well. this kind of sucked.

this being that kasper's job had suffered from the effects of the battle. they probably cared a little less than they would have otherwise- which, in their defense, it was a food service job- until they realized their source of income was pretty much gone.

the other thing that kind of sucked was the fact that they had tried to help some weird dog- and they're sure that the sparkly bandaids scattered across their arm tell the story of that battle. they still hurt. honestly, they should probably go to a doctor or something, but-

again. no job. the idea of the absolute mess they're in makes them almost want to curl up on the sidewalk for a few minutes, but they- through some willpower or the fact that the sidewalk looks kind of gross- go for the most drawn out, dramatic sigh they can manage instead.

the lights were...something! kasper had almost forgotten about them in their worry about the guitar, and now, with them as bright and eye-catching as ever, they find it hard to forget about.

which....worked, honestly, considering their whole thing was to be as disruptive as possible. the guitar- which is maybe a little bit out of tune (or do guitars just sound like that sometimes?) strums along, and kasper- kind of wishes they had brought a guitar pick or something with them. long before the end of the night, their fingers are going to be tender from plucking at the strings so much.

kasper was...admittedly okay with being underwater. it was heights that they found they didn't like, more often than not. so when they had heard about the clamperl diving, it hadn't taken long for them to decide to go for it, splashing unceremoniously under the water. unfortunately, they were also human, so their blind grasping had been cut short once they thought they had hold of something solid.

delighted as could be, and without looking at what they had grabbed in an attempt to not spoil the surprise (and to not hurt their eyes), they broke the surface of the water.

regardless of if the joke made any sense or not (it didn't), the trick seemed easy enough. so, with the mantine they had maybe sort of befriended diving out of the water in an attempt to do this trick. at least if they didn't manage to pull it off, the only thing waiting for them was water.
