Icarus's eyes go wide at seeing the pink haired girl standing above him holding out her hand. Ever since finding out she had come to hoenn he's done everything to avoid her. What surprised him was the lack of recognition as she looked down on him. Then again it made sense. He had changed a lot since they last saw each other. So had she. [break][break]
Within two seconds Gwen, his ever loyal absol, jumped out from the bushes and right between him and Des. Growling at her. [break][break]
"Gwen stand down! She was just trying to help me." Icarus sat up and pushed himself off. Brushing off some dead leaves that had stuck to his clothing. "Sorry about that... She can get really protective." He placed his hand on her head. While she had stopped growling she still looked warily at Des and her pokemon. [break][break]
"Sorry about scaring them off. You surprised me when I saw you here." Icarus took a step back, allowing for more space between them. He anxiously shifted from one foot to the other. Tapping his fingers on his side he says, "I could join you if you would like, but I wouldn't want to impose my company on you. I'm not the most talkative one."[break][break]
Icarus purposely tried to not mention his name. If she truely didn't recognize him, then it was for the best that she remained ignorant.

Icarus hated water. To much trauma in his past made him hate water. He really only went in it if he absolutely needed to. Standing knee deep in the waves of the slateport piers he looks into the depth and then at the many other people with goggles and other forms of diving gear. Unbuttoning his shirt he reveals the many tattoo's across his arms and back, which on closer inspection, one could see were covering many scars. [break][break]
Tossing the shirt onto the pier a call of irritation comes from it. "Oh Shut up Gwen. You're just lucky I'm not forcing you to dive with me. Retrieve goldie's pokeball for me?" Icarus rolls his eyes at his absol companion sitting on the pier with his thrown shirt tangled up in her horn. Shaking the shirt off she glares and him then turns to his bags, picks up a painted blue pokeball gently with her mouth and tosses it at him. Catching it he places it underwater and opens it. A small Goldeen swims out of the ball then around his legs. "Hey goldie! Mind helping me find some loot close to shore? I really don't wanna go any further." Goldie does two circles around his right leg to say yes. "Great! Lets get this started then." He throws on his goggles and a snorkel and dives under the waves.

"I'll have to buy the gear and stop by then! I'm kind of short on money right now but as soon as I can afford it all I'll be by! I know the basics of riding but the more complex stuff goes kind of over my head. After all I mostly travel with my motor bike. I didn't wanna risk driving it through here though cause of how loud it is." Icarus grimaces slightly. This was the most conversation he had in a week so he could feel a bit of his social battery dying. But he knew it was best to keep the conversation rolling otherwise it might get awkward and overwhelming for him. Almost as if she could sense him thinking about it Gwen paws Icarus's leg. He reaches down. Smiling now, he reaches down and pets Gwens fur and she gives off a low cat like purr. [break][break]

Sighing he looks back towards where they had come from and says, "Honestly its getting to dark and dangerous. I'm not going to even try getting to my acquaintance today, I'll just message him and tell him all be over tomorrow morning when its bright out and safer to travel." With a thud from each step, almost like being summoned from the word 'dangerous.' a Nidoking walks around the corner ahead. Backing away slowly towards the ranger, Gwen in front of him in a protective stance, Icarus leans over, "We should probably move a bit away from here. I don't know what else will be around and I really have no interest in sicking Gwen on that Nidoking."[break][break]

As Icarus waits for Devlins response he spots an Impidimp hop into a dumpster nearbye completely unaware of the two pokemon and two humans in the small area. [break][break]

Icarus, seeing ever staring, turns his head. He was used to people staring. His dark appearance and tattoos often gave him looks of confusion, pity, and sometimes even disgust. Placing the pokeball with the Goldeen in his side bag safely he pulls out some fingerless gloves and tugs them on as he listens to Ever quickly respond after realizing he was staring. [break][break]

"Well until recently, mostly web design and I am working on a edm and rap album that I doubt will go anywhere. But I usually go out and explore hoenn to find pokemon a lot. So I figured why not turn it into a job and joined the Rangers." Icarus started talking as he walked forward further into the falls. "What about you?" Icarus could sense that Ever was feeling slightly uncomfortable so he figured opening up a bit more couldn't hurt the situation as they were going to be there for awhile. [break][break]

As they walked on Icarus passed through an archway of stone. Almost as soon as they rounded the corner a large white armored claw swipes at him. Graciously Icarus saw the movement and ducked just in time to avoid the Golisopod's SLASH and it crushed against the stone wall. Gwen, seeing the immediate danger Icarus was in jumps forward and SUCKER PUNCHES. The Golisopod right in its chest before it can recover from its attack. It stumbles backwards and Icarus quickly retrieves a pokeball and throws it at the Golisopod knowing it was the only way to keep it from attacking. [break][break]

While quietly watching to see if it stays Icarus looks towards Ever and says. "Only part I hate about it is the having to damage unfriendly pokemon so we can capture them."[break][break]

TSAREENA SWARM (STARRY SUMMERTIDE)

Icarus sped down the route to Slateport city. One of his friends told him there was a swarm of tsareena's on the edge of town by the waters. He normally wouldn't care about the swarm but today was different. Today he was hoping all the good Karma would let him befriend a tsareena. Not because of the amazing abilities most of them had, but because a tsareena had always been his mima's dream pokemon. She had passed only about 6 months ago, leaving him, a stranger she took in, her whole mansion of a house in fortree as well as her beloved companion Rover, a small poochyena who had never accepted a single evolve. [break][break]
Gwen, his absol who was securely buckled onto the back of his bik, growled as they zoomed past a vehicle blasting music. "I'M A BARBIE GIRL IN A BARBIE WORLD~~!!" [break][break]
"I know Gwen! I don't know why people listen to that kind of stuff. Its literally painful to my ears!" Icarus laughed as Gwen called out in agreement.

"Ah, not really. I'm still debating really. When I finally decide I gotta visit the Ranger Captain in Fortree. Thats where I reside." Icarus picks up the pokeball with the Thieval, gently whispering into it before turning back to Devlin. "Sorry. I don't really have a ride pokemon yet so I kinda need this one. If I didn't I'd offer it over to ya." By now the weezing had floated off. Intimidated by how quickly Gwen took out the theival. [break][break]
Icarus sighs, walks over to Rover. Overall on the outside he looked fine but when he walked up to Icarus, he was limping on one leg. "Come on Rover, I know you just got out but I don't want you hurting your leg even more; so until we can get it looked at by a doctor you gotta go back in your pokeball." Rover looked at the pokeball in Icarus's hand and whined a little. Gwen had come up behind him and pushed his little butt. Almost giving a human like eye roll Rover tapped his nose on the pokeball and was re-summoned into it. Icarus tucked the pokeball away in his little bag. Patting it he says, "Crap. I only have two left. We'll have to buy some on our way home." He looks to the sky then at the ranger. "Is there any way I can help you sir? As a mode of payment and appreciation for your help with the skunky back there?"

Sighing as Icarus watched Devlin Capture the stunky he got down on his knee and patted Rover, a small but cute poochyena on head."Go find Gwen will ya? She ran off trying to catch some bumbling pokemon and I would hate for her to be on her own." Rover Barked then sniffed the ground before bounding off to find Gwen. [break][break]
"Sorry about that. Sometimes I forget that around here pokemon lurk in every corner. I guess I'm a bit spoiled living in fortree to not have to worry about most of them wanting to attack you." His hand goes up to sheepishly rub the back of his head. "Sounds like you have a pretty rough job though. You enjoy it much? I just got back from signing up to be a ranger not to long ago. I don't have much experience but I'd figure I'd try since I'm rarely home anyways." Icarus kind of starts to ramble, trying to fill the dead silence up with something. [break][break]
Before Devlin can respond though a yelp comes from around the corner Poochyena disappeared to and in a blink of an eye Icarus is already rushing over to the corner, skidding around it he see's Rover standing up from where he had been thrown and Gwen standing between him and two other very aggravated pokemon. A weezing, and a very thin looking thieval. "Ah shit. SIR YOU BETTER GET OVER HERE!" He Shouts, quite panickily. [break][break]
Before Devlin can even rush over the Thieval swipes its paw at Absol while the Weezing starts to float forward. "Gwen use Night Slash!" Without any hesitation Gwen lunges forward and her dark blue claws Slash at the thieval across his chest as she uses Night Slash. Almost Immediately Icarus has thrown a pokeball at the thieval in hopes his health was low enough from the slash itself that he would be too exhausted to resist the confinements for awhile. [break][break]
Icarus then looks towards Devlin then at the Weezing, who seems not to eager to join the fight after seeing the Damage Gwen could do. [break][break]

Icarus watched as Ever quickly dealt with the Carvanah. Who, in his opinion was just defending its home. He then glanced at the water and saw the goldeen swimming in circles, scared for its life. Walking over to the edge of the water Icarus picks out some small berries from a dark bag on his side that pretty much blended in with the rest of his completely black attire save for a few silver buttons, and gently placed his hands in the water near the pokemon. Squishing a single berry, he watched as the small stream line of red juice floated over to the small goldeen. [break][break]
Swimming catiously towards the smell of juice the Goldeen approached his hands and picked up one of the berries he offered it. Quickly eating it then zooming away. This happened a few times before finally it just sat there nibbling at the last of the berries offered.[break][break]
"I am sorry about your friend there. But if you come with me, you'll have many many more friends and a comfortable and safe home." Icarus said towards the Goldeen, it just looked up at him with its sparkling eyes as he spoke. Reaching into his pocket he produced a painted blue Pokeball and placed it into the water. "I promise." [break][break]
In response the Goldeen inspects the ball closely, if it chose to join him and his other pokemon its head would tap the ball and Icarus would open it. If not it would simply swim away and Icarus would respect its decision. [break][break]
He'd then turn his head to Ever. "Im here to make new friends." He gives Gwen a loving pet on her head before standing completely up and motioning down the path. "Shall we continue?"
