One by one, the Pokémon found themselves wrapped up in thick, unruly netting that wasn't able to be escaped from without any exterior assistance. Leilani humphed to herself after every shot. She had some practice back home with this work back home with traditional fishing, but this was at least quicker.

Ameena's Espertha was truly vicious with these poor Yamasks, even managing to outright knock some out. It was terrifying as it was a pretty coordinated attack. Her eyes stopped to marvel at the bird for a moment until it returned to her ball.

”Some Pokémon are just mean.” Lei put it simply before firing another round, then adding, ”Koa’s like that.”

Ever the fountain of commentary, she continued on and on until they had a good portion of Yamask bunched up and ready to go for extract. Lei tossed another bagful into their pile before looking around for any stragglers.

”Wouldn't hurt to get more.” Leilani said and kept her net gun by her side. ”I'll do a circle. Warm up our ride, please.”

So far, so good. That turn had given her a chance to blow by some of the other competition, as Leilani sailed on Koa's back across the racers that had been in front of her. She passed right by Thomas Benoit as the Alolan offered him a a blown kiss before passing by. "See you at the finish line, handsome." she teased while kneeling down to then quickly prepare herself to take the next turn.

Koa grunted out another little snort before speeding up towards the next obstacle.

So that little turn hadn't gone exactly as she had wanted, as the Alolan wobbled while Koa wasn't able to brake just in time to prevent themselves from bouncing off of the wall. The act had sent her tumbling off of her Blastoise's back and clutching onto his outer shell until they had slowed down enough for her to jump back on.

"You good, Koa?" she asked. The Blastoise let out a dizzied grunt while she'd point at the other races passing by them. "Good. Let's get back into it."

"Take me for a ride sometime, yeah? Always loved going fast."

Threats and demands to stop. Such was the way of life in the big city. Leilani had always been fascinated by how fast everything was in the urban cityscapes compared to back home. For a population that had such advancements, everybody moved faster than humans could even allow. The islands were at least way more peaceful, in certain ways.

A grin cracked her face at the declaration to get ready. "Always am."

But fortunately, their luck seemed to be turning around. The power in the entire city had suddenly went dark. Screams and shouts were all around as below, the streets of this urban nightscape were thrown into pitch black. Lei allowed Camilla to lead her into the dark, as the ALolan did her best to keep pace with the other woman.

"Wonder what caused this."

Another simple job, all things considered. Leilani had once again been swept all the way towards Mauville, standing beside Ameena once more as they scouted the place out. It was to be a pretty simple mission. Just snatching up Yamasks before anybody could claim them for a quick buck on the black market.

“Lot of ‘em.” She commented and knelt down next to the other woman and took the binoculars offered to her. “Good chance of a payday. Should be easy.”

The Alolan followed suit, taking some steps out of the alleyway that Ameena stepped out of and taking another glance around to ensure herself the coast was indeed clear. Taking out a net gun, she'd load up a fresh bundle of nets and slowly begin picking the Yamask off, one by one. Her aim was true and remained impeccable.

"Making short work of 'em. Should be a quickie."

So far, so good. Leilani hadn't exactly been expecting to get to the front right out of the gate, but with a little elbow grease and a lot of luck, maybe she wouldn't be stuck dead last. Her Blastoise coasted by in the middle of the pack, with the competitors busy swirling all around. The lot of them had been forced down a path with the last turn and split the group evenly.

She looked around the her side, a lively bunch. Could Mahina see her? Or was she busy staring at her phone and fanboying over Josh? Another sharp turn in the middle of this fork was coming up while she prepared herself to go around.

Scuttle the Inkay had been called out as she latched onto Leilani's shoulder. Despite the assurance that she wasn't going anywhere, Lei did sacrifice a hand around Camellia's waist to make sure her Pokemon wasn't going to fall off. A PSYBEAM was fired off to make the police stay back and not try to ram into them, or something.

Camellia veered into the alleyway and managed to lose most of the cops chasing them, though a couple had followed them. People around them hawked their goods, while the two criminals raced past and parted the sea of vagrants. Some people dove out of the way while others watched in amazement.

"Think there's a food cart down there?" Lei smirked, popping her head on Camellia's shoulder, "You're pretty good. Have a history biking?"

It was a pretty nice spot to be in, from the sound of Misturu's little situation. Lost in the world (and this huge chasm) without any place to go or run around with. It was hard to say she would be envious to be in her position, but Leilani found a world without Rocket's collar around her neck rather nice.

"Fresh starts are nice." Lei nodded in agreement, "Enjoy your time in Hoenn?"

She pushed through the forest and flora with the other woman, wishing she had a Pokemon to deal with this kind of lawn cutting deal that would make this immensely easier. The vines around the trees looked ancient, and she did stop to admire them for a moment before pushing through.

"Been here for a few hours. Kinda wished I had a day off to explore fully, but work's work." she then paused, putting a hand in front of the other.

Lei looked back to Misturu, motioning to a giant footprint that rested before them.

"Somebody's been here." Her eyes shot to the signs of a struggle: a fallen, bent row of tress, charred remnants of trees and more that dotted the grass. "Looks like a fight."

"Mitsuru. Pretty name."

Leilani smirked as the other woman introduced herself, clearing the air. It had been a bit of a worrisome scenario as the awkwardness between the both of them had been reduced to zero for the time being. WHy somebody like her was all alone in a place like this was beyond her. SO it looked like it fell on her to care for her.

This was starting to become a trend.

"And yeah. I'm from Alola. Nice to meet ya."

She stood up from her seat and motioned for Mitsuru to follow her as she started to lead the way forward on the hunt for the dogs.

"Your name. You from Kanto or Johto?"

One minute, Leilani is dangling precariously over the edge of a cliff and terrified of how high she is, and the next, she's held upside down by her Blastoise. Koa would managed to find his steadying as the Alolan twirled around and tried to calm herself now that they had successfully been teleported out of harm's way.

"Scared to hell, but fine. Heart's racing right now."

Leilani breathed a sigh of relief and looked up at Koa, who released her back down to the ground. She fell next to Frank with a thud. Her hands gently kneaded the ground as if to thank Arceus above that she could feel it once more.

"Think that should be fine for our field trip. Enough danger for one afternoon."

Back home in Slateport it was. But instead of pleasure, Leilani was here for business. Rocket business, in fact. She stood outside of a quarantined warehouse that emit a purple haze. Poison Tera energy had been seeping into this building in particular from underneath, and she had been tasked with eliminating it so that Rocket could once again use it for their purposes.

Her partner wasn't present near the start. Hopefully he wasn't dead somewhere.

After a soft groan, Lei pulled a gas mask over her face and inhaled. A sharp, industrial scent was there to great here. The kind that was like inhaling that new plastic smell when tearing the packaging off of a CD case. But it did beat dying an agonizing death. She moved inside just in time to catch the fleeting shape of another human.

Poison-types were everywhere inside of this building. It was hard to even find anything else that could survive such a toxic climate.

"Hey." Leilani called out to the other man as she tailed him. "Rules said to wait up for me. Didn't want you breaking something in here without me to save you."

In a flash of data integers and some other computer words, Camellia and her had appeared on the back of a lone Cyclizar. With the other woman driving, it put the Alolan carefully holding onto her on the back, arms wrapped around her midsection. The environment around them was Hoen, or some kind where everything was destroyed eons ago.

"Didn't think the future would look so...ugly."

Mahina would die if she had one of these.

Just as they continued to enjoy the flight, sirens were born from the abyss behind them. She turned her head back just in time to duck under an incoming TECHNO BLAST. More came behind them, sending the two into evasive maneuvers. She braced herself against the woman's back, looking back at their pursuers.

"Cut through the alleyway or lose 'em on the highway! I'll try and buy us some space."

A soft laugh escaped through Leilani's lips, though it was hard to discern whether or not it was humorous or ironic.

"Maybe not kidnapped. Counted a lot of guns though. I was a thief with my..."

She paused, looking troubled. Were her and Mahina dating technically? They did all the stuff couples did, and she enjoyed their nights together, but did she feel the same way? Lei decided to sidetable it and return with her train of thought.

"...my partner back in Alola. Stole everything, made it big. This was supposed to be stop one on our vacation. Did a job and it went bad. Might have accidentally stole Rocket stuff. They weren't too happy, but gave us a deal."

Some time after Sheila left, an earthquake would rock through the area. Lei held onto Koa for stability, through watched as Frank fell to the ground. Even the Blastoise would struggle to remain upright in a time like this. The ground in front of them had began to give away as she cursed aloud.

"Back up!"

She took up the rear, though the ground gave away from her, sending Leilani backwards as she began to fall. She yelled out in surprise and readied herself to drop from a great height before being caught by Koa by her foot. His grip wasn't perfect, and he was struggling to keep her upright here.
