It seems there are indeed more from where one came ... and it seems that they all share one sentiment: Anger. It's understandable, considering the state of all things, and the huge pollution that is going on ... ugh ... but do they truly have to fight? Unlike the Bruxish she fought before with Shalin, the Poliwhirls don't look quite as aggressive. Or, well, they do, but it's more like a response than a natural state.[break]

Ugh! If only thinking were easier, then maybe- she looks around. Wait. Where did one of the trooper disappear to? With wide eyes, she notices with utmost shock how one of the Falinks troopers is separating from the group, curiously approaching a nest-like structure with a group of Poliwags that have been obscured from view by ... "Uah! Look, their home got real messed up!" she whisper-shouts to her friend, unfortunately pointing towards where the Poliwags are hiding, which in turn draws the attention of the Poliwhirls - which ... "Wait, sorry, sorry, we're - we don't mean harm! We can help, okay? Please? See, uh ..." Crap. Does she even have a convincing argument. Uh ... uh ... "Sun, come out! Show them we mean no harm - maybe?" Hahaha ... seeing the sunshine smile of the Grookey, surrounding by a group of hostile Pokémon ... it can only turn out great, right ...

After she has been gracefully allowed to pinch the other's cheeks, she lets the leaves in her hair be removed without a protest, either, even though she hasn't even noticed them before and found it too much of a hassle to have them removed. But, still, before she can even think of replying something to the other about their reunion, it seems that the quiet times are ... quite over.[break]

"This place do be teemin' with Pokémon ..." Vespa mutters under her breath, unsure if Pokémon in this habitat have always been this hostile or if there is something else that is happening. "Squad, let's Protect for now!" she rushes alongside Cassandra towards the Empoleon. It seems a little strange that there is a singular Poliwhirl, she wonders if there are more ... hmm ...

It's pretty surreal, if one would ask Vespa - in a Post Edit, she would be blended in with her name being displayed ("Vespa B.), and some crunchy subtitle to state her age and profession ("old enough to Slay"), and she would be saying ... "Hot dangit." Not that any of her group would hear it since the crowd is irritatingly ecstatic, but she blames it on the awesome trio that they are forming. And Cian, probably. Snorting at his reaction to the announcement, she is officially entering last, all according to them being called out, pushing the sunglasses on her nose just right.[break]

It's freakin' showtime![break]

While she is singing along to the tunes a little here and now, dancing ... quite ... interpretatively, as one could argue, alongside her Pokémon, Vespa only really starts to take the stage when the rap section hits, expressing an emotion rather unusual with the brute-ish force of her usual day-to-day. But a little tenderness just brings out the syllables just right, turning around towards her temporary groupmates with a victory sign.

Vespa nods, unaware of the other's possible disgruntlement, over the task explained. The ranger before must have said something similar as memories flash back ... ah, right, that's what's going on. And it's a land clean-up duty as well, considering she doesn't really have a Pokémon that could help with water tasks. Looking at the Falinks Squad instead, she nods. "Yeah, the Squad can do that pretty well, I think, and uhh ..." She looks out for the Yanmega-Ditto, still buzzing happily in the air. "That's ... uhm, that's a ditto, so I guess if you want it to copy another Pokémon that could help ...?"[break]

She doesn't, however, expect a Type:Null to show up, making her blink several times. It reminds her of Shalin's funky stuff ... Is everyone so stacked? Maybe she should really get her crap together and start to aim for something. "Cool dude," she comments, trying to keep her focus - well - focussed. Now is not the time to ask! Maybe! She should get this done, so she can venture a little and try to find Cassandra, before another ranger finds her to do things with. And wait, what exactly is that Type:Null up to-?[break]

Meanwhile, the Falinks are already on the task, going for a big chunk as they channel a precise Megahorn, breaking a broken steel compartment into smaller parts that they coordinate to toss into the container, opening the way to other debris and wreckage.

Finally, it seems like the Grookey is ecstatic for her to come closer, urging her with his trusted wooden stick. It makes her curious, a chuckle escaping her lips as she leisurely swims over. "So, what do you have for me?" He proudly presents a ... pair of pink sunglasses? It makes her squint. "Where did you get those from-?" she snorts, just wanting to take over the sunglasses to see if she can make out any owner before - oh, oh no, the sunglasses slip and right into the deep below. She doesn't really know anymore what she is doing, though there is a constant drive to only leave the grounds when she can be sure that her friend is safe, too. After all, only because they wanted to meet here today, was why any of them were here in first place. Thus, as she is bidding farewell to yet another figure of esteem and renown, her eyes are looking over the vast expanse of collapsed buildings and broken structures, until-[break]

"CASS!!!" Relief is flooding her mind as she makes her way towards her friend, wanting to make her way over, but she frowns at a pile of large chunks of asphalt and steel constructions that disturb the direct path. Looking at the Falinks Squad, she nods, directing them towards the pile, "Megahorn, let's go!" Luckily, both are standing far enough away from it, but the distance is still quickly crossed once the dust settles and she can finally pinch her friend's cheeks. "Oh Arceus, finally, I've been looking for you everywhere! Are you okay?I'm good, as far as it goes-" Well, her appearance is equally as dishevelled as Cassandra's, but probably that is the thing when roped into something one hasn't come prepared for.

It seems that her friend is, in fact, not where she has been directed towards, but that is probably to be expected. After all, she has been told to wait for some experienced member of the League when she wandered aimlessly throughout the broken wreckages, until someone guided her to where she could be of help while she is on her mission to find Cassandra. Luckily, she didn't have to wait for too long before said person showed up, coming in on an impressively large Vaporeon and introducing himself as Champion and Gym Leader. So ... one of the people she might be fighting in battle one day? Perhaps she should keep an eye out ...[break]

Such thoughts seem far away, though, as it seems more paramount to get a hold on the current situation. "Vespa Baskerville, uh, student? Yes - I, err, was told to come here. My partner, a ditto - err, turned Yanmega - is currently scouting the situation a little ..." she introduces herself, remarking anything she thought would be useful. And, after a pause, "... so, what should I do?"

Watching the rescue mission with awe, it ... does inspire a little, making her reminisce in her mind over the brief talk she had with Michael Navidson during the career day of her school. Maybe being a ranger could be something to aspire to reach? But such thoughts are something left for another day, she surmises, as she has to pay attention to her surroundings to reach the others safely. The fleet of giant bugs are definitely a sight to behold and she only is able to approach the others as the rescue mission is as good as finished. Not that she thinks that she could have added too much to it, anyway.[break]

Vespa looks at the ranger captain with a thoughtful expression, waiting for an opportune moment to eventually pose questions of her own, such as, "Uh ... so, what actually did happen there? Like, you glowing - and - and all that stuff. What was that for an attack? Can I learn that, too? Is that part of being a ranger?" Perhaps, she saw others doing the same, but ... well, none have happened as close as they happen now. "Uh, or if you're busy now ... can I ask you stuff later?" She glances over to the fresh group of rescuees, some not as happy to be riding what they are.

Idling besides the waves, it seems as if she still isn't permitted to come too close, so Vespa decides that while the Grookey is still working on finding something pink in his vicinity (and even lightly trying to see if he can get elsewhere, paddling his feet - it's so adorable), she might as well see if there are other places further away that are worth a look. Still, she ensures that she can at least keep an eye on the Grookey before diving right back into the cool blue.

Looking with satisfaction at the just-caught Lampent-in-the-Ball, she turns back to the trainer with a Porygon, and the Text-To-Speech thing. Right. ... Dee offered help in searching for Nathan the skating Wooper, right? "Oh - uh - sure," Vespa replies with a nod, still a bit bewildered by the offer yet, if only because 'searching for Nathan' is like searching for Arceus. Probably Arceus is easier to find than a Wooper that strands randomly everywhere. But how to say that? "Oh, right - I'm Vespa, by the way," she remembers to introduce herself, "but the thing about - err - the Pokémon I'm looking for-"[break]

She only gets as far, though, as she sees something ... blue-ish in the peripheral of her eyes. Wait- "Jo- Nathan?!" she yells out before a Pokéball is already thrown and - wait ... oh. Oh. That is definitely not Nathan as she hears her PokéDex registering someone new. Would have been weird, if Nathan were to float, to be honest, too, but she wouldn't put it past her, exactly.

To be honest, Vespa half-expected Yasuko to have disappeared - she wouldn't have faulted her one bit if she did, considering the excruciatingly long time that she has been waiting in line to get some snacks for the game, that was probably no already thirty minutes in or so. It sure is tough in this game of life and love ... but, well, since Yasuko is still here, that sure must mean something, right? (Or maybe she was patient enough to look after the Grookey, too, not wanting to leave that big baby alone, for which she also is quite grateful; that silly guy cannot be left without supervision at any time.)[break]

Speaking of, Sun seemed to have had a good time, seeming as chipper as ever and happy over the nachos, too, looking at how Yasuko is dipping one in cheese and eating it, and doing the same - but instead of eating it, he offers it to the other's Stufful. Vespa, in the meanwhile, looks at Yasuko with a bit of a thoughtful look before smiling, sighing. "Yeah, I guess that's fair enough," she lets out with an amused huff, "thanks for coming anyway, though." Although maybe talking could be a bit difficult ... well, maybe they could just leave early if they wanted to.[break]

Thankfully, their section doesn't seem as crowded and overly immersed as others are, so conversation seems possible for now. "Hm? Me? Uh ... don't think there's much to say. I go to a school in Slateport and uh, have no idea about my future? Riveting, I know," Vespa can only answer truthfully to Yasuko's question about herself, a self-ironic smile adorning her features. "I mean, I grew up in Mossdeep City and never travelled much, but ... uh ... what about you?"
