how cool, how mysterious - if it weren't for how cliched it sounded. [break][break]

the woman has to stifle in laughter, but she's casual enough to let a chuckle out. "hah..!" she lets slip instead, ignoring those hoping to help fit her into the fancy looking dress laid out in front of her. "you need to think of better lines, boss~" it's a gentle jab at his taste, but she won't lie and say it wasn't the tiniest bit endearing. or, y'know, it would be endearing if you ignore who it came from. [break][break]

clumsiness and obliviousness can be appreciated, though. [break][break]

he leaves the room, and the little devil is already smiling brightly to the other helpers here to assist. never has she had someone help her dress, but considering how expensive and fancy the material is, she doesn't make any effort to stop them. why would she try to stop people from dressing her up in something lavish? why would she pass up the opportunity to feel like a princess? she's be a fool. [break][break]

they take some time between fitting her into the proper dress and properly styling her hair. they take some time between applying make up and changing her from her casual wear. her thick hair is pulled back into curled locks, tied up into the back while retaining the locks of blue that fell over her face to obscure an eye. it's something that she insisted - it makes her feel more like herself. [break][break]

the blue hair is adorned with white flowers, strings with lilies tied between them. pearl beads decorate her, as does white silk from head to toe. the heels, as well, are surprisingly comfortable. the dress itself is sleeveless, with an open back of pearl strings and beads decorating the opening. it's snug against her figure, but still breathable. yes, she quite likes this. when she's finished, the door opens, and she wears a smile on her lips while her heels click with her steps. "all done, boss~" the open slit gives her legs enough space to breathe, and it flutters behind her quick strides. "how's it look?" she asks, knowing she looks good - it doesn't stop her from doing a quick turn around as to show off a figure she's proud of. "looks really good one me, doesn't it? tell me it does~."

ohhh there was a cold place in oldale. [break][break]

she never bothered to leave oldale after moving in, but there was talk about how there was a big dragon that descended. the younger ones moved out, while the older ones who couldn't let go of tradition were stubborn, and refused to move out. maybe that's why they liked her so much. [break][break]

on the contrary, her snom seemed to be having the time of her life. the little tick is more than happy to be in the cold. eilidh would, too, if it weren't so eerie. [break][break]

there's comfort in the silence, though.

hoenn had a safari zone. [break][break]

if she recalls, paldea didn't have anything like that, did it? nor did galar, or wherever else she's travelled to recently. it's a novel idea to her, though probably something that the locals are too used to. honestly, the idea of it makes her think "baby's first pokemon capture", even if it's kind of endearing, to a degree. [break][break]

to her left is a snom who follows, slowly, and slowly enough for eilidh to reach down and scoop up the little thing with a smile on her lips. "aaaalright, c'mon. i don't want you falling behind."

thank god. [break][break]

her sign language wasn't too rusty; it was still pretty rough around the edges, but still good enough for her to understand. the child seems to understand, as well, which is good. they sign to her some more, although it takes her a little bit to properly form the words in her head before she can understand. they're even kind enough to show her how to ask a question, bless their soul. [break][break]

she raises a hand to place against her chin, then pulls it away with a thank you. however more as a way to help her remember, she carefully tries to replicate the MILLE signed out to her. there's a pause as though she's unsure as to whether or not she got it right, but the lack of response tells her that she's probably right. good, she can commit this to memory. [break][break]

"mille, then." she says it vocally for herself, despite knowing the youngster can't exactly hear her. that's fine, they don't need to hear. [break][break]

'i'm pretty new here, too' she smiles, giving a wink followed by 'and battling isn't really my strong suit, oops.' she lightly taps the top of her head with one hand, less in a sign language gesture and more in a childish, playful one. maybe it was obvious based on how the wooper was just.. happy waddling around, eventually.. dropping onto the ground, and rolling on its side. it has the little sticks poking out of the sides of its face as a way to dig into the dirt, going.. 'woooooooo' like an accelerating wheel. [break][break]

it takes everything in her not to look over and laugh. [break][break]

'sorry for my wooper' she tries to sign, disregarding the shaky hands as she stifles her laughter.

not only was the car a cushion, fancy beyond belief, he could so easily wave his hand and give her a room that she swears, is the size of her entire shop (it's an exaggeration, but to she who used to live in a shoebox, this was a luxury she never got the taste of). granted, if you raised a dog on slop then finally gave them a steak, they would ravage it down like a beast and grow greedy for more. [break][break]

eilidh is careful, though. [break][break]

she is no beast; she knows how to relish in the gold. one look at the dress elicits a hum - at least he knows how to keep his word. she almost feels foolish for, at one point, thinking she was asking for something outlandish from her boss. this reminds her that he can use her as much as he'd like - just as much as she'll use him. it's a give and take, if you ignore the obvious shift of power in his favor. [break][break]

"wooow~" she hums, with all decorum thrown out the window. she doesn't try to hide her bewilderment, rather embracing it despite the maids and their stoic expressions. "such a fancy dress? just for me?" the woman coos, ruby red eyes circling around both dress and holder. "i'll try this one on, first." she chuckles, like she was shopping at the highest quality brand. [break][break]

"where'd you even get this from? it's only been a few days." she tilts her head, gently taking some of the carefully sewn fabric between her fingers. it's silky and smooth, light against her touch. if a glance didn't speak for its quality, the material said it all.

"alright, cool." a moment of her usual demeanor slips through, though it can be just as easily brushed off when she punches the order into the register. she's about to pass the cookies over to him, only for the tiny frame of a SNOM to slowly trudge along the glass of the display case. the little tick lets out a small cry to grab both man and trainer's attention. [break][break]

the ice bug already has a small bag on its back, held by the little spikes. the soft pincers click together in excitement when it feels eyes on itself. eilidh smiles more, and stifles in a chuckle. "pfft-- your total is two pokedollars." she tilts her head to the snom, who excitedly clicks her pincers together again. "the cookies are on the house. she just gets really excited when people buy them." because it gave her work, and the display was close enough that the customer didn't have to wait. [break][break]

"hope you don't mind slightly chilled cookies, by the way." the woman hums, glancing back to the vulpix and eiscue who already work on the drink.

sweet words for someone who claims he's so bad with women. [break][break]

sweet words she won't be fooled by. [break][break]

she doesn't respond with much, save for a happy, drawn out chime of "see you~" paired with a lazy wave. she'll be waiting for the measurement call, and will be waiting for the dress order. if she's lucky, she probably won't have to worry about doing up her hair - although she wouldn't mind putting on some temporary hair dye. [break][break]

the less people who recognize her as the country bumpkin cafe owner, the better. [break][break]

so she maintains her smile, waving him off until he reaches the door. once he's gone, however, she lazily nods her head, and lays it back into her arms. [break][break]

back into the nap she's sorely behind on.

see? he understands the agenda. [break][break]

it's amazing just how much gets done when she's quiet and obedient. it's amazing the things you can do when you put your head down and stay in your lane. for how humiliating it can be to be a dog under someone's thumb, it's oddly rewarding when she can get something out of it, too. in this case, a free dress, her boss' good graces, and what's practically a free ticket to indulge in her expensive tastes. homebody she may be, she can enjoy the high class food. [break][break]

"aw, you're too sweet to me!" the sweetness in her voice is exaggerated when she raises her hands to cup her cheeks, a smile warm across her face when she leans her head into the palms of her hands. the honey that leaks from her tongue almost makes her gag, but she pushes down the temptation for the sake of the bit. excited school girl play aside, she uses this moment to move over to the display stand of pastries. just then, the tiny tick of a snom waddles slowly across the counter, with a small bag of home-made cookies stuck on its icy back - as though to offer to the rocket scientist. she doesn't seem to understand that he isn't a customer, but she's trying all the same. [break][break]

eilidh can't help but grin at the display, following up with a hum and "white, i like wearing white~." she raises a hand to gently pat the top of the little worm's head. "black or white, specifically. simple, elegant, clean, and--" she gently scoops up the snom, shortly after putting the bag of cookies in front of the man to take "don't you think they compliment each other well?~"

he looked cold. [break][break]

were the springs in hoenn so cold? were the rain and showers so freezing? if she had known, maybe she would have given a little more attention to the flowers out in the back. there's quite a few things she'll have to check, but at least the inside of her quaint shop was warm enough that he shouldn't have to spend too much time trying to warm back up. [break][break]

thankfully, the order is quickly taken - and behind her starts the whirring of a coffee machine. the open machines are left out in the open for no reason other than to watch her pokemon prepare orders; in this case, it's the alolan vulpix trotting around with pouches or other ingredients in her snout. [break][break]

"alright.. galarian macchiato and.." the woman pauses, quirking a brow at the customer's question. her arms cross, and one of them raises to lightly tap a finger against her cheek. "hm.. you can't go wrong with kalosian croissants.." she ponders, glancing to the display case stationed next to the register. it's as she's pondering does she momentarily light up, quickly moving down the display case until she comes across a row of bagged, flower-shaped cookies. "but these, i make in house. not too sweet, and it's mostly hints of vanilla with cinnamon~" [break][break]

she's proud of her craft, and you can't blame her - she thinks the cookies turned out pretty cute.

he's letting her pick, what a luxury. [break][break]

the idea of being a dog doesn't exactly strike a nerve, nor does it strike any interest. it's the tantalizing allure of safety and security that this man has offered her that she can't turn down, and perhaps it's something she's let blind her momentarily. she knows better than to think that the pleasant treatment was due to any personal affection (it never was; she's reached a point where she can't even delude herself). [break][break]

the first mission sounded fun, and very in her element. information brooking, information stealing, data breaching and intel? she can do that; she's done it in the past. it's what's grabbed the attention of rocket to begin with. what catches her attention was the second proposition; the premise of it was so ridiculous she couldn't help but to laugh. [break][break]

"hah..!" she chuckles, the smile reaches her eyes. "you need a date? i never thought i'd live to see the day." considering the playboy millionaire vibes he gave her. sure, he had the skills to back up the money on his mouth. she just couldn't believe that he would go as far as to ask her of that, just to deal with a crowd of women? hysterical. [break][break]

but "sure, i'll do you one better." red eyes nearly gleam beneath the shadow of turquoise locks, an amused smile on her lips as she leans her cheek against the knuckles of a closed fist. her other hand has a finger lightly tap along the countertop. "i can do the first mission alone, then send you the information. easy." again, nothing she has never done. in fact, she's very confident in her ability to grab information. it's not like anyone was tailing her. [break][break]

"and, since you came all the way out here," she'll humor him "i'll be your date, too." [break][break]

not without a small price, of course. eilidh may be picking the collar, but she isn't that generous of a willing dog. "but~. you're getting me a dress and getting me ready. i don't have the eye for fancy shit."[break][break]

if she's to be bound by a collar, it will be the most lavish one of the bunch.

oh, they weren't just mute. they were deaf. [break][break]

that makes a lot more sense, and makes her a little more reluctant to fight - especially when it looks like their pokemon was just revving up and getting ready to fight on their own. she has to wonder: will they be okay? when she takes a look at her wooper, who looks more happy being able to lay on solid ground, however, she.. has nothing to worry about. oh, no, they'll both be fine. [break][break]

but now eilidh has another problem on her hands (literally). someone who was deaf.. she could just use sign language, couldn't she? it's times like these where she's glad that she spent so much time chronically online; it gave her time to pick up another skill, whether it be via online or during her time trying to ascertain a new kind of identity.[break][break]

so, hands raised, she begins to gesture her message, at the same time repeating what she said, verbally. hopefully it would be easier to comprehend with lip reading and gestures. "don't worry about it." she starts, wearing her gleeful smile. "are you a new.." she pauses, mulling over the gesture, then raising both hands up. one to hold one finger up, and the other to quickly hook two fingers in from the side. that should be it, right? "recruit?" [break][break]

she tilts her head for the question mark, unsure how to communicate a question or tone otherwise. it's been a while. [break][break]

this time, however, she tacks on an apologetic smile along with the signing. "i'm a little rusty, i'm sorry."
