Camellia sat at her balcony, a cigarette resting between her lips. The ash began to burn away at the tip, the heat burning closer and closer to the butt that sat idly between her teeth. Her gaze was scanning the city laid in front of her apartment, finally taking it out and knocking away the ash into her ash tray.[break][break]

How long had it been since she'd last seen him? A week? Two?[break][break]

She would have never imagined that separating herself from @topher would make her have an itch, an urge, like no other. To reach out and contact him, tell him she needed him to come back. That she wanted him to be with her.[break][break]

That she was sorry.[break][break]

But pride was a dangerous trait to have. And he didn't reach out to her either. So, perhaps it was the end.[break][break]

"J'déteste comment t'envahi ma tête..." Camellia muttered beneath her breath, snuffing out the cigarette.[break][break]

At that moment, there was a knocking at her door. She paused, hardly turning, until it came again, almost desperately. Was he her? She stood up, slowly approaching the door to peak through the hole—[break][break]

Thank ARCEUS she moved on time, scurrying off to her bedroom and quickly closing the door. She locked it, trying to block it as quickly as she could with furniture before diving into her closet with her phone in hand. Her heart was pounding, her pulse racing in her ears.[break][break]

Because Baptiste had found her.[break][break]

A man that could make the Scarlet Dove, Onze, Camellia quiver at the knees, as he unlocked her front door and entered. "My Scarlet Dove? Where did you fly to?" he cooed, as she shook and sent a shaking text to the only one she could think of.[break][break]

Camellia would say she was a great judge on predicting how people would react. Call it a gift from watching faces turn in horror or guilt before individuals plead for mercy at her hand, only to be silenced.[break][break]

She was beginning to learn that @topher broke the trend. She never knew how he'd react.[break][break]

Because he pulled away. He looked at her like — like she was a monster. And perhaps she was. But she expected differently from him.[break][break]

"Does it look like I'm joking?" she asked, her previously soft tone she reserved only for him gone in an instant.[break][break]

It seemed the thought that had invaded his mind was nothing more than just that: a single thought, blown away easily by the wind. Camellia believed he held the same reservations she did, though perhaps not as deeply. Or perhaps, because he... loved her, he'd go with her.[break][break]

So, did he love her?[break][break]

There was fire that began to burn in her chest, and it was evident in her eyes the moment he spoke again. "Stupid? Don't you fucking dare call me stupid when I could call you-" There was something that held her back.[break][break]

His tears when he cried the night he was drugged. Cowering in a ball on her bed, begging to not be touched. Camellia's jaw clenched as she balled her fist at her side.[break][break]

"You don't know the first thing about me. You don't get to say that's not me."[break][break]

Right?[break][break]

"Get out." Topher was already grabbing the door knob, right? She'd help him make the decision.[break][break]

"Maybe I was stupid for saying 'I love you.'"

Her ears would prick like a dog's if they could. Camellia attempted to not show her interest in his... seeming betrayal of REVOCS so quickly, instead turning her back so that she could rinse her hair under the shower head.[break][break]

In fact, she didn't answer him at all until he offered her the towel. Camellia began to dry off, squeezing water out of her ashen and soot hair before she opened her lips.[break][break]

"Do we need them? REVOCS?"[break][break]

She dropped the dampened towel onto the ground carelessly, walking back into her bedroom to rummage through her drawers for something comfortable to wear. Underwear, a pair of shorts, and his sweatshirt was thrown back on before she went to brush her hair.[break][break]

"They may have helped you, Topher. But what loyalties to I owe them? I joined them for my own benefit and a bit of extra work. If we left..." She set the hairbrush down, turning to finally meet his gaze.[break][break]

"What do we need to worry about? Them? They know they've hired the most capable assassin and fixer in Kalos. Hell, potentially in Hoenn. They would be begging for us to stay, right?" Camellia asked softly, reaching up to place her hands upon his shoulders.

Upon further investigation, alongside a young-looking girl she'd never met, Camellia noticed that the leg was gnarled, missing chunks here and there. "Food? Or a blood thirsty predator?"[break][break]

It looked disgusting, to say the least, rotting away in the mire. Maggots were probably infesting it, and she had to thank whatever gods above that she couldn't smell a reeking stench.[break][break]

Camellia stepped away, heading back toward Victoria Beckett. However, as she approached her colleague — friend — a looming figure took her by surprise.[break][break]

A bear, similar to that of an URSALUNA. However, a scarlet circle lined its forehead. "I think our culprit has come to play."[break][break]

Her SIGILYPH let out a bird-like call, holding the LIGHT SCREEN to protect the group around her. She prepared for an attack...[break][break]

But it took off in a more central location.[break][break]

"Let's go," she answered Lulu Flint.

Camellia noted the YANMA that flitted by them, bouncing off the QUICK GUARD Tori had set up. It seemed any Pokemon present in the area were nervous...[break][break]

"There's something not right."[break][break]

Her thoughts were cut off by Lulu Flint, shouting at her HOUNDOOM taking off in the distance. She shared a quick glance with Tori before following after her.[break][break]

Not without picking up a few crystals on the ground, though. She wondered if they would be useful... well, hopefully they wouldn't kill them.[break][break]

Camellia nodded. "I'm going to check out what her Pokemon found. Stick close," she told the other girl, jogging through the mud toward Lulu and the others who appeared nearby.[break][break]

When she approached, she noticed the shape of a leg. However, the familiar, metallic smell of blood was washed away by the rain, intermingling with the mud. It confirmed her suspicions.[break][break]

The beast was nearby.[break][break]

"I hope this wasn't one of our party members?" she asked, allowing her SIGILYPH to fly beside her. She set up a LIGHT SCREEN in hopes of protecting from a sneak attack.

Camellia had never been the sentimental, gushy type. This conversation was far from her norm, way out of her comfort zone. Part of her wanted to pop the balloon animal right then and there.[break][break]

She didn't, instead leading him away toward a food stand.[break][break]

"Maybe. I've come to find that these carnivals have a lot of greasy foods. I'm not a fan of it. I almost wish there was something less... heart attack inducing," she said with a soft laugh.

It was the instances like these that Camellia questioned team Rocket. She enjoyed the freedom to do as she pleased, and for the most part, it seemed that she had that luxury.[break][break]

However, it was told to her late into the hours the previous evening that she was to go out to find a disguise with some other grunt she didn't know. She had plenty of disguises. So, she didn't understand the point of it.[break][break]

In fact, she was in the middle of getting ready when she heard an annoying sound outside of her apartment window.[break][break]

Going to the balcony, Camellia stepped out, glaring down at her assumed partner. "Cut it out! People are still sleeping!" She ended her scolding in a slew of Kalosian curses before disappearing into her home again.[break][break]

She'd remerge again, this time downstairs, moments later, a serious look on her face. "It's rude to perform that kind of behavior outside of someone else's living quarters."

Camellia and Nikola walked in silence, the only sounds heard the gears continuing to crank and spin in the distance and the sounds of their feet on the metallic ground. The LAMPENT occasionally made a soft whirring noise, as if signifying to his trainer that there was no danger around.[break][break]

At least, for now.[break][break]

They approached one of the gears, her head tilting back to take in its appearance. "Are you sure that's a wise idea—" she began to ask.[break][break]

However, her companion was already climbing on as the next point came grinding by. Camellia merely observed, more than happy for the stranger to be in harm's way.[break][break]

Alas, she sighed when Nikola reached the top. So, against her better judgement, she did the same, though she wasn't as graceful as she wished she was coming off the gear when she reached the top. A Kalosian curse slipped from her lips.[break][break]

At the same time, there was a clanging noise in the distance. Camellia furrowed her brows, freezing.[break][break]

Clang! Clang![break][break]

"I think we've finally got company." The METAGROSS appeared.

Camellia entered route 119, her hair already beginning to drip from the rain. The area was bustling with noise, individuals moving between the muddy grounds to begin their investigation.[break][break]

She wondered just how prepared these people were for what could be waiting for them. From the news, this beast seemed dangerous. And this was certainly not the place for fun and games.[break][break]

She eyed aaron faust and howard slayte, deciding to skirt away from them and the noise coming in that direction. The LOTADS watched, though she suspected something else was there as well.[break][break]

The feeling of being watched was ever present, as she was familiar with on the hunt.[break][break]

Familiar purple hair, though the woman beside her was a stranger to her, caught Camellia's eye. She trudged over, her work boots squelching in the mud.[break][break]

"Unfortunate weather for the hunt," she offered in idle conversation, since she was unsure of Lulu Flint's status.
