Unable to think quite fast enough, Yuina was only barely able to follow what Thomas was saying before it was too late. They were being pursued still, and they weren't going to be able to deliver their supplies, but rather than let the rockets have it...[break]
"Wait what," she shouted, but it was far from opportune. Interdream mist started to kick up around some of the rocks and at the edge of the island as they whizzed past, and no sooner had Yuina fully grasped what was happening, she was clung to Thomas as they jumped, leaving the vehicle behind as it fell from the cliff face.

Sent out to survey more of the outer edges of the shoreline of the beach, Yuina had to wonder if it was a good idea for her to go out by herself... That was the assignment she was given, did that mean that they thought she was doing good work? Or that she was expendable...? She didn't feel like she'd been doing anything worth while in this entire escapade, sure she'd run off a couple of grunt rockets and helped some of her fellow reps on the mainland, but she didn't feel like she'd really accomplished anything on this war front, save for lining out a new set of fears, insecurities, and understandings that... She really was out of her league with all of this...
Yuina walked along the sandy beaches with Ruma the Camerupt and Nimbus the Raichu to keep watch, figuring that she could go another mile or so before turning back to head for the encampment she'd come from.

At least for now, Yuina felt a little confident about how things were going, especially since she was out on the open beach of the island and not trapped within the tunnels below with the interdream mists that flooded the tunnels or the lava monsters that were teeming down there around every corner. Without those threats, she was trying to focus on the battle, but as Zeri knocked out their strange pink Pokemon, they released another similar one and shot Zeri straight on with a hefty gunk of poison.[break]
The Umbreon succumbed to the poisons he had already taken on, and the canine couldn't fight any longer, but Yuina was far from ready to call this battle over. She released Noct out onto the beach, the Dusknoir lofting above the sandy surface, and to her surprise the ghost began to glow, her Tera Orb reacting to the energies of the island and the Tera Crystals that were all over the place.[break]
Soon Noct was glimmering and shining in a dark purple, and the ghost was ready for its fight as it squared off with the strange pink Pokemon.

Pandemonium was breaking loose in the tunnels as the fight waged on, but it was becoming less and less a race and more and more a fight to see who was going to get caught by the lava monsters. The Haze did enough to stall her pursuer, but only just as they released another Pokemon that shone brightly with surging energy. And then the tunnel began to get very, very cold as a Blizzard rushed through. Noct was effectively fainted at the sheer ferocity of the cold, and Yuina couldn't see the interdream mist that was lofting into the tunnels as the ice started to over take the entire tunnel.[break]
Trying her best to keep up with the evolving situation, Yuina reached out to the energy that she shared with Rasza, and the dragon began to glow and take on a new form that shrouded her from the icy cold, and in her energized state the Mega Charizard released an Inferno to combat the assaulting Blizzard.[break][break]
On the other side of Rasza, the tunnel walls broke and shuttered as another Lava Monster peered down at her. She panicked, and opened another Pokeball, releasing Sceptile into the fray. They seriously needed to get out of here...[break]
"Rasza, come on," Yuina shouted over the furious attacks, and the dragon gave one last huff and push of her Inferno before turning to run again with Yuina and Sceptile, trying to go down another path now and away from more of the Lava Monsters.

DESIREE BLOOMS

Of all things that Yuina could have imagined in this moment, she couldn't have been prepared for how emotionally charged it all became and how cathartic it was to release it all and know that Desiree thought so highly of her... As Desiree had reached out to grab onto her, burying her head in her shoulder as she accepted Yuina for who she was, and denounced that she could have anything to do with the terrible people they've faced, Yuina held Desiree close to her as they cried together again, tucking her chin into the back of Desiree's head.[break]
"You have so much faith in me... I hope one day... I can have that same faith in myself," Yuina cried, she couldn't ever know what she did to deserve such graces from an angel like Desiree, she was so sure and so certain that Yuina could never be capable of anything less than standing up for the good in the world, and for that, she was so, so grateful.[break][break]
In this same, vulnerable moment between each other, as Yuina held Desiree and she felt the pinkette's feelings coming to a crest, Yuina couldn't have fathomed that she too had something that was eating away at her from the inside, something that she carried with her, weighed down by it, and dreaded about herself. She spoke over her father, though Yuina could hardly feel that calling him a father was necessary given the terrible things Desiree described, how he hurt her so, how he intended to kill her... Just the very thought that someone would have even laid a hand on Desiree that way filled Yuina with so much anger.[break]
How dare someone even touch an angel that way. And her words that followed... Yuina's anger turned to heartbreak...[break][break]
"Hate you," Yuina choked after a sob, how could she? How could Desiree even think such a thing?[break]
"I could never, ever hate you Desiree, never," Yuina said between tears, hugging her ever tighter, hoping that it could come across just how much she meant those words, the feeling was more than her words could ever encompass.[break][break]
"You are full of so much love, and you want nothing but love for everyone around you... I... Just the thought that someone hurt you that way..." she couldn't even finish the thought... It was just awful, even knowing that person was gone didn't minimize the seething anger.[break]
"You are worth and deserving of every bit of love that you have for everyone around you and then some... Don't you ever think that you deserve less... You acted out of survival, out of fear for your life... You should have never had to take that action but... You wouldn't be here if you didn't..." Yuina remarked, any reasonable person would try to defend themselves, if she had done anything differently, she might not be here...[break]
"And I'm so glad that you're here... And that I've been able to meet you..."

Barely moving, not wanting to make any sudden shifts that could cause this person to seek her out more fervently, Yuina inched slowly from her hiding spot as she clutched the Phione to her chest. She hesitated though as the sound of footsteps echoed, moving towards her, they were advancing, she was terrified but...[break]
The way he spoke? Now being able to focus on hearing more of his voice... No... Was it? And then, he gave his name, and the relief that Yuina felt in that moment was palpable. She didn't hesitate then, she moved swiftly from her hiding spot, trying to stand upright, but she shuttered a bit at only just now realizing how stiff and rigid she had been in her hiding, her muscles ached at the sudden movement.[break]
"Doug? I... I can't, I'm so glad it's you, it's me, Yuina," she breathed.

While they were thinning out the offending rockets, they still had their work cut out for them. Yuina stood close to the boy, they hadn't been able to make their escape yet as a strange looking tree moved through the shadows and cut off Alossa's path, the horse rearing up with huffing breaths. The boy's large armored Pokemon surged with energy, it looked like the same kind of energy for Mega Evolution, and it was able to easily take down an orange fox Pokemon that was attacking them.[break]
"Okay, stay close, as soon as we have an opening, we're taking it," Yuina returned, and the Rapidash huffed again at the tree that had blocked his way. She knew that running and escaping was only going to get them so far, they were likely to be pursued and would need to keep up the fight, but for now, they needed to get on the road.[break][break]
The horse stomped furiously on the ground and released another Inferno at the tree, and in that moment that the Pokemon was encompassed in flame, that was their shot.[break]
"Okay now," Yuina called, moving as quickly and swiftly as she could to help the boy up onto the horse's back. The Rapidash kicked his back legs for good measure, trying to clear their immediate area, and Yuina clamored onto his back.[break]
"Alossa, go!" And they raced off in a trail of smoke.

This was... Yuina wasn't quite sure what to do? The girl wasn't attacking, but she wasn't going to stop either, and then she called her a name like she knew her? Yuina had definitely never seen her before...[break]
"Okay, first, that's not my name, I don't know you. Second, I'm not a criminal. I'm with the rangers," Yuina argued, but she still wasn't backing down.[break]
"Look, I don't care if there's infinity energy or a portal, or what on this island, unless you give me a good reason to let you through, like showing me you're not with Team Rocket, then we're not moving," she returned. Did she need to attack if she wasn't being attacked, not necessarily, but then again, the law of the land here was pretty different and morally gray, something Yuina had learned very quickly. That wasn't how she wanted to act, but she was out here for a reason, and she was going to uphold that and maintain her perimeter of the island.

The explosion was deafening, and shook the vehicle as they sped onwards leaving the destruction behind, and Iono had barely managed to race his way back to the vehicle and collapsed in the back amongst their supplies, knocked out from the force of the explosion. Surely that had left most if not all of the vehicles incapable of following them, but that did still leave the offending rockets that were pursuing them from above. Yuina returned Iono, the fire type had done enough work and she hoped that he would be alright.[break]
"We might have to reroute, if we can't shake them, we can't bring the supplies to the base... we'll have to keep fighting until we get rid of them all, or lose them somewhere," Yuina remarked, this was far more dangerous than she could have fathomed, and they were far from safe to be able to deliver the items they were trying to bring to their camp.

In one way or another, it seemed that their last expedition together was successful, or at least useful, because Yuina and Ollie were set out to do another visit to the broken city in the dimension wormhole. It was a little easier, knowing that she'd already been there and back, but only just. She still tried not to think too hard about being in another dimension and all of that. Being in familiar company was helpful too, she was glad to be doing the journey again with Ollie.[break]
"So, the tower is our target this time, in the middle of the city...," she mentioned, working out what they were going to survey this time around. In the distance, an impossibly tall tower stood, looming over the entire broken city. What was concerning though was when a light shuttered and blinked at the top, the unmistakeable sound of the zombies tht roamed the city surged and swarmed the surrounding area of the tower... Attracted to the light it seemed...[break][break]
"Right, the giant beacon that seems to draw all of the blue zombies towards it... That doesn't sound terrible at all," she tried to joke, but, it was still pretty jarring in this place, and she definitely didn't want to get grabbed into a swarm of those husks of what used to be people...

Where Yuina might have thought that her time was limited, being thrust into the air by heat and explosion, she could feel her skin burning, her breathing was choked and suffocated, and she had no control over where she was going being thrust into the air. She feared the worst in that moment, that could have very well been it, she felt like she was going to burn alive and then fall to her death and Crowley was going to suffer with her as the croc roared and flailed in the air... but then a brilliant glowing energy surrounded her and Crowley, slowing their descent to the ground, and while she could still barely see and breathe as the heat was truly unbearable, she coughed at being let down onto the ground with a thud, instead of a devastating crash.[break]
There was little else that Yuina could think to do in that moment except get away, the mountain was shuttering, crumbling, everything was falling apart. They needed to go, and many others started to vacate the mountain top that she could see through her haze and the tunnel vision she was getting. In what little energy she had left, Yuina returned Crowley to his Pokeball and released Kano, only barely able to slump onto his back and try to hang on. Her head was pounding, she couldn't catch a full breath, and she felt like she was going to pass out at any moment. The Arcanine started to follow suit with the rest of the trainers and Pokemon that were vacating the mountain top, hoping to escape before they were swallowed with the volcano itself.
