There were some moments when he was direct and forward, and others where he spoke in cryptic meanings, always hidden behind the mask that he wore. Afforded peace before the storm arrives? Something was coming... But why would he tell her that? It was likely just another threat...[break][break]
Yuina kept a fair couple of paces behind him, he turned his back on her like the nothing he still assumed she was. Her hand flexed, wishing that she had her seamitar in hand, where Daikenki remained in his pokeball... but her eyes flashed to his arms crossing over his chest, expecting to see crimson... He truly did bring out the worst in her.[break][break]
She looked at him at his question, but she wasn't perplexed, or confused. Instead, she was beginning to understand...[break]
"You think I killed the person you think I am," she returned, that had to be why he was so fixated on her now... But she wouldn't dare give him any inclination that the shadows that held their place in the back of her mind, her fault or not, were the reason she couldn't and wouldn't tell him anything.

Working on the support pilar, bracing against Daikenki as Crowley held it firm and in place, Yuina could already tell that she ached from the exertion of trying to hold steady against the beating water. Finishing the work that she did on the beam, she took a moment to glance around, there might be another one they definitely needed to take a look at, but Josh motioned them back to the surface. She was happy to oblige.[break][break]
Yuina and her few Pokemon emerged from the water's depths, coming up to meet Josh, and Yuina couldn't help the exasperation of slumping against the back of Daikenki's neck.[break][break]
"Oh my gosh, I had no idea. It is really intense down there," Yuina huffed in agreement, Crowley was anchored to a rock with his claws, and Daikenki braced himself against one of the pillars they were closest to.[break]
"I think I did see one more we should take a closer look at, and then a good once around just to make sure," Yuina nodded, they were on the same page. The one lap around the entirety of pacifidlog could very well be her undoing though. She'd definitely have to take a break after this mission.

Super serious and angry? It was hard to imagine, even in the midst of that island, he found room to offer a smile. Or in their boot camp sessions, he could hardly keep an enitrely straight face while he was barking orders. But... Given how much and how strongly he cared... Yuina could see the notion that if something were to threaten something he cared about, even themselves...[break][break]

Yuina glanced down to the camera she held in her hands first, had she accidentally pressed the button without realizing it? But then she heard Eris snicker, looking out from behind the shape of her phone. Yuina blinked, flushing a bit pink, she certainly hadn't been expecting a photo... But Eris' smile, and her kind words gave way to Yuina's own smile, an a laugh.[break][break]
"We'll if we're spending it together, then we should make it look like it," Yuina returned, lurching forward and taking Eris' shoulders in one arm and holding her camera up in the other, snapping a picture of the both of them!

There was no doubt to Yuina that Rocket would have been looking to gain information and intel on this vast new place that just tore through the southern portion of the region. But how coincidental was it really that they were both sent there on the same sort of mission? Her eyes narrowed. He truly was insolent, returning her questions back at her with little else.[break][break]
"Why? So you have more intel to bring back to your superiors," Yuina returned, moving to take an opportunity to mount Centos beside her. The sword allowed her to help herself onto its back, if it came down to it, she was sure that Centos could lose them in the caverns that he was already familiar with.

The cryptic message came, and with it the reminder of an ever constant threat. It wasn't enough that he was summoning her, he meant to show her that she was never safe if he could find her and contact her so easily... And moreso that even though he could find her with little effort expended, he still made demands of her to come to him...[break]
If ever there was someone that Yuina truly loathed...[break][break]
The Pokemon strewn about the forest floor was an uncessary show of his ruthlessness... And if the opportunity allowed, she knew that she would have to go back for them and tend to them... But she couldn't do that with the imminent threat that awaited her within the forest's depths... Her most hated place...[break][break]
There he looked down at her, forever marring her worth, deeming her beneath him as he did in every instance.[break]
"You have never paid me a kindness. Why would I pay you one," she returned, bristling at the utterance of her name from his dissonant voice.[break][break]
"What do you want? If I am nothing, and now no one, to you, why go out of your way to find me?"

Yuina nearly tripped on a cluster of rocks as Ayashi clomped along the dirt ground of the tunnel they strode through, as Cian once again truly astounded her. He spoke so casually about... having a past with Rocket? And he was in the league, he was a gym leader, now he was a champion... Representing the organization?[break][break]
She had no idea... were there others like Cian who had a different past? Others like... herself perhaps? It was hard to make the distinction, she still didn't know who she was, what the triad wanted with her... Which her they wanted...[break][break]
"Uhm... I guess I'm not really sure, thinking about it, it kind of all sounds like excuses...," Yuina murmured after a moment.[break]

Where Yuina saw the initial point to Andrea's wondering, if humans went against the natural order, therein laid a first token to prove her own theory correct. If all things were part of the natural order, humans included, that did mean that in some sense that they were created the same...[break]
But the conversation quickly derailed.[break][break]
Yuina could only blink behind her glasses, mouth slightly agape. That was... certainly one conclusion to draw...[break][break]
"Uh-uhm...," how did she back track on this?[break]
"Wait, wait Andrea, these are only theories, this is only one religion and one culture," Yuina tried to say, there was no basis in anything they were discussing really. And she too had some strong opinions on the idea of a path being decided for any one individual... Her own was hardly linear, surely that couldn't be a correct 'way of the universe'.[break][break]
"Sinnohism aside, your path, my path, anyone's path should be whatever you make it out to be," she tried to reassure. Was that true? Who knows...

Walking through the tunnels and caverns, the ground beneath Yuina and Daikenki began to shutter with heavy hoof stomps as something rushed towards them from the depths. A large and imposing horse Pokemon came barreling through the cavern, surely ready to run them through, but Daikenki moved to catch the horse in its rush with his seamitars, using Razor Shell. The impact was intense, both Daikenki and the horse were thrown back from each other, but given the shock of the impact, Yuina took the opportunity to throw a heavy ball with all her might in an attempt to capture the ground type Pokemon.

Furious, burning lightning surged across the sky, threatening all in its path.[break]

Yuina trembled as she held Desiree, as they remained there on the ground together, not out of her own pain but in knowing how much of it Desiree had already endured. One arm was wrapped tight around her angel's shoulders, the other cradling her head, and Yuina wept too at knowing no matter how tightly she held on, how much she tried to shroud Desiree away... She couldn't save her, not when they were made to be separated from each other in this place.[break][break]
"Des... I-I'm so sorry," Yuina's voice trembled, a soft kiss at the crown of Desiree's head.[break]
"I tried to stop them, I wouldn't vote, I said we should all receive punishment... Me, Navy, Doug... but we weren't strong enough, they didn't listen," there were too many others who saw the near sighted goal of self preservation, but in the end, it wouldn't matter... They had to know that...[break][break]
"You don't deserve this... I promise, I promise you we're going to get out, I can't stand to know what they've done to you, and I can't be there to help you..."

Ever looking for an opportunity to work and practice together, Yuina knew that she and Daikenki could never say that their training was complete. She trusted his power, they were linked now and she could feel his strength now more than ever, but there was always work to be done.[break][break]
Walking into the depths of the tunnel that moved through the mountains in the center of the region, Yuina moved with Daikenki. Perhaps it was the dimness of the tunnel, or she might not have been paying attention, but she gave a small yelp as she tripped over a cluster of rocks on the ground, stumbling forward. Turns out she herself needed some work too still...

The mindless shuffling and the groans from below waned as they gained altitude from the darkened city streets, and Yuina drew in a breath to release the tension as she sat astride Ocian's shoulders. She was able to relax that much more with Doug settled behind her, arms around her waist as they moved through the air.[break][break]
She couldn't see his smile behind her, but she could hear it in his voice as he regarded Ocian, where somehow that made her a 'full blown pro ranger'. If it weren't for knowing that they had to be careful with light sources in this place, Rasza and Harrow were her typical mounts. But between Rasza's tail and Harrow's crest, they were both too risky to have here.[break][break]
"I guess? I'm not sure what Ocian has to do with that in particular... Working with him hasn't been that different... I don't think," she returned with a laugh. It wasn't as if her experience with feral and otherwise primal alpha centric Pokemon had anything to do with being able to work with a dragon said to be highly aggressive that should be approached with caution.[break][break]
Lofting on open wings, Yuina motioned for the Salamence to come closer to a rooftop they neared, and before she could set the dragon to land, Doug dismounted first. She couldn't quite see what had happened, but she heard a curse, and the disturbing and unsettling sound of the cracking of bone...[break]
Asking if he was okay was fruitless, she knew he would be... but as she got Ocian onto the rooftop to dismount for herself and returned the dragon to his ball, she looked at Doug as he held a soft magenta glow in his hand.[break][break]
"Were you accident prone before or after you could patch yourself up," she snickered, only making light of it because he was already standing upright. If he wasn't alright, there would be no jokes to be made.[break]
A stiff wind blew over the rooftop, and where Yuina wasn't keen on spending any time inside one of the buildings, if they could secure a small space, so that they could go back and forth to the tower that they were only a couple of roof tops away from...[break][break]
"We can try, maybe they don't wander too far into the upper floors of these buildings...," she returned, hopeful... There really wasn't anywhere truly safe in this place when the ravaged megalopolans could be lurking in every dark corner.

Perhaps she had been a little over zealous in telling Eddie so much about her mission and what it was she was trying to do in regards to the Hisuian Pokemon of the region, and in kind the Paradoxes that could now be found within the chasm's depths too. Where she was looking to study and learn more about them, and was working with some of her own... She by no means was an expert? And certainly hadn't yet tried to 'train' anyone else in the ways that she interacted with her Pokemon...[break]
It wasn't as if she had a way to bring someone to the wilds of Hisui where Pokemon didn't care for the difference between a human or Pokemon opponent...[break][break]
In any case though, Yuina did agree to meet with Eddie, she couldn't very well turn him away. She considered him a great friend already, and if he was asking for her help... well... she would try her best...[break]
He chose well, somewhere isolated, off the beaten path, not too many people had a reason to travel north from Rustboro on the regular, not unless they were sight seeing or trying to get up north to Fallarbor town... That was good, the less opportunity for interference the better. She wasn't sure exactly what the temperament of his paradox in question was, but to minimize over stimulation was a good start.[break][break]
There in the distance, she could see Eddie, and one of the ceratops that roamed in the depths beneath the icelands... And even as he called out to her, raising his voice, making himself known, she was relieved to see at least that the ceratops didn't seem to pay him any mind. It was perhaps not inherently aggressive... For now.[break]
She didn't change her demeanor, in fact she made sure to stand up that much straighter, keeping her shoulders square, eyes steady and focused. Thus far to Omura, her own ceratops, to show weakness was to show disrespect, and in an animalistic body language, showing disrespect was a one way ticket to sowing aggression.[break][break]
"Eddie, it's good to see you too," she greeted, but not until she got a bit closer to where she wouldn't have to raise her voice. She wasn't about to try and make a display of authority in front of the paradox.
