Filthy, filthy, filthy. All these dishes were absolutely filthy. She couldn't imagine doing this on a regular basis. Maybe if it was a restaurant that wasn't nearly as popular, it could be a little bit more logical, but here? Everything was selling like hotcakes! Guess that was what she got for volunteering for the lunch shift.[break][break]

Of course, she couldn't help but look back and see the insane amount of Pokemon currently in the kitchen. It was almost too much! Her eyes widened as she shook her head, hoping they wouldn't also make a mess of everything too. "Hey," Ruby called out to her fellow cooks. "Any idea when the lunch rush ends?"

Turns out, the Swablu Shaved Ice was incredibly popular. No wonder, considering the summer heat. Though she did admittedly have to wonder, who named all these dishes? They certainly had catchy names. Was it the dog? Someone else? She had sworn she had seen the drinks a few times before, anyways.[break][break]

Regardless, Ruby quickly summoned her Eiscue. Its shiny pink form was quite apparent. "Come on Pink Lemonade, let's get some Aurora Veils up! Form the ice!" Sure enough, with a little adorable dance, ice began to hang in the air as she summoned her other Pokemon. Pearl, the Dratini was lazy enough to hang around her neck as it used the move Haze. The intense floating ice in the air all clumped together and it was easy to scoop into a few containers.[break][break]

At the same time, her Eldegoss Sweetie was already preparing the scents for the Floral Tea, her Aromatherapy quite focused and precise.

A beast. Or, some kind of pokemon she couldn't recognize. Whatever the case truly was, she almost didn't have time to react before she was about to be grabbed by it. Her eyes widened as Locke Jamison jumped in the way to protect her, watching the beast wiggle back into the pipe with Kazimir. [break][break]

"Oh." Was all she said, she didn't really have words. Confusion was quite visible on her face, struggling to even say anything. Except, maybe she could say a few words for her savior. Looking at Locke Jamison , Ruby would let out a quiet sigh as she spoke. "I'm alright, yeah, thank you. Glad to see you still standing too." [break][break]

Of course, the statement was unsaid but obvious. She certainly trusted the man with her life at this rate. Or at least, 'game' life. [break][break]

Grabbing a few Reaper Cloths that had spit upon the ground, Ruby pushed outside, only to be even more confused. Just how big was this place? How much area did they rent for this contest? It was absolutely wild. Regardless, it was definitely time to explore it all.[break][break]

Groove," Ruby spoke up, turning to her Oranguru. "Take a look around, will you? Future Sight." Sure enough, the Oranguru would focus its energies, seeing into the future as it leaped across the way.

"Come on Byte, we can do this. Just deliver the ingredients to the cooks." Of course, the poor Toxel was quite easily scared. It was quite small, after all. One of many pokemon regarded as a baby, despite anything else. Toxels could be around for a long time, and yet they'd still be called a baby. Perhaps it just had to do with their charm and how much everyone adored them.[break][break]

Regardless, his Rattled nature did lead to him being quite speedy. Carrying the ingredients in a small basket hanging from its mouth, the little guy zoomed across the kitchen, placing the basket down and then running right back, clearly out of breath. [break][break]

"There there," Ruby said, reaching back to brush behind his ears. "You did good boy, let's keep going, alright?"

That would make some sense, with Team Rocket, literal Aliens, and rampaging legends, Hoenn has proven to be quite risky to travel as of late. If you weren't careful with where you went, you could seriously end up somewhere dangerous. [break][break]

At Hideo's own excitement, Ruby couldn't help but blush ever so slightly. She had grown used to brushing with talented trainers and difficult battlers, but hearing it from a child was something else. "You'll get there someday, Hideo! One badge is a great start. Just keep on training, and you'll get there."[break][break]

Reaching over, Ruby would carefully take his hand, should he let her, before placing his finger on a few badges as she talked about them individually. "This one is the Heat Badge, and I got it from Stormy Silph when she was still a gym leader. A duo battle between my Greninja and Indeedee, versus her Steelix and Houndoom. I won the close battle, by having my Indeedee use Healing Wish, to fully heal my Greninja." She'd wait a few seconds, giving him plenty of time to run his finger over the unique badge before moving on.[break][break]

"This one is called the Skyrider Badge, from Alexei Ivanov! He's been a gym leader ever since I stepped foot in Hoenn, and a good friend too. It was a solo battle, with two pokemon each. My Aurorus put in good work before fainting when my Greninja returned to finish the battle. He can change his type after he uses moves! So he turned ghost type, and Alexei's Hawlucha couldn't hurt him! I honestly recommend battling him, he has alot to teach." [break][break]

With a quiet chuckle, Ruby would continue to speak softly. "The real trick to fighting gyms is coming up with a strategy and sticking with it. Learn and adapt when you lose, and you'll eventually overcome anything. Just keep pushing through. Let me know when you beat the elite four, huh? It's only a matter of time."

It was kind of charming, really. After getting her simple tea, Ruby would smile get at Yui as they paid for their drinks. Of course, she had to wonder why she was brought here first. Perhaps she just wanted a drink of her own? That would make sense.[break][break]

Listening to Yui speak, Ruby couldn't help but mentally take notes. So she was indeed related to the Silph family, perhaps even directly siblings. She really didn't know that much about them, but so far they all seemed like nice people. Even if Fernando never did show up to her gym battle. [break][break]

"I don't think I'm stressed about the major, not yet anyway. I'll deal with that when it comes. More so just, I guess being in the public eye is still new to me too. Actually living in Slateport is gonna make hiding from the media a bit more difficult for myself." She'd chuckle quietly to herself, slowly sipping away at her tea. "Just between you and me? HNN is kind of over-rated anyways. When I was only 16 they tried to slander my reputation, so I really just, don't bother anymore."[break][break]

Taking another sip of her tea, Ruby spoke up again. "Are we finding seats, or are we continuing our walk together?"

Legs gently tucked underneath herself, Ruby once again picked up her book to continue to read. She had once again got sucked into her research, the mysteries of the world only too intriguing to her. Sure enough, another distraction pulled her from her research. The young man from before seemed like he was still having trouble. However, she had no idea what to focus on first. Miss Librarian? Eon Duo? Did she really look like the librarian? Did she look old enough for that already? Her wide eyes blinked up at Angelo with confusion for a few seconds before eventually speaking. That was it, that was all she got. She quickly cleared her own throat to continue. "I, um, sorry Sir, I'm not one of the librarians. Just, uh, someone who comes here way too often." Ruby would laugh embarrassedly, slowly placing her book down on top of the stack she had once more. "And please, you can call me Ruby." [break][break]

It was only after the librarian conversation was handled, did Ruby focus on his actual question. Eon Duo. The Legendary Pokemon of Latias and Latios. Quite honestly, she had very little knowledge about them except their names, which was precisely why a book with them as the subject was sitting within her pile. Knowledge really meant everything, when it came to all the surprises Hoenn seemed to enjoy throwing their way. Of course, even she had no idea how much information within was accurate. Such was the case when dealing with beings of myths and legends of yore. [break][break]

"Just, ah, one second." She'd slowly split her stack of books, pulling out one book from the pile and placing it atop her lap for now. "Ah, there we go. Apologies, I was doing some research on my own." Sure enough, any investigation of the rest of the books remaining in her pile would reveal the fact that it was all about legends and myths and similar things. One oddity would be a large atlas of Hoenn, however. [break][break]

"I uh, Already checked it out in my name. But it was going to be a bit before I read it anyways. If you were planning on staying in the library for a while, you could definitely borrow it for a bit. I think. I wasn't planning on going anywhere."

There were already so many Pokemon here from Kazimir Wynter and Remiel Calcifet, it was starting to get a bit crowded. Regardless, Ruby focused on the clean-up, quickly sliding around and cleaning up a few surfaces before Alexei Ivanov came back with the dirty dishes. [break][break]

"Hey, thanks! I was starting to think I was going to have to go out and get them myself." She'd quickly slip on over to the sink, sliding on a new pair of rubber gloves before starting up once more. "How are they doing out there? Everyone looking happy?"

"Come on Peppermint, let's get going!" Sure enough, the Delibird had a surprising amount of Hustle in them. Once they got going on a project, they really didn't stop. To them, delivering these meals was just the same as delivering presents to happy children. People were satisfied all around, and that simply brought joy to their face. [break][break]

However, one of her other Pokemon was a little less... talented, when it came to meal preparation and assistance. Eros the Swoobat, was anything but talented. In fact, they were quite the Klutz. Regardless, after knocking over some pepper into the Omurice, Ruby quickly pulled them away from the food. "Alright, alright, back up dear. Just hold the tools when handed, so we can keep going, alright? Just float there, alright?"[break][break]

The Swoobat simply looked on, only to give Ruby a big ol' kiss in response. At least, they meant well.
