His thoughts were scattered s he leaned against a sandbag, a protection against nothing. A snipe shot would tear past it, a fire blast would blow past it and scatter the lot of them. There was really nothing to be done for such a case, but even so; he sat there on the walkie talkie.

”How are things on your end? Anything special to report? I imagine it’s a shitfest no matter where you go today.” Yet his tone sounded full of mirth, as if a single thing wasn’t out of order, and he hadn’t spent the entire day fighting for his life.

Jett didn’t expect that movement, there was a difference in the decisiveness, it wasn’t simply a matter of practice; in that moment where the entire world stopped; where the blade neared him; he could feel it sliding into his skin, hitting his bone, threatening to cut through it, it was jagged, ugly, but that was the moment in which he was saved; he gripped the handle, and pulled himself away in that moment.

Gallade crashed down next to him, a slash across his shoulder that bled, almost as bad as his trainer’s own wound. Jett’s eyes hadn’t left Hitoshi in the slightest however, he couldn’t bare to look at him, but at the same time. ”This isn’t over. I’ll find you later. Teleport.” He felt Gallade put his hand on his shoulder before the two of them disappeared from that place.

This wasn’t worth anything.

But he pulled the knife out from his gut, as if uncaring of the damage; he bandaged himself up, this wasn’t over, he wouldn’t let it end here. He couldn’t let a man run crazy through this caverns, especially around the people he cared about.

”Even if I have to kill him.”

”Shut the fuck up.” It was said as a growl as he went to deflect the knife from his eye, the blade almost stole his sight, but it felt as if he could only see red now, the cut above his right eyelid seeped into his eye, he could feel it; his vision was narrowing, and yet, it felt like his left was the one seeing red.

He attempted to lash out with a kick to immediately follow it, aimed at the waist of his opponent, it would have been an expertly aimed kick were it not for the second of delay that came with the choice of one’s target, the delay that came with rusted movement, it was masterfully stretched, masterfully leaned into, but the execution could not have been worst.

Gallade had a different struggle, it was that of viciousness, it jumped from the wall as if to meet the air slashes with psychocuts, psychic waves that split the air and met each of those moves, exploding into cross shaped waves, one after the other, until he traversed that space, meeting Kleavor in the middle.

His arms began to glow, sharper than sharp could be, a confident cut that would slice one’s confidence into two, that was the Sacred Sword it called its own pride, to meet the Kleavor once more, and it hoped, end the battle.

It was a vicious clash, Jett didn’t know which position to watch, the moment he focused on the blade slashing towards his neck, he felt a leg impact with his gut, and the moment he stopped that leg crushing his temple, he found the blade slashing at his shoulder, it was without a doubt a dangerous series of strikes. He was being overwhelmed, his senses too rusted, his mind too soft, he couldn’t pair up that viciousness, but that would not stop him from trying to.

Gallade had another issue altogether, as he was stuck between the two blades, and used his own to pry them away, to not be split into two; to be struck in a dangerous situation, he allowed himself to be throw the distance, before he slashed with his own arm; sending a psychic cutting wave that stretched the distance.

It sliced the ground and ceiling both as he crashed into the wall, the rocks exploded outwards sending it towards the two battling humans, fighting against an untrained monster like this was beyond what he was capable of handling.

This…Wasn’t how either of them expected it.

Jett didn’t expect this level of…It couldn’t be called viciousness, but it was certainly the kind of thing that couldn’t be called kind. It was almost methodical in its direct brutality, it was clean and yet it most certainly couldn’t be considered comfortable. ”I see.” He said, he understood without talking, he understood without anything moe being said, his eyes narrowed, and that was the singular moment in which he stepped forward.

He stepped forward, and he smashed his gun into the side of the broken sword, and then swung it back around, there was a shift in his movement; it wasn’t merely defensive now. He had started the fight, and hadn’t aimed for a vital point yet, and this one was immediately aimed to drive the butt of his gun into the liver of his opponent.

”If there’s no point, let’s fight.” He said as he tried to ignore the many cuts around his body, the blood that dripped from his forehead, that threatened to blind his right eye.

Fighting a beast, that was what it was. He was an idiot, to equate this man to his younger self was a folly. Jett had been angry at the world, a chip on his shoulder; he had used his emotions as fuels to burn at the world, to kill men and pokemon alike; a battle lust that had sunk into his own pokemon. A rage that permeated his every moment, his every breath, his every action, until it was part of his bones and muscles, a part of the entirety of himself.

Fighting Hitoshi was a completely different thing, he swung his gun at the man, to shoot the blade off from his neck, and then protected his other vital points, his groin, his chest, his stomach, again and again as he was forced onto the backfoot, stepping back with each strike as loud clinks resounded in the air.

It was a battle to the death, and it made his blood pump, he wasn’t a melee man, but he felt himself want to take a pop at this man, to remove the cover; but he stopped himself, held himself still. He could hold back, and stop.

”Tomorrow is all we work for, you fucking idiot. Take your head outta your butthole, and take a look around.” A clink, protecting his eye.

Jett couldn’t help but let loose a frown, it was a simple expression; but all the same it gave away a lot even if his eyes were fixed on the path in front of them. ”Don’t worry, don’t worry. I won’t blame you, I’ll just haunt you as a Ghastly, so make sure to catch me and train me well. I want to be a Mega Genghar at some point.” He used the mirth to bleed off the tension from his shoulders, but he got the permission he needed, they could leave here with comfort, to get into a different place entirely.

”Just winging.” He said as he revved up his Cyclizar, who kicked up a large cloud of dust behind him in order to obscure them before taking a right into a narrow path, in order to loose them, in order to narrow down the pokemon that could chase them. ”We’re loose, so then Sir, where do we go from here.”

And so they raced off.

The attacks were vicious, deep, evil almost; but Jett could understand them in a strange, roundabout, almost cruel way; he wanted to lash out, to kick out, but that would go against the man he was today. He wouldn’t stoop to that level, he couldn’t allow himself too, taking the hits, a shout accompanying it, and that was the issue with it.

He didn’t want to lose, not in the battle, but as a person. ”Because it’s what gives you your future? You think you’ll live through today as you are? Don’t you care about dying?”

It was a simple statement, but he left back in order to create space, cuts on his body, his clothes were torn at, and he seemed more tired for wear, it was a terrible disconnect between the two of them, but he had no choice. He had to stop the man in front of him in some way, he just couldn’t figure out how, so he leapt in again, swinging his gun overhead, like a hammer to crush the skull of his opponent.

Jett did as told, waiting for the Lucario to release his largest move, he charged; his Cyclizar put the pedal to the metal in a moment, a howl as it kicked off the ground cracking it; sending itself soaring forward the moment Kyle hopped on. Jett couldn’t help but to laugh in that moment, a rush of adrenaline that didn’t at all seem fitting for that moment.

”Whoooooooooooooo!” A cheer as Cyclizar popped a wheelie, charging forward, the cave was too strong to collapse in this area here, but they’d reclaim it soon. ”Hey Kyle, give me some extra room. I’ll push to take it back later, aight? I just need out great, glorious, undefeated, Top Champion to vouch for me. I want to take a non-offensive approach.” Speaking of his hopes, dreams, and everything else.

He knew it was childish, silly, pointless, but all the same, he hoped that his friend would let him give it a shot. ”Even if I fail, I’ll take that area back.” His voice was certain of that singular fact.

It was a battle of duplication and teleportation, a battle that might have seemed too fast for the eye to follow, Gallade striking a copy of the Kleavor before teleporting out of the in order to not be struck. It was a continuous dance that didn’t want to end, a powerful dance that seemed more than just a little bit impressive.

”You…” Jett had nothing to say that, a sentence which told him more than he needed to know, far more, and in a way that was fine too. ”Forget your mama, you’re just a lonely guy huh?” Characterizing him in a way only he could, he smashed the butt of his gun against the blade of the sword as if to deflect it, to move it away from him, to protect himself from it, and to protect his opponent from his gun in general.

”I can’t say I’ll convince you. You’re a guy too far gone, but want to stop here?” He asked, a simple question he didn’t want to broach so simply.

A strange question to ask when he had been the one who had baited him here.

Jett didn’t expect his attack to work well, a broken sword was swung in his way, swinging his gun to counter the sword strike; using it like a short tonfa; a weapon he had some experience with, the only reason he had gone with this form of fight. His stance was squared, wide; and the gun held in front of him ready to intercept. Ready to hook the weapon and swing it to his side; his movements were rough, as if he was finally engaging in close combat for the first time in a year.

”Not your skull, just your spirit. Don’t take it personally Hitoshi, there’s these two good looking higher ups I don’t wantcha to ruin. It’s a bit of selfishness, leave that cutie of an idol, and that handsome champion alone, alright.” He said as he spoke of Melody Miro, and kyle lopez, his smirk was big even as he was locked into tight combat. That friend he had managed to reconnect with after so long. A potential friend he could make in the future. It was the ability to finally move on with his life.

Gallade was recently evolved, from the distant Ralts, to the the Gallade it was now, avoiding the fruious swipes with all the best it could before teleporting out of the way towards the ceiling, and dropping down overhead, a sacred slash.

The overtaken rift, the League’s rift, it was a place that he and kyle lopez were forced away from, taken over, and that was the issue. They had lost out on it, now inside of the rift itself, with all the issues and troubles that came with that. Jett ran a hand through his hair, a disappointed sigh in his voice as he looked at the other side. ”We’re going to have to break through as strongly as we can.” His voice had a hint of hesitation to it, there were a lot of rockets there.

”We got forced to flee earlier, you feeling confident? Ready to play a lil’ dirty?” He said as he shook the packet of pocky he had in his hands, bouncing it up and down until two sticks pointed up, one he took into his own mouth, and the other he offered to Grayson.

”A bit of sugar to get the ol’ brain working again.” He said with a smirk, his smile was forced and yet existed in order to disrupt the tense air in the air, he didn’t want to deal with it any longer. Jett would simply have to power through.

Within two sides of this inner space, of this place that followed neither reason nor rhyme, it was only natural that Jett, after running alongside kyle lopez, that he’d end up here. A bit of a jumped up position for someone like himself, for a man who didn’t have any real bearing on the league itself. ”Hey, you on the other side. We’re communicating lines, or something like that.” A disconnected tone, he wanted to be out there on the trenches, saving whoever, and everyone he could. His mind was fixed on the idea of it, so being here, sitting, while he knew logically that it was the better option, he just could not agree with it.

”One of our rift holes were taken over, and we’re not sure how to reclaim it, so we’ll be waiting here on standby. Myself and the Top Champion were overtaken by a wave of Rockets…I’m Jett Roan by the way, some random biker here for a one day paycheck.” He left it with just that, a simple response, a simple answer.
