Hearing Makoto Kurumi ‘s comment on staying all night he nodded in agreement. It was actually nice to have time for himself and take a break from practicing his routines. He waved over the waiter himself ordering a champagne. He wasn’t to worried about getting drunk since he knew his limits. And he wasn’t planning on drinking much anyway.

He watched the game until he heard the announcement for dinner and a show. The idea of a dinner and a show made him curious. ”I’m going to get something to eat. You’re both free to join me of course,” he said as he got up his barely touched champagne still clutched in his hand as he made his way to the Empoleon Room where dinner and a show would be provided. Nebula, his Absol, trailed after him.

Upon reaching the room the idol realized he didn’t currently recognize anyone in the room. Well he recognized the woman who had hosted the party but he didn’t know her. That reminded him that he still hadn’t thanked her for hosting such a party. He supposed now would be as good a time as any while she wasn’t preoccupied.

”Hello, I apologize for the lateness of this but I just wanted to think you for such a lovely party,” he said upon reaching the dark haired woman’s side. He didn’t sit though since he was waiting for rather Josh Devlin and Makoto Kurumi would join him. If they didn’t that would be fine.

”What a beautiful performance,” he said as he momentarily turned his attention away from Yumi Hasegawa to watch the show. There was something mesmerizing about watching the dancers. Though he supposed that was the whole point.

Jade didn’t like his hand. But you lose some and you win some. It would probably be good for him to lose a few hands. Would keep him from standing out. A voice reached him and he looked up upon being addressed. He greeted the gym leader able to recognize him due to his voice.

After Josh was dealt in it wasn’t long until everyone else folded. Hearing his question he shook his head. ”I’m unsure this is my first time here. However I did see a bar over there, unsure if they changed anything,” he said gesturing towards where he had seen the bar.

He would’ve said more as a way of keeping up conversation except he was distracted by someone else joining them. It was someone they didn’t recognize which didn’t phase him. Do to his work as an idol he pretty use to meeting knew people. Luckily the person didn’t seem to be a fan of his.

”Thank you, I like your costume as well,” he told them giving the new person a warm smile. ”I’m afraid I just decided to go for simple. I already had the kimono so I just decided to wear that and purchase some fairy wings. I don’t really need much to stand out,” he explained his dual colored eyes having been fixed on Makoto while he spoke to them.

As Josh explained his costume idea he listened to what he had to say. He wasn’t to knowledgeable about Raikou or his counterparts or any of the legends about the beast. So it was interesting hearing about this kind of stuff. His hand seemed to be getting worse as well so he had to throw in his own cards.

Nebula was still at his feet ignoring the other two Pokémon. The Absol only cared about making sure nothing happened to her human. So he was keeping an eye on all the partygoers. Jade being use to the dark type being like that didn’t even try and interfere.

He listened to what he had to say and nodded. ”I can be eccentric at times. I think doing what others least expect makes me stand out. Though there are times I just want to blend in so in those times I tend to follow the crowd,” he told Niky as he considered if he want to make the song his own or not as he took the copy of the lyrics.

Nightcore/Nightstep it depended on what song they covered rather or not he liked it. Though he supposed that pertained to every person who chose a career in music. Just like he liked some bands more than he did others, usually based on how many of the bands songs he actually enjoyed.

”I’ll go with rock,” he said watching as Niky fiddled with the tunes of the song. He had never really learned how to use that kind of equipment. Which probably wouldn’t be to surprising considering his father. A party at a casino? It had been awhile since he had been to a casino. Part of him was hesitant on going. He knew if he went he would be drawn towards the card games, having become pretty adept at them over the years. Would playing cards ruin the image he portrayed for his fan base. Of course there was no guarantee any of his fans would even notice him.

In the end he decided just to do it. He had put on his costume, his costume consisting of a light blue kimono with a snowflake pattern and some light blue fairy wings with the edges being darker blue. He had coated his face in a light layer of silver glitter to make himself seem more ethereal. It wasn’t real extravagant but it would do. Besides his normal appearance drew enough attention he didn’t have to do much to make himself stand out. So he had decided to go more for something simple that could easily be put together.

He slips inside the casino Nebula, his Absol, at his heels. Upon entering he listens to the hostess speak to them. He took in her appearance committing what she looked like to memory. Perhaps at some point during the night their paths would cross and he would be able to thank her for the party. For now though he was just going to take a look around and see how he could spend his time.

He considered getting a drink but decided he would wait until after he had been at the party for a bit. While taking in the sights he found himself near the card tables. At some point during the night he wanted to do them all. But for now he would start with poker. A few people were already around the table so he made his way over to the table. He dealt the cards after shuffling them since no one else had before looking over his cards and placing a bet.

Hearing what he said he just nodded. They were both well known for a skill they possessed. It something they had in common. Though sometimes he struggled with moderation when it came to practice. Being an idol was everything to him but sometimes he found it hard to step away from practice. These riding lessons were more of a forced brake that he had forced himself to take so he wouldn’t collapse from pushing himself to hard.

The conversation thankfully moved on. And he had to admit he was intrigued with the idea of meeting large Pokémon. ”I think I’ll take you up on that. Eeveelutions are all so cute so it would be interesting to see supersized ones.” And he was sure size wouldn’t change their normal dispositions.

My first was my Absol he has been with me since I was ten, he’s the one I have the strongest bond with,” he said watched as the pokeball stopped moving showing he he had caught the Electrike. Now he would have an Electrike on his team and he was sure Nebula would help her get settled on the team.

Hearing the gym leader speak he turned his attention back to the gym leader. ”Yeah, let’s get my Pokémon first than we can take off,” he agreed. Getting his Electrike and the returned Nebula didn’t take that long. Once he had them they would take to the skies.[break] Josh Devlin

”Everyone has their preferences as well as different things they like to do. Being an idol the kind of Pokémon I choose don’t really matter. Though my fan base does expect me to have Pokémon with a certain aesthetic,” he explained to the younger male. His fan base often wanted him to have cool looking Pokémon or Pokémon that were considered pretty.

Well it was good that to have options. ”Flying seems interesting as well. I don’t mind heights. When I was younger I use to go up to the roof of whatever hotel me and my father was staying in and stare up at the stars. It’ll probably be way different when it comes to flying though,” he said with a low chuckle.

Listening to what he had to say he couldn’t help but be surprised. Super sized Pokémon? This was the first he had heard of something like this. ”Yeah most second-stage Pokémon are too small to make good ride Pokémon,” he agreed before continuing. ”Super size Pokémon must be a sight though. Though I don’t think I would be real capable at dealing with them,” he admitted with a shake of his head.

The fact that they didn’t stay as alpha Pokémon was a surprise. He wondered why the pokeballs and alpha status of pokemon was incompatible. ”Its hard to imagine a Pokémon that big. I think it would be fun to ride though,” he said looking thoughtful.

Hearing what he said he tightening his grip on the older male. It was while they were doing the turn that he noticed something from his peripheral vision making him turn his attention in that direction out of a curious. So focused on seeking out what had caught his attention he missed the older males whoop.

His gaze finally landed on a small island that had an electrike. ”An electrike,” he mused taking the pokeball with Nebula in hand. He tossed the pokeball onto the island causing Nebula to appear. The Absol looked around before immediately sending a night slash towards the electric type.

The electrike retaliated with tackle which hit but didn’t really faze Nebula. His Pokémon than used knock off followed by quick attack. Seeing that electrike was starting to struggle to keep up he threw an empty pokeball at it causing it to get sucked up. Now he would just have to see if the catch was successful.[break] Josh Devlin

This song probably wasn’t one someone like him was expected to pick. However he felt like a song that wasn’t overdone was a good choice. It wasn’t completely forgotten about though. People were still doing covers of the song. He hadn’t really given any thought to listening to the covers of the song though.

Hearing the song had gotten him thinking of the first person who had been kind enough to help him though. Pretty sure he had scared a few years off his life with that meeting though. He had never had to worry about money before, nor had he been truly aware of what it was like to survive on his own. Because of that he had ran out of food and water and had ended up collapsing only to be found by a guy old enough to be found by a middle aged man who gave him food and water, even allowing him to live with him for awhile until he moved on.

”I was think we could take turns signing certain parts, but sing the chorus together,” he said facing the older male. ”Figured the song would be a nice change of pace from songs that people usually do. I know people often lean towards imagine dragons songs, it’s to the point where it’s almost overdone,” he said figuring he would explain his choice of song a bit.

”Yes I can see how that would be hard to overcome. My father was a business man so I was often made to speak a certain way. To endear me to whoever he was working with a the time,” he explained hoping she would understand he understood where he was coming from. His father had been fairly well off as well, so there was that as well.

When speaking of his father there was always a lack of warmth when speaking about the man. He wouldn’t go so far as to say he hated him, but he definitely didn’t like him. His strict way of raising him had been what had drove a wedge in their relationship, that and his fathers inability to accept his dream.

Hearing that she’d started on the gym circuit before coming to Hoenn was definitely a surprise. But he supposed she wasn’t like most royalty he envisioned. ”I hope you don’t take offense to this but you’re not what I’ve always envisioned royalty to be like,” he told her, hoping she would take it as the compliment he intended it to be.

So she probably traveled from place to place. He supposed in a sense he did that as well. He just made sure to make it back to Mossdeep to sleep. ”I see, I assume you travel from place to place than,” he said that being the only reason that he could think of why someone would be staying in a hotel.

He probably should’ve brought something to drink but since his house was nearby he hadn’t seen a reason to. It would still do him some good to take a break before continuing with his practice though. Didn’t really feel like sitting though so he remained standing as he talked to the woman.

When Evette arrived Nebula eyed her before deciding she posed no threat to his partner. There were other people to keep an eye out for. Like those people who tried to cling onto the rising idol. Yes those people were the ones to look out for. He sensed nothing like that from the woman so he saw no point of alerting Jade to her presence.

Jade unaware of the others presence just continued his dance routine. It wasn’t until he was done and had turned around that he noticed the woman’s presence. A slight widening of his eyes was the only sign of his surprise and he shot a cursory glance at the Absol, only to see him completely relaxed, before returning his attention back to the woman.

”I didn’t realize I had company. But since Nebula didn’t alert me I can only assume you mean me no harm,” he said, gesturing vaguely towards the Absol when he called him by name. He decided not to bring up the other reason the Absol might have attacked her.

No reason to bring up some of the crazy people who tried to throw themselves at him. It wasn’t exactly a topic he wanted to get into. Especially with someone he didn’t really know. It did remind him that he’d never seen her around before.

He wondered if she lived in Mossdeep. If she did he’d be known the wiser since he usually only came here to get some sleep at his house and often left before anyone else really woke up. Today was just an exception. Since he’d decided he wanted to get some extra practice in.

His enthusiasm was contagious and he couldn’t help but let his grin grow. ”Yeah most people just want to get their Pokémon fully evolved. But I feel like sometimes the earlier evolutions are better. Take the Treecko evolutionary line for an example I’d rather keep it as a Grovyle if I ever got one than have it fully evolve,” he told the older male.

”Anyway as much as I enjoy talking about Pokémon perhaps we should get started,” he said agreeing with him that they should get going. The Dragonair dove into the air causing the older male to lean back a bit before the dragon pokemon landed back into the lake.

The Dragonair ended up fully emerged but they weren’t. Only their legs were submerged in the water. It didn’t take long with Resheph propelling them through for them to leave the shore behind them. Once they were a good distance away Josh began to guide the swimming dragon.

Now that he saw what he was doing he realized he was right. It was the same as if they were riding on land. ”It’s interesting how much similarities there are between riding a Pokémon on land or over water,” he said as he continued to watch what the older male was doing.[break] Josh Devlin

The idol took up the now vacant seat, which was just an old paint bucket. Considering the fact they were in an alley he figured it’d come out of a dumpster or something. That didn’t really phase him though. He was sure it was something his father would view with contempt though so doing something he knew his father wouldn’t approve of was a bonus.

Taking a cursory glance he had to resist the urge to snort in amusement. His face carefully blank as he had glanced at the card as well. Giving nothing away. But the fact the card he had pulled was the Ace of Spades had to be some kind of irony. Or perhaps that was just the way his luck went.

Things considered remembering his card wouldn’t be hard so he slipped it back into the deck when she was asked. The castform having moving closer to him as he did so. Almost seeming like he wanted him to put it in a certain spot. Or perhaps the castform just wanted to help. He smiled at the castform before realizing he should tell Harper he had added the card back.

Aslan began to slow down and when he came to a stop Jade got off. After his feet had touched the shore he watched as Josh returned Aslan to his pokeball before walking out into the shallows while taking out another pokeball. He was curious of what Pokémon it could be.

It wasn’t long before he had his answer. A Dragonair came out of the pokeball. Watching the Pokémon he couldn’t help but smile. Dragonair was always a Pokémon he had always liked. Though it he wanted to add a Pokémon to his team that he could use in the water he would probably prefer to have a Milotic.

”I’ve always liked Dragonair, I would’ve ever want to evolve it if I ever acquired one though. Nothing against Dragonite, but I prefer Dragonair,” he said with a small shrug. ”I can only imagine how that would feel, I hear it’s similar to riding a gyrados in that regard,” he said as he remembered having often seen gyrados jumping out of the water.

When the other male was ready he climbed on behind the older male. He was content to let the older male take point. Even if it was similar to riding on land according to the gym leader. ”Should probably refrain from that for now,” he said.
