All she'd seen was pure crimson, the difference in strength between not just herself and the beast, but the denizens of Hoenn alongside her in this burning desert, despite the power of her pokémon compared to a human being like herself, it hadn't stopped her from running to her Clefairy, hoping to protect her from the blast even if it meant using her own body as a shield for the little pixie pokémon, clinging desperately to the denizen of the moon.[break][break]

In the brief moment before the blast had fired, she'd cried out, desperate to maintain confidence and composure, though a crack in her facade and voice making it all too apparent just how dangerous the situation was becoming, "Allende, Copycat! The Torterra!" she'd pointed hurriedly to Eduardo Hisakawa and his Torterra, the climbing vicious vines that struck the grand titan the clear target of her Clefairy's copying move.[break][break]

A slight swirl of her Clefairy's finger with a great, powerful battlecry, Pippi! A strangle of vines erupted from the grass-ridden sands surrounding the two girls, barely shielding them as it climbed towards the widened hole in the monster's armour, hoping to deal a decisive blow to its weak point.

Despite the protective layer of fluff, Roze nor her Clefairy had come out of the Registeel's fury unscathed, a low hiss of a groan of pain escaping the conservationist's mouth as she'd recovered from the earthshaking blow that had still impacted through the layer of cotton down. Yet in the quiet had been howard slayte, ushering her to remain quiet, and in this brief moment, she'd simply nodded while nobody could see. Roze wasn't aware of the circumstances, she realised that any decision she made would have consequences. For now, she'd have to buy time to sort out things out. More chaos from any infighting was the last thing they needed—worst of all, she couldn't bear to think of what might happen if she'd outed the wrong man or done so without understanding his circumstances. She'd respected the service and knowledge of the archaeologist at least, and saw how much he cared about pokémon.[break][break]

As the cotton down dissipated, lost to the sands and wind, she'd turned back to Gwyar Wledig, "Right, my apologies, Mister Wledig," she'd said simply, "I'd just felt it was best to try to help those who were in need," she'd added further. She'd turned back to the masked archaeologist, "well, please do your best to stay safe, sir," she'd said with a polite smile, acting as though she didn't recognise the man, walking past him over to her Clefairy who'd been sitting atop the Skeledirge licking her wounds, "let's hurry, Allende," she'd offered a hand to the Clefairy—a pokémon who'd understood the dire situation less than her trainer—the lackadaisy pixie pokémon using her trainer's arm to climb atop her shoulder, waving a sad bitter goodbye to the Skeledirge she'd seemed to bond with for the brief moment she'd mounted him as a steed.[break][break]

As she'd made her distance from the armored stranger, following alongside Gwyar, it seemed the conservationist just couldn't remain still, overhearing the shouts of a white-haired gentleman she hadn't recognised (oscar clayton), coordinating with a former member of the party that she'd tagged along with whilst battling the Lost earlier this day (Yuina Higashi), "my apologies, Mister Wledig," she'd offered in a formal manner, already seeming intent to break her agreement not to stray too far, before rushing off once more like a little bird free in the wind, "Miss Higashi, we're here to help!" she'd cried over the wind and sand, hurrying alongside her Clefairy—giving the little fairy type pokémon an upwards toss to further close the distance as it seemed Yuina and the mysterious man were coordinating for a decisive blow.[break][break]

Roze hoped the combined attack was good enough to prevent the incoming rampage as the Registeel began to stampede towards them—its blows sure to bring ruination. The Clefairy had landed upon the sand on her little feet, hurriedly waddling closer to Yuina and her Venusaur, waggling her little finger as a warm glowing mote flew to the Venusaur, a Present that would help empower the flurry of leaves soon to rain upon the monstrous mountain of steel approaching.

As the skies darken with scarlet clouds, the brief moment that the Grassy Terrain had been dissipated only to be quickly replaced once again by the efforts of a distant trainer and their Vileplume, the sheer insanity of the rain of boulders across the desert battlefield, squalls of sand kicked up, surging flashes of heat. Roze refused to falter however, spurred further by her concern for those around her and those that would be impacted if such a dangerous beast were to continue its rampage.[break][break]

Not even the glassing beams—multi-directional and grossly incandescent in such a manner it'd cause a Claydol to dizzy—that seemed to strike the ground close to the armoured man she'd been trying to assist had made her think twice, her focus wholly brought to identifying who needed immediate help.[break][break]

Her focus far too tunnelled on the others that she hadn't noticed the danger she herself had been put in, noticing far too late at the cry of a familiar voice coming from an altogether unfamiliar figure, the conservationist of a ranger had barely uttered a rather surprised "Professor...?" as her vision became obscured by the man's cape. While she hadn't given the command, her Clefairy had taken the initiative to try to protect both herself and the Skeledirge she'd been riding atop of, as well as the two trainers they'd belonged to, wagging her fingers with haste and a soft Pi! of a cry as a Metronome had converted into a Cotton Guard, surrounding the two pairs in a defensive burst of fluff.

A recent interest in the local ecology around this volcanic region had a particular conservationist revisiting the area rather frequently, at first having dropped by the infamous jagged pass nearby for soil samples and their effectiveness in upkeeping a variety of flora, and now coming by to study the various pokémon who lived in such sweltering hot conditions even if the base of the volcano wasn't quite as hot as it was closer to the peak.[break][break]

Roze had been on her way down from the peak of Mount Chimney, followed closely by her dear Altaria, Cloudy, she'd mostly been taking notes on what lived nearby, wanting to confirm things with her own eyes rather than rely solely on second-hand information. She'd noticed from afar a strange happenstance, a figure seeming to teeter from a precarious height, she'd been too far, but she'd had to try anyway, a quick whistle to communicate to her Altaria faster than words could relay, a quick point in the right direction, and the songbird had dashed to assist in a flutter of cloudy down.[break][break]

As the silhouette of the unknown pokémon seemed to fall, Roze had noticed another pair—a trainer and his pokémon?—rising to the occasion and trying to save the victim of gravity, yet just barely missing, only to have bought enough time for Cloudy to swoop by and catch the victim out of the air in a soft pillowed landing, fluttering down near the man and his Honchkrow and letting the saved pokémon off free. Roze had hurried down to catch up, a little haphazard as she slid down a steep slope in hopes of checking on the safety of those involved.[break][break]

"Is everyone alright?" Roze had called out from afar, slinging her backpack off her shoulder, already pulling out an emergency aid kit in case she'd need to help any further.

While she'd been working alongside Yuina Higashi, Gwyar Wledig and onyx straub during their battle against the Lost, with the sheer scale and the number of other—potentially even civilian—trainers scattered about the desert surrounding the living relic, she'd thought it best to help out those around her, trusting in her slap-dash group's own abilities to either fight or escape if necessary. "Thank you for your hard work, and good luck!" she'd managed to shout back over the ever-rising cacophony of chaos before racing off to look to help support those around her.[break][break]

As she'd bound forward, steps that sunk into sand and kicked up the grains had become softer, each footfall caught by dew-covered grass and flowers as the area surrounding the titan shifted into a Grassy Terrain, Roze wasn't sure just who'd done it, but realised the helpfulness of it in holding their ground against the steel monolith.[break][break]

"Allende, let's send out some help, dear!" Roze had called out, letting loose a rather energetic, small Clefairy from a poké ball, who'd hopped atop her trainer's shoulder as they'd raced to help. The first person Roze had ended up spotting had been a man in odd armour and his Skeledirge. Her Clefairy understanding the situation, had hopped from Roze's shoulder, making rather impressive air as she'd landed atop the Skeledirge's back, assisting in bolstering the pokémon's Solar Beam with a rather well-timed Present![break][break]

As Josh explained the seeming air of mystery surrounding the odd look-alike pokémon, Roze had made sure to commit that information to heart, somewhat interested in their stark similarity to other pokémon.[break][break]

Yet as Josh had gone ahead, climbing higher, Roze had noticed a dark corner that seemed somewhat submerged, curiously approaching the watery parts of the ruins. The closer she stepped to inspect the water, the more puzzling it seemed. Yet before she could look even closer, a sudden burst of draconic energy had erupted from the depths. Roze had squinted her eyes shut, instinctively lifting her arms to try to protect herself. Though her Duraludon had taken the brunt of the fireburst, defending his trainer from the ambush.[break][break]

As the water's surface continued to tremble, a Kingdra had risen from the deep, roaring at the duo for invading its territory, "thank you, Stormy, now let's return the favour, shall we?" Roze had said with a soft, yet confident smile, patting her Duraludon on the back as he stepped forward, shining brilliantly before reflecting back the damage dealt from the Dragon Breath with a beam of its own in a decisive Metal Burst.[break][break]

Before the Kingdra could escape, Roze had thrown a poké ball with the hope of capturing it, it was a unique opportunity to further study the ecology surrounding these ruins. Yet, before anything else, the sound of an explosion going off had gotten a hold of her attention, prompting the conservationist to head upstairs to check on Josh regardless of whether or not she managed to catch the Kingdra.[break][break]

"Is everything alright?" she'd called out, her vision somewhat obscured by unsettled dust and smoke.

As the rain began to clear, with the assistance of the other pokémon, the Quaquaval had managed to ride his way up the bursts of water, climbing higher and higher towards the gargantuan creature.[break][break]

Yet as the dust settled, Roze's worry was beginning to show on her face, the giant Sigilyph still floating, domineering and tall, despite all the damage they'd dealt thus far. Despite it seeming to be approaching its last legs, she couldn't help but notice her Quaquaval beginning to slow down somewhat as well. She'd looked towards the other three trainers, hoping they were doing fine on their parts. Nonetheless, she'd felt she couldn't slow down at this point, hoping to deal decisive damage alongside the others.[break][break]

"Just a little further, Sunshower!" Not-Yuina had done her best to reassure her Quaquaval, letting the dancer take his own steps with trust, Sunshower had fired an Aqua Cutter from his aerial highground.

As the dust cleared from onyx straub's souped up Night Slash, with the gargantuan beast still standing yet seemingly quite hurt, the inclement weather of wind, rain and sand howled onwards. It seemed the titan had more to add to the freak storm as it rained brilliant light from above, nearly striking the boulder Roze had hidden behind. Yet with the haphazard bursts fired from the Sigilyph it was clear that this was some sort of desperation attempt, and the violence with which it was firing, Roze felt her next steps necessary.[break][break]

"Sunshower, we're stepping up," she'd said surprisingly sternly for the first time, stepping out almost brazenly from behind cover, her eyes fixed on trying to recognise the pattern of the lightshow, "Aqua Jet, Sunshower! Aim for the top eye, please!" she'd called out, the dancer surrounding itself in streams of water and bounding forward, almost seeming to ride some of the light trails upwards as Roze whistled non-verbal directions—barely able to be heard over the chaos of weather and battle, yet daring to strike true as Roze kept her eyes on the pattern—focused enough that she hadn't even flinched—rather not even noticing—from a blast that had been only a handful of inches away from her, stepping past the kicked up sand to maintain vision, hoping this'd bring down the grand titan before it caused further damage.

"Let's keep things steady, Sunshower, give Ms. Straub a Helping Hand, if you would," she'd called further, the shiny dancer following through as brilliant energy seemed to reverberate from within with each step the bird pokémon took, filtering towards the Greninja and further empowering the ninja frog, making sure to assist in shoring their defenses and bolstering those that were ready to attack the Sigilyph for a decisive strike.[break][break]

"The winds are picking up, be careful!" she'd done her best to shout over the billowing winds and heavy rain.

She'd been curious enough to notice the antagonistic relationship between her seniors towards the strange seemingly affluent onyx straub, though she'd had little time to comment on it herself, noticing the shimmering barrier that had surrounded the Sigilyph shattering with Gwyar Wledig's breakthrough, "wonderful work, Mr. Wledig!" she'd shouted positive reinforcements, her positivity and relief rather apparent on her face and body language.[break][break]

"Sunshower, let's follow suit, we'll help Ms. Higashi, a little bit of Coaching, please!" she'd called further, her Quaquaval had dashed to the aquatic ronin, graceful and agile, a frenetic set of steps seemed to boost morale and power—to further bolster the Samurott—and set a tempo and direction to hopefully further their cause.[break][break]

In all her energy, Roze had been somewhat swept up in the flow of things, failing to notice the strange runing upon the behemoth's wings, though even if she had noticed, her expertise laid firmly within biology rather than history and society.
