[attr="class","cam"]Camellia had almost ignored her partner, until her near scarlet gaze tracked him near the hull of the ship. She followed behind, standing silently as he uncovered the image.

With a quick decipher, she spoke it out loud. "Quaestor lucis." Her finger brushed over her lip as she contemplated for a moment. "A person, or perhaps it was the name of the ship," she suggested, separating from him again.

It seemed more fitting of a name for a ship in her eyes, though she'd been proven wrong before.

Camellia knocked her fist along the flats of metal, though her partner's call distracted her as he seemed to have found the hatch that allowed them aboard. She approached his side again, giving him a look.

"I'm not an uncooperative person, Mr. Tate," she said with a scoff, though she did not take his hand as she climbed into the ship without his help.

She began to investigate the other side, opening several doors without much avail. However, as she came to what she assumed was the captain's quarters or the control room, something startled her. A deep red oozed forward, tainting the waters around her. She covered her face, avoiding the inhalation of this substance.

"Blood?"

But even more disturbing was an organ-like structure at the center of the station, pulsing. And it seemed with each beat, more and more "blood" spilled forth.

"Schuyler. We have a situation."

Camellia's face was lit by her laptop, typing away on the porch of her newly bought home in Littleroot. It was away from the city, the wrap around porch donning a swing and a table where she sat in the setting sun. A cup of coffee sat to her side, while a cigarette burned idly in an ash tray.[break][break]

Leaning back, she took a swift inhale of the nicotine before blowing it out. @topher was out working, and she had a lead to catch with Victoria Beckett. She'd grown to trust the girl, inviting her over to their new home for intel gathering on their hit.[break][break]

She had to trust her, lest she blow her brains out... after all, the destruction of her apartment in Sootopolis caused her to go into hiding in Littleroot. If someone lost her trust, they'd pay.[break][break]

The sound of someone approaching caused Camellia to look up from her screen, spotting purple hair and a familiar figure. She extinguished the last bit of the cigarette, pushing the ash tray away.[break][break]

"It's a nice evening, isn't it?" she began, offering the smallest of smiles to Tori.

Camellia's first reaction to the depths of the sea were dread. There was certainly no way she would survive this mission in five minutes, and she was beginning to think Rocket or otherwise were just sending her away to kill her off.[break][break]

She expecting the burning sensation of water flooding her lungs when she gave in and breathed — yet it didn't happen. Even though she seemed to float in the water, she could breathe normally.[break][break]

"Strange. This is Ultra Space..."[break][break]

The sea floor was slick on her boots, but she didn't slip, instead regarding their surroundings as if she was surveying for danger. Until the man next to her decided to speak.[break][break]

Crimson eyes flicked toward him, barely giving his presence a thought. Camellia considered ignoring his question. They needn't entertain one another.[break][break]

"I'm not an assassin for Rocket, unless they pay up," she replied simply. "The division is more... beneficial for me, in the mean time," she explain vaguely.[break][break]

The thumping noise, as though a heartbeat was ever present, was rather distracting.[break][break]

"Let's move."

Camellia signed up for the bubble tea brewing contest out of sheer curiosity and fun. It presented a potential challenge for a mixologist like her, working at a bar and concocting brews. It was a far cry from her normal job — when she told @topher, she imagined he was a bit surprised she was doing something so mundane.[break][break]

Standing in front of the judges, she bowed her head, speaking in a thick Kalosian accent. "Good morning. My name is Camellia, and my partner is my Typholosion, a Hisuian variant, Elias. We look forward to demonstrating our skill to you today."[break][break]

Her Pokemon let out a grunt beside her before they walked to their station.[break][break]

The first tea was freestyle. So, Camellia decided to make something simple — a favorite of hers. Coffee flavored milk tea, using a Kalosian brew. Her Pokemon's natural heat was useful with melting down the sugars for the tapioca pearls. The sweetness would mix in nicely with the bitter coffee flavor.[break][break]

And, of course, the milk would cut the sharp coffee bitter bite down.[break][break]

And to decorate, some sweet cream and espresso powder on top.

So he could understand her. That would either serve to her benefit or her downfall. Camellia still wasn't sure how to peg her opinion on @henri. On one hand, he was easy to work with. It was easy to read his movements and understand him.[break][break]

But that familiarity she felt made her stomach curl and her brain scream that she shouldn't trust him.[break][break]

MOULIN SANG had done something to get rid of her memories before her time there. What if he was apart of that organization as well?[break][break]

So, she decided a necessary distance would suffice until she determined who he really was.[break][break]

The ROTOM phone glided toward her, resting in front of her with an open contact page. Camellia scoffed, giving him a look of disdain. "Don't tell me what to do," she snipped back.[break][break]

However, she found herself putting in her information anyway.

With a tug, something latched itself to Camellia's leg. She huffed, trying to yank her foot up from the depths. However, teeth greeted her with a searing pain, causing her to try and kick out again.[break][break]

To no avail, it seemed, as suddenly, she and her companions were pulled down into the murky depths. She wouldn't go willingly, even as her SIGILYPH disappeared back into its Poke ball with her.[break][break]

"Damn... I never told Topher... that..."[break][break]

Surprisingly, her consciousness came back, with other cries of protest around her. Her first notice was Victoria Beckett, calling out to her Pokemon to aid her.[break][break]

Only when she felt the wave of nausea did she understand.[break][break]

"PSYCHIC."[break][break]

If it successfully detached from her, she'd go to help her friend next.

His lips met hers, and Camellia felt like everything in the world was okay. Well, for the most part. She hadn't realized how much she had craved his kisses, even if this one wasn't like their desperate attempts to swallow each other whole. Her hand reached up, brushing his cheek until he pulled back.[break][break]

"You are a deviant, Topher Gentzel." But she couldn't help the smirk on her lips as she said that, instead cuddling closer to him.[break][break]

"You don't mind me staying with you?" She shouldn't be shocked. After all, he had practically moved into her apartment before the fight. "Okay. Maybe somewhere quiet and secluded."[break][break]

Camellia squeezed his hand, looking at the fingers as he spoke. She smiled, despite their previous disagreement and fight. Because he loved her too.[break][break]

"I may be Camellia... but I'm also human. Sometimes. I need help occasionally..." She paused. "If I was fucking with you, would you have still come? What if I was trying to make up with you in some strange way?" she teased. Though she would never do that.

The apology hung silently in the air, and even though he told her not to, she still wanted to. But before she did, Camellia let him speak because she felt like she wouldn't be able to get it out until she heard him speak.[break][break]

And, by god, she was fucked. Baptiste had found out she had a weakness, and it was so evident now how she met his gaze and felt that same swell in her chest that had constantly been there since their first fling.[break][break]

She shook her head at him. "I'm sorry. I'm so... sorry."[break][break]

So for the moment, Camellia allowed herself to cry. She allowed herself to be weak in the arms of Topher, because he was her person. He was everything and anything.[break][break]

"We don't have to decide now. I have something else to focus on at the moment. Like..." She peered at her apartment, sighing. "I need to move."[break][break]

Raising her free hand, she wiped away her tears, turning back to look at him.[break][break]

"Topher. I didn't mean it when I said saying I love you was stupid. I regret saying that to you. I hope you know that I... I love you. A lot. Thank you for coming here."

Camellia thought now that Baptiste was gone, Topher would follow in suit. However, he simply ducked away into her bathroom, leaving her and his LINOONE alone. As she gradually calmed down, she reached a hand out to stroke over its fur, not phased by the blood on its mouth.[break][break]

Her gaze traveled up, resting on her partner (was he her partner?) as he came beside her. And the questioning started.[break][break]

There was a sharp feeling in her chest, when he mentioned that he almost didn't come. But that was her fault, right? For pushing him away. For saying "I love you was a mistake."[break][break]

"Thanks..."[break][break]

There was a brief silence, his hand beside her if she wanted it. Camellia did more than take his hand. She leaned against him, holding onto his hand like a lifeline as her head rested against his shoulder. Topher was there. He was here.[break][break]

"Baptiste. One of the higher ups from MOULIN SANG." Perhaps it was time to tell him the truth.[break][break]

"He was one of my teachers there. And... enforced punishment on me when I tried to escape once. He said I was the best the group ever had, but that didn't stop him from-"[break][break]

She stopped, unable to continue as she buried into herself. "When I was a teenager, I led the uprising to their demise. I thought we'd terminated all of the officers. I didn't know he was still alive and looking for me."[break][break]

Camellia grasped at her throat. "Topher, about last time, I'm..." She was cut off by an ache in her throat, from tears in her eyes.

Camellia spotted Topher's LINOONE, and for even the briefest of moments, she thought they had the upper hand. Perhaps, this time, she could do it. Baptiste had a wound to the leg and her arm around his throat. With a single tilt of the head, she could snap his neck.[break][break]

She'd be free. Safe.[break][break]

However, when her shakiness subsided, allowing her the briefest moment to attempt the motion, her back hit the wall, subsequently knocking the air out of her. Her instinct was to gasp and swallow in oxygen, but the hand that was suddenly around her throat thought otherwise.[break][break]

This was it? This was how the assassin Camellia was going to die? Her nails dug into his grasp, the edges of her vision growing dark—[break][break]

Until she could breathe again. Her lungs were like fire as she wheezed in, unable to catch her breath until her lung acclimated. And she couldn't help the whimper and cringe as his lips pressed against her skin.[break][break]
"Fuck... off!" she gasped, collapsed on the floor with her hand to her throat. Though as quickly as he was there, Baptiste was gone.[break][break]

She sat in a shocked state, staring blindly at the floor until the LINOONE brought her back to reality. Camellia looked at it, to Topher, then back down, pulling her knees into her chest and pressing her head down against them.[break][break]

She didn't realize that she was sobbing.
