well, if they were in need of help, maybe she should take some time out of her day (granted, she wouldn't have bothered to look at the request, had someone else not pulled her out of her designing room to smell the flowers). she walks behind a guide and the burlier man, only to find him fall back and walk by her side. [break][break]

she hums. [break][break]

".. mmn.. no, i do not." she replies, then narrowing her eyes towards the ground as her mind wanders. pensive. "i too am at a.. bit of a loss as to how we are going to approach this.."

she doesn't quite understand his energy, but whatever makes him happy, made her happy. though she isn't one for physical activity, how can she turn him down when he looks so excited, and when he's so eager to pull her along? suddenly she can't bring herself to say no. [break][break]

though she glances up at him when he hefts himself above her, and she quirks a brow. wouldn't it be easier to hop onto her garchomp and lift herself up? it would, but to humour him, she wears a slight, amused smile on her lips as she grasps firmly to his hand. ".. be careful, mmn?~"

usually she would spend her time holed up in her office again, trying to think of the next design in line. she's only out because she was invited by a certain someone, who was more than eager to meet and see her. the company of others is appreciated and well spent, and she's used to wearing a smile when she meets them at the door. [break][break]

this time, she's smiling before she even reaches the door. perhaps it's the nature of this visit. perhaps it's the person she's visiting that put a rare smile to her lips. the world may never know. [break][break]

daphne raises her hand to gently knock on the door, waiting patiently - eagerly - for someone to answer. it's only when she glances at her watch does she realize that she was a tad early, and she has to ask herself why she was in such a hurry to get here. [break][break]

maybe it's to see him sooner.

she hums, taking a gander at the food he presents in front of her again. a tinge of pink reaches her ears and cheeks as she eyes the food, though she still leans in to a take a bite; this time brushing some of her golden locks behind her ear, just as a precaution. when she finishes the bite, she glances up to him. [break][break]

"you should eat as well." she says, reaching to another fork and grabbing a forkful of food to hold up to him, as well. it's only natural to return the favour.

this was no laughing matter, but..[break][break]

"if you insist.." she smiles, defeated. maybe she's only fretting a tad bit too much. but now she's away from her desk, and she doesn't think she can go back to working (and though he tells her that he's okay, that won't stop her from subconsciously worrying about his condition, now. it makes her stomach feel uneasy), and instead, she raises a hand to attempt to hold onto his, pushing it down from her forehead. "since i'm away from my desk now.. perhaps we could lounge and chat?" the woman tilts her head "we still have time until dinner, no? and it would be a waste to laze around alone on our day off~."

get a grip on yourself, daphne. he's kind enough to not mind the compliment, which his already plenty she could ask for. she's relieved, and the relief surfaces as a slight, faint smile that tugs at her lips. "mmn.. children can be a bit of a handful." and the absentminded smile broadens "i have several younger siblings, and being the oldest, well~.." she knows how much trouble, all of them must have caused to their parents. [break][break]

"they prepared me for apa-- apatite, no, do not rear your head that that hypno--"

daphne's daft outside of the office, but she isn't oblivious as to miss the discomfort. perhaps she was prying too much, and she poked her stick into a scab that was yet to heal. she can only narrow emerald green eyes as she glazes out to the distance, pensively deciding on her next words. [break][break]

".. i'm sorry to hear it didn't work out." she shouldn't intrude any further. her attempt at small talk seemed to make the man uncomfortable, anyways. she's about to let the conversation peer out, until she sees.. a figure moving from the other side of the ranch. and she squints, trying to get a better look, before gently nudging at the rough scales of her garchomp. [break][break]

"i hate to cut this conversation short, but i think we have company."

obviously, sh doesn't believe him. after all, she's someone who does often eat luxurious, whether she likes it or not. having home cooked meals is rarer than going out to a high quality restaurant, though that's only because she's mediocre at best. even then, she would sometimes find herself being picky, and guilt would wash over her when that was the case (it made her feel ungrateful, selfish). what a relief that she thoroughly enjoys calix's food. [break][break]

"perhaps i'm biased." she smiles as she leans over, taking a bite of some of the food from the fork that calix held up. it's only after she takes the bite however, that she leans back, and a reddish hue surfaces to her lips. she chews, then raises a hand over her lips to speak "... oh, i should have taken the fork, i apologize."

her brows furrow, out of concern. daphne raises her hand to gently press against the side of his head, leaning up to try and get a better look. "you didn't hit your head too hard, did you...?" her lip quirks down, and she pulls herself onto her toes. "i really might bring pearl out to check if anything is wrong--"

there was something endearing about how they rolled around on the field, though maybe she's biased, with a blissey and hoping for a gengar one day. ".. i would recommend going one day, mmn." she's keeping an absentminded eye on the rolling wooloo, though she fears that if she watches for too long, she'll start to fall asleep. [break][break]

"well.. hoenn has undergone a couple of changes." she leans her body against the fence "what brings you out here this time? if you don't mind me asking?"

it sounds worse in her head, and she promptly dismisses the train of thought. nevertheless, he seems like a good father. a good person, and a good father, putting his child first. still being concerned about a stranger he met at the bar. she's fortunate that it was him who she ran into, though she doesn't know if she can call the second encounter a blessing. especially not when he saw her in.. such a sorry state. [break][break]

"mmm.." she hums in response, taking a glance to her own little dragon, who let out a FLAMETHROWER at the duo blades. it scathes the steel pokemon, and daphne immediately pulls out a pokeball to throw at it. less with the intention to take advantage of its weakened state, but only to prevent the bagon from burning it again. "mmn, i think you're a plenty good father~"[break][break]
