Maybe, Vespa isn't famous for thinking things through. Maybe, she isn't really famous for thinking thoughts in the first place - or maybe, the opposite, with too many thoughts storming her mind at any chosen moment. Maybe, there are more flaws to this growing-up teenager than one would bother to count. But there is one thing that is certain and that is ... well, once Vespa starts something, she might as well try to finish it. Somehow. Maybe. ... On good days.[break]

Nonetheless, she is equipped with some of her Pokémon, actually having left a few of her usual 'staples' back home as she wouldn't want to put the Grookey at any risk. Instead, he's back home, probably singing to some of the berry trees right now, and that's perfectly alright. She doesn't feel like breaking down, just because her emotional support monkey isn't here. ... She might grip both of her friends' shoulders a little hard, though, as they venture out for the kind of task they have signed themselves up for. "Are we ready to go? Does anyone need anything?" she finally lets go after a moment, storming the whole venture with a mischievously-looking Misdreavus by her side, eyes glowing golden amidst the darkened night. Even the moon is hiding behind clothes, its waning form only so much of a light source for those heroic high schoolers.

Once they landed, there is a brief moment of silence between Vespa and the Roaring Moon by her side - a brief moment of nothingness, until she gives the other a grin and a thumbs-up, still feeling a little wobbly on her feet, even after such a short ride. But this ... is the Sky Pillar, huh? Her gaze is wandering as she walks towards Josh again into an easier hearing distance. As they are on solid ground again with the danger of wild Pokémon surrounding them, she is quick to bring out the Falinks Squad, too, her usual helper and most battle-prowess one in these times.[break]
[break]
It's another reminder to her that the world isn't as kind - isn't necessarily as weird and whimsical as she perceives it as, but that there is something like a cruel notion, too. Only that she hasn't quite been subjected to the same, in her sheltered bubble of a private school where things rarely seem to reach to begin with. "Oh ... I see," she lets out with a solemn silence, not quite knowing what to reply in turn. "Do you want to, uhm, talk about her? Or we can just leave it, dunno, err, whatever works for you," she voices the thoughts that turn inside her empty head, never quite having had to deal with such a thing.[break]

In the meanwhile, one of the Falinks troopers have sneakily secured a Pokéball, finding a worthy opponent in a roaming Annihilape that they promptly challenge - and catch in her stead, alerting the young student with a ping! of her smartphone of the capture. The brass looks quite pleased with the Squad as she glances over to them.

Though Vespa is quite certain now that she is talking with an actual human and not some prank by the Misdreavus, the words that leave the other are ... quite strange, too. Is she interacting with some sort of a cultist right now? What the heck is he talking about? "Uh ... right," she says slowly as she nonetheless comes to a halt in talking distance of the stranger. "Who's that father you're talking of again? Or, like. Father. I guess." Is it a bad thing to ask this person? But she is ... curious nonetheless, how someone could also end up in the same place as hers without so much as a direction.[break]

Petalburg ... Petalburg ... "Maybe ... that way?" she points into a random direction, though the icelands have blurred her perception quite so. "Or no ... wait ... that's the one I came from, which isn't - or maybe ... uh ..." Her thoughts adrift, she ponders, gears clicking in her mind almost audibly as she is faced with one of the greatest mysteries of the day: Where, kindly the heck, are they?[break]

Before she can have a breakthrough, however, she suddenly yells out a "Oh!", running off into a direction where she saw a Klinklang, and throwing a Pokéball at it all the same. The Misdreavus, in the meanwhile, is looking between trainer and stranger with an almost friendly yet quite eerie kind of smile, almost suggesting to the stranger that he could tag along.

"Uh-hum," Vespa only replies when the other turns over the question as she instead turns her attention to the cave they find themselves in now. The Cyclizar that came with her is staying nearby, something curious in its eyes that reflect the look of many of her actual Pokémon. Speaking of, did that Misdreavus make it into the simulation this time? Hah ... she surely seemed to be attached to her in a few other situations. But before she can think further about it - before she can even accept the handkerchief that was so kindly offered to her, a chill runs down her spine upon the sight of something familiar. Eerily familiar. Uncannily familiar.[break]

"Huh? Oh ... oh - yeah, sorry, I just ... don't know," the young student mutters finding some of her senses again as she hears the other's voice. She shakes her own head in disbelief, turning away from the Wishing Star as she yet shudders. As she feels something along her spine once more, it's a more comforting cool - perhaps, the Misdreavus is finally showing up. With a lopsided smile, Vespa is finally acccepting the handkerchief with which to drench some of the sweat she hasn't noticed until now, eyes firmly away from the purple pulsating something. "Just ... something I saw in a different simulation, I guess? Why I - kinda wanted to be away. It's a wild thing, that stuff. W-I-L-D," she explains - rambles on, hands gesturing in the air to emphasise the cacophony in her own mind as she remembers, and then doesn't. At least for a few more moments, they are safe ...

She is following the other without much resistance or any throwbacks she might have had as a witty teenager (even as a part of her would have also chosen the other path - running right into a cave where they can't tell whether it wouldn't be a dead end or not also sounded a little unsafe), but ... as it turns out, maybe adults are right sometimes. "Y-yeah, I guess you had a good thought going there," Vespa only lets out after a moment, still catching her breath, even though she didn't even run, it was all the Cyclizar's work - one that she is petting now, too, with a little smile on her face. Though she isn't so sure about this whole riding business ... "Have you been in simulations before?" she wonders out loud as she unmounts the Pokémon, looking over to Allegra.[break]

And just speaking of times before ... As Vespa's curiosity leads her further in, there is a sudden sense of fear - a grimace of horror emerges from her usually carefree face as her easy steps come to a halt. "We ... let's not get further-" And she walks backwards slowly, almost coming to a run the more she stares at the Wishing Star - almost running into the ruins of lava ...

Ah - the brass' heart swells at such a good trooper in their team, such growth! It reminds them of the early days of this Falinks, too, how they only learned to coordinate and to communicate as well as right now over the trials and errors and tribunals of fate, time and again ... ah! Such a nostalgic feeling. Bolstering up and squaring up, each of the troopers is feeling the same sentiment as somehow, their movements begin to ... glow, almost, as they perform each step that the brass is yelling. "Next! We are honing our attack!" the brass shouts in reply to the question asked. It's one of their prime attacks, one that they have honed for a long time.[break]

A fiery atmosphere is collecting in this path of the world, one movement faster than the other as it goes - "left - right - left - right - left-" all in one go, over and over and over again ... and then - "we are closing in on the enemy! Don't let it escape! In order, we go - go - go - go!" Performing a Close Combat attack, each trooper is going like a wave at the imaginary enemy, butting their heads against the air - as the last one leaves a pause, as the brass waits, pride-swelled expression, for their newest recruit to join their relentless attack.

In some way, all the Ghost Pokémon that Vespa wished for are now stacking behind and around her in some eerie amalgamation as the scenario makes way for the extensive ideal that Shalin is bringing to the table. Though the young student is muddied into some strange fumes and smokes of the present Ghost types, however, she does not seem the slightest fazed, almost feeling quite at home with all that is going on. In reality, she doesn't have nearly that many Ghost types, left alone the variety present right now, but ... maybe one day. She would pick up the strongest ones and eventually defeat Navy in a battle, to get answers to ... questions she'll have present when it comes down to it. However this time, it seems like Shalin is the first hurdle she has to take on that way.[break]

"Are you really?" Vespa challenges the thought, though there is no malice to be found - only a light jab, a curiosity. She has no troubles taking a backseat to it all and just enjoy whatever the other is cooking up, too, as long as she can enjoy the company of the shadow-ridden Pokémon behind her. Even as they also ... aren't quite as real. ... That's sad, actually.[break]

One after another, the warbling shadows are disappearing behind her, leaving her alone with the Misdreavus and five defunct, disfigured forms that have yet to take definite shape. "So-" Vespa starts, watching Shalin, before changing the course of action, "what are you doing-?"

One ... two ... three ...[break]

Slowly, the young student is opening her eyes, one after another, unsure what she might find this time, but ... hey. She's riding something? This looks very much not like the Hoenn she's used to, much more like a version that could have existed a long, long time ago. Something that her father's friends would probably have some recreation of, with miniature figures of prehistorical Pokémon and things like that. Vespa almost thinks to herself how nice this is when she notices a different person on a Cyclizar as well, waving to the other.[break]

That's as far as she gets before the volcano erupts, and once more, survival becomes quite - extremely - paramount. Fortunately, the Cyclizar seems to know what it's supposed to do, running at a high speed - but when the paths diverge ... Cluelessly, she looks over to the other, shouting, "do you know how to escape this?! Well, this isn't real, but still sucks- I'll follow!" She really doesn't want to know what death is like. (Ironically enough, with her excessive interest in Ghosts and the occult.)

Vespa has her eyes tightly shut when she enters the simulation yet another time - the horrors of the last couple of times still submerging her senses in one way or another. She still has to seek some answers from her father, too, about the way that history may or may not have unfolded before - whether or not he actually entered this kind of simulation before. But the voice that begins to ring is much more ... gentle, compared to all that she heard before, so she opens her eyes hesitantly. There is a sense of urgency, though it doesn't ring as much of a death-or-life situation as she might have been used to.[break]

A gym? She's supposed to design ... a gym? "I want Ghost Pokémon - lots of them," she immediately blurts out when - oh, wait, there is Shalin, too! "What the heck is this about again?" she asks the other instantaneously, walking over. But just as she wished for, there are Ghost types appearing in masses, though snuggled against her with her chilly existence is Quinn Crisp the Misdreavus, cackling into her ear as she likes to do.
