[attr="class","diana"]The tension between Remiel Calcifet and Diana Cavendish was nearly suffocating in Remiel's house. Since Hoennyule, the two seemed to make it their mission to make awkward small talk and little to no eye contact between them. In Diana's case, she found it hard to stop looking at her former fiancé in any other light that the one she had seen that night.

She knew he'd grown, and he was no longer that young and awkward teenager she'd first met. But to think that the former prince of Galar was so-

The wooden spoon she had in her hand fell to the floor, splattering sauce on the ground. "Oh, bollocks," she cursed to herself, swooping down to pick it up and clean up the mess. However, her apron caught the handle of the pot and sent it spilling over the counter. She had yet to learn cooking tips and with her mind so occupied, well...

Diana sighed, going to clean up the mess before Remiel came home. Luckily, her DRATINI was much help with her water ability.

Dinner wasn't going to be made in time for either of them. So, when Remiel showed up and they exchanged awkward greetings, Diana made up her mind to try to put a stop to this nonesense.

"Remiel. Why don't we go to dinner tonight? Consider it my treat," she'd offer.

And somehow it worked, the two Galarians roaming the streets of Dewford Town for a bite to eat.

[attr="class","diana"]Diana hadn't expected him to come to her room. She expected to be unable to sleep and toss and turn the night with frustration and anger. Why had she done that? Why did he stop? Why shouldn't they kiss?

The thought echoed in the back of her mind: "you're doing it to get closer to him. You're getting him to let his guard down."

But why was she feeling so distressed by this if that was the reasoning behind it?

Hot tears began to pour down her cheeks, puddling on her pillow. How many hours had it been now? Diana was considering getting up, leaving Remiel's house and going to the place that Jayden had given her, when a dip in the bed and arms came around her. Her body jolted, until she recognized him.

And then there was a melding of his lips against hers and things she'd never done before. Nothing spoken between them except body language, until it was finished, and finally, Diana could fall asleep.

However, when she woke that next morning, he was gone from her bed. It felt like a dream, until the covers were pulled back and her movements reminded her what had truly happened. Diana sighed, placing her head in her hands as she held back a sob.

"What did I do wrong?"

It was Hoennyule.

[attr="class","diana"]Diana looked through the rental papers, which appeared to be signed in her name. Though, if she understood her contract, that rental truly didn't belong to her. She was merely another stranger to live there until her task was done. And if she violated her contract?

Well, she could imagine that there were consequences worse than eviction.

She hoped it was at least a nice place. Diana was about to ask, but Jayden's information startled her. There was a chill, sent straight to the bone, that caused her freeze. All she could truly reply with was, "e-excuse me?"

[attr="class","diana"]Diana's mind was so full of thoughts that it began to hurt. She remembered Jayden's words when she'd asked what he needed her to do for him. For team Rocket.

"You're here to kill Remiel Calcifet."

He had said it so easily, as if it meant nothing in the world. But as each day passed by, she wondered if she really could do such a thing. Cillian Quinn had insinuated love between them, and she had assured her head there was nothing there. And yet... there were these feelings in the pit of her stomach.

"Perhaps not to start. But such things can take root." he'd said.

She decided to busy herself with some needlepoint while she waited for him to come out of the bathroom for her own shower. The canvas, held tightly in place by the clamps, grew ever sloppy with each pass of her needle. So much so she had to throw it across her bed in defeat. That's when he came out.

And when she saw him, clad in nothing more than a towel around his waist...

Diana was quick to turn away, pretending as if she saw nothing. But her shower was a fury of emotions and finding some way to deal with them, ensuring she didn't spend too much time in there as she, too, soon retired to bed.

Surely Remiel Calcifet was simply just a housemate to her now, as well as her key to freedom from Kanto's hands.

Instead, Diana's gaze cut to the chair bolted over the grate, her mouth closing before any CUTIEFLIES could find a place to fill it.

"I assure you, Mr. Quinn, my loyalties remain to Rocket and Rocket alone. I owe the group at least that much." Details be spared.

Though, the thought eating away at her mind like an annoying pest was: what did he need her to do here in Hoenn?

"Am I required to use this new identification or this home? It is generous of you, but I'm sure I could manage housing on my own..." She paused.

Though he had mentioned MILTANK.

"Do you think that they're interested in the MILTANK? Dragons tend to be carnivores, right?" Though, after taking another glance around, she shook her head.

"There's something in the ground they want. Surely it's not the stock."

Diana took a few steps away from Remiel, the CYCLIZAR trailing behind her. She observed the craters in the ground, scattered across the field. "Is there any valuable mines nearby? Maybe something is calling to them."

[attr="class","diana"]Approaching the North Wing of the Rocket submarine, Diana entered a rather scientific-looking room as instructed. As she was told, she was to attend training, and she had heard that this Rocket individual had potential of ruthlessness.

She wondered if such rumors were true about THEO BECKETT.

After her conversation with Cillian Quinn, she decided it would be in her best interest to obey orders instead of questioning them. After all, she had signed the contract with jayden cross.

"Good morning," Diana offered politely in greeting, coming to sit on the offered seat.

Remiel seemed to have met her lips with same need she displayed, leaving her almost breathless. She could have only imagined sharing such a moment with him to have been spectacular.

It seemed to have surpassed expectations.

The snake hissed in her ear. "More. You need more."

Though another thought intermingled. "Remember why you're here. Lower his guard. Make him trust you. Trust us."

Diana's brows furrowed as his tongue began to pry into her mouth, but their kiss was short-lived and ruined. She was pulled from her dream=like state by his hand pulling her own away from his face, along with his apology.

"Remiel. Wait, I-" But he was gone before she could speak another word.

With a loud sigh, Diana put her face in her hands, rubbing her eyes tiredly in a pitiful self-loathing before standing to tidy away the rest of the living area and slink to her bedroom.

[attr="class","diana"]Diana almost flinched when his hand touched hers. When had it been that they had touched so intimately? Their dates had been supervised, having been young, royal teenagers at the time of their engagement. They weren't given the chance for more than something like this.

So, why did it seem so wrong for her to want more?

She was nothing more than the snake invading the Garden of Eden, there to tempt mankind into sin. They were friends, nothing more. Yet there was a tug there that urged her forward.

Maybe he was the snake, instead.

Diana said nothing, staring at their hands until she made a split second move. Her hands rose away from his, reaching to touch his cheek, and she leaned in toward him. Oh, to kiss him, was all she wanted in the world right now, attempting to pull him closer.

Perhaps she was beginning to put the pieces of who this man was together. Though she still held a sense of fear, Diana became more bold by the second.

"I have no reason to be feeding him information or the League. Neither party has benefitted me. While I understand your skepticism..."
