feeling that lingered on your finger remained in your mind, a numbing feeling, just as you saw the final resolution.

”Cyclizar, Crush them.” The dragon that you called your mount roared loudly, a powerful voice from its lungs just as it charged forward, draconic energy converged at its claws as it slashed the air, the power it had gained from the shifting of gears, the speed of it, all of it was great.

You were taken away once again, like falling in love for the first time, as Bubby took to the air and fell down like the predator he was, his teeth, and claws were poised to rip and tear; softened by the flames, hardened again by the ice, it was something else entirely.

Their skin cracked on contact, one released a discharge, but the right of a dragon was to look down on the lesser elements which danced along his skin, it caused his muscles to spasm, to tense, but it would not cause him any great harm as he slashed at the offender, his claws dug deeply into his skin.

You were taken away by it, but you knew just as well, that it wouldn’t stop until they were dead. He was unlike yourself, you who had changed your path, and Bubby, who you had dragged into the depths of bloodshed, and now forced to remain as a ‘normal’ member of society.

”Hey, oi, Bubby. Take it easy.” But it tore, it ripped, and it bit, it was a beast that was finally allowed off its chains. You couldn’t stop him, but you didn’t really want to, a facination, a love, a this was a part of you which you denied, had come to hate, all because of a single dead woman.

One had been taken out, that only left the other really; and Jett was confident that between the two of them they would be able to work this out, as he pointed Remoraid in that direction, focus energy set, locked on, and he felt the pokemon tense tightly in his grip. ”Any time, now how about we wrap this one up too?” He said with a smirk as he spurred on his remoraid, another hydro pump.

It was different to the last, a pokemon who went from middling, to extraordinary based on its own luck. That was why she was called, Lucky, and the blast she shot showed that, a sniper shot that sunk into the joints on its body, and struck the core underneath, a powerful critical hit that struck harder than the usual; a powerful blow that made the Steelix roar loudly, in pain, and it seemed to look back to Jett.

Well, his Remoraid wouldn’t be able to do much for long as the Steelix rushed towards him, but, just as he had told his partner to trust in him, he would trust in her just as well. ”My back is yours.” A smirk on his face as Cyclizar had gotten ready to intervene, but the knowledge he wouldn’t be able to get a real scratch on that monster.

You looked at the sizzle, at the electrocution, and knew that your worries had come to be real, and the pokemon that stood there were without a doubt too confident in their actions. You gritted your teeth at that sight, and reconsidered your current course of action. A look towards your Scyther and Honedge; a click of your fingers. ”Switch.” You had your Honedge take the front, and withdrew your Scyther.

Instead, you went for the pokeball at your hip. ”Ralts, Teleport out for five minutes. Cyclizar Shift gears.” You took action there and then, the electric burst that you saw was worrying. ”I’ll heal your pokemon the moment he’s back.” You said to your ally, a pang of concern ran through you.

But for now, you had no chance but to charge forward as the mechanical noises behind you got louder as your Cyclizar began to accelerate within the spot, the wheels that appeared from its chest and crotch began to turn, and then it finally touched down. Your Honedge took the lead, a sacred sword, a red glow that overtook it as it shot itself forward towards one of the other pokemon.

”Let’s use our strongest attacks, and wipe them out in one go.” Your voice sounded confident even if there wasn’t a lot of reason for you to feel that way. You could see one path out, a tightrope.

You could only see it within your own mind, it was only in your own mind. Sharing a vision, sharing a thought, that was something that you knew was impossible, yet you strived for it always, even in the small moments like this.

”You’ve taken the lead, I’ll make sure to push you, and us towards victory.”

”There was a bit of traffic Hitoshi, sorry for being late.” The smirk on his face hid the discomfort on his face, but there was a difference in the energy he held; it wasn’t just a matter of being stabbed. The dreams he saw, the places he’d been to, the people he’d lost, and the fights he’d been crushed by.

”Don’t worry, I’ll make sure this is as bloody as it gets, as a treat for you.” The cap on his gun fell off, and hit the ground with a clink, his smirk was downright bloodthirsty as he looked down on the man across from him.

”How about it Hitoshi-Chan…Won’t you die for me.” He said as he fired his gun, the explosion of gunfire was far louder than it had any right being.

Jett could feel it; this place was indeed strange, he had seen all manner of strange visions, and he’d seen that strange space too, but that was one thing. ”Shit, you sure?” He said as he gripped another sticky globe, ready to turn another corner and throw it against the ceiling so it could drip down; the drop of stickiness.

But that gave them more space. ”Shit, that sucks. You aight? We’ll get ‘em back later, alongside their pokemon. Might as well free them up, get them to see a new light.” He would need to look at his plan from the ground up again, but they would take it back.

The workings of this cave were still too strange for him, but they’d soon be getting out of here, one or two more turns, and it was freedom.

At least for a little while.

”Sounds like a plan, we’ll do that. I can do with a good meal anyway, I’m starving. Been out here since the break of dawn.” He said as he leaned forward, he knew the tunnels in this place as well as a man could, though his reasons were not particularly good.

”Damn, they’re back up and running huh?” He said as he went into his inner pocket, and pulled out a bang of his own, gripping it tightly until the moment he turned around another corner and threw it backwards, the sound of it was audible as they raced out; entering into a wide cavern once again.

”Not long left, you leave anything behind?” His tone was tinged with amusement, it wasn’t as if there was a chance of him turning around to grab anything around that place.

”We’ll be out in a second, and then it’s preparation to reclaim the rift.”
