Confused, Kaida pointed towards herself, "I'm Kaida? We've worked together. Sometimes." Even not recognizing most faces, Kaida was aware of who helped her in her jobs, and didn't forget them. Had it really been a long time? Or perhaps it was the hair? It didn't matter though. They were not friends, heavens no, but he was a Ranger, and that meant he was good. Right?

"It's been a while, I think...I'm glad you survived, uh, everything." So not just to leave a person as a memory, "Have you been having fun here? Everyone's battling, it feels very fun to not be in danger here." A small indication of a smile reached her face.

Raziel Beckett

At Kyle's words, Kaida tried to tune the crowd out, to little success. Ah well, just battle. "Triple Battle." She answered, her Pokemon spreading out. Ormr in the middle, the others crowding around him. "Go hunting." She didn't wait for any official start, waving her hand out.

Immediately, Ormr Glared back at the Kommo-o, hoping to subjugate the dragon to paralysis as his eyes glowed an eerie yellow. Beside him, Freya hunched down, eyes narrow as she conjured a Nasty Plot. Finally, following after Ormr's attack, Loki spat a potent Smokescreen, hoping to hide his allies as the simultaneously weakened the enemy and strengthened themselves.

Weaken prey, then go on the attack. It was so simple in strategy, and practically all of Kaida's ideas revolved around this simple plan.

Ekans uses Glare on Kommo-o! Salazzle uses Nasty Plot! Charmeleon uses Smokescreen!

The sudden temperature change forced a shiver from Kaida, immediately replaced by the punishing heat, but in the moment, it was a relief. Turning to find another on the beach, she hurriedly bowed her head, "Thank you." She waited briefly for the conversation to continue, tilting her head as her helper continued onwards...not a word?

Not until she received a question, making her straighten up as she answered, "Yes, they don't like to move from home, so all of them leaving is strange...Od. Go help." She jerked her head towards the ocean, prompting the Inteleon to sigh through his nose and meander over. Two Pokemon, especially with an Inteleon's famed sight, would help more than one.

"I've only just arrived. Do you know when they left?" Some voice in the back of her mind questioned who this was, but she shook it off. Not necessary. She was on the job.

Alice Godfrey

"Mmm, it's my job." Kaida answered easily, taking the outstretched hand in a quick greeting before suddenly pointing at the Ekans at her shoulder, "This is Ormr. Don't worry. He can help." She was no stranger to the oddity of her most trusted partner, but refused to shake the habit of bringing him nearly everywhere, and treated him like at any moment he might just pipe up and talk.

A slight red came to her cheeks as her pride swelled at the reasoning, she didn't doubt her own abilities, but it was nice to get recognition on it. Her seriousness returned however, as Zola stated her own want for training, followed by an idea for training. "You don't actually want to beat a Pokemon, not really." She started to explain, tossing out one of her Pokeballs. "My Pokemon don't hesitate, but they won't try and kill you...without asking me. Others don't do that." She still remembered how quick and suddenly her life had ended, fighting a Pokemon, truly? Ridiculous.

A Scyther emerged in a flash of white, red joints under his green armor intensifying the dangerous aura of a Scyther. "This is Dain. He's a good hunter. Fighter too." She left it unsaid how most Scyther were agile warriors, assuming another Ranger would know. "He can be careful not to cut you bad, if you want." Sensing the other woman nearby, and hearing Kaida, Dain jerked towards Nola and hissed, wings buzzing ominously, "Do not bite hard, Dain." She didn't need a Ranger severe injury on her when she was asked to do this.

Someone was certainly paying for today. The trees that had occupied the beach, providing necessary cover, had literally gotten up and walked away...and Kaida was the unfortunate Ranger that was sent out to the scene on this scorcher of a day. With a sympathetic croon, Nid set up a Safeguard, leaving Kaida to know that she at least wouldn't get burned from this affair.

She had released another Pokemon for assistance, a young Inteleon that tapped his fingers impatiently, clearly too intelligent for this dull work. She hoped he knew to be trustworthy, especially as a newcomer to this pack, he needed to prove himself useful.

Unaware she'd soon have another newcomer, Kaida wiped her sweaty brow and growled. Please let us find you soon. She silently begged the Alolan Exeggutor.

Alice Godfrey

In all honestly, when Kaida received the request to train a fellow Ranger, it gave her pause. Who and what decided that she was an appropriate trainer for anybody but Pokemon? "Not a mistake?" She mumbled to Ormr, the stoic Ekans about as surprised as she was...it couldn't be a mistake, perhaps they should be proud they were so trustworthy?

Rustboro it was, then.

Kaida carried two Pokeballs as she entered the park, immediately looking around and grumbling intelligibly at the public attention. Unlike Zola, she operated best in silence and solitary when training, but she supposed she should manage. She was trustworthy.

She had picked her Pokemon carefully, nothing as grand as a Luxray or Charizard (She doubted any human could reliably "battle" some powerful Pokemon, but the idea was possible, she supposed), instead, she brought Garmr, a Snubble, Dain, a Scyther she could trust to not seriously injure her charge, and her usual partner, Ormr wrapped around her shoulders. Even still, she was certain even Garmr could handle a human, fire and ice tended to dispatch fragile humans just fine and Dain? One Slash could be deadly to most humans. Let it be known that, in battle, she trusted all her partners to dispatch the enemy as fast as possible.

Entering the park, she paused a moment, clarifying she had found Zola, and stepped forward, "You're Zola, correct? Greetings. I'm Kaida." Short but polite, she inclined her head at the other Ranger, briefly pulling her lips up in the semblance of a smile.

The shriek of a Charizard drew eyes from the ground, the fiery lizard screaming upward like a red bullet. Upon its back was a woman who's hair gleamed silver or blue depending on the lighting. She ignored the other raging battles and bade Muspel forward, the Charizard as cheery as ever as she whirled in midair, looking more like she was seeking a playmate rather than a battle.

Kaida herself made the highly visible flight for one reason and one reason only. She had spotted a very welcome face and friend (perhaps one of her first, though she'd never say it out loud) but most of all, the Head Ranger. What could be better practice that than this?

Whether he was already in the skies or not, Muspel hovered near him and bellowed, a small glimpse of Kaida over the beast's shoulders. Even against a Head Ranger, she looked supremely confident. Muspel was one of her best packmates in battle, and had even accompanied her into life-and-death scenarios...she expected to win.

Laurence Anderson

There was alot of fanfare screaming around this match, and Kaida wasn't stupid enough to think it was because of her presence. It was this man. Some memory drifted up from the recesses of her mind, this was something important. Kyle...she thought his name was Kyle. Important person, unlike her.

"Looks like they want a big fight." She noted out loud, petting her Ekans on the head, "Go show yourself, Ormr." Her trusty partner uncoiled, unblinking eyes unflinching at the supposedly strong man in front of them as Kaida released two other Pokemon. A Charmeleon and Salazzle cringing under the sudden crowd that fervently watched this particular battle.

"I think this team is as strong as you." She stated confidently, still not exactly sure who she was looking at...maybe she should pay attention to news more...

She still didn't quite understand her own thought processes in truth, not in social situations, at least. Surrounded by strangers all itching to fight, see a fight, or both, she instinctively sought out a familiar face. Foolish in nature, the goal really should have been to fight as many people as possible, known or not, but she didn't much see reason to fight the newest newbie that tried to invoke the age old "eyes meet" battle.

Until Ormr, her trusty Ekans, startled slightly. Even people they hadn't seen in forever, the serpent knew the smell of...a Ranger they met before! Knowing she sought battles against those she knew, the Ekans tugged his head forward, hissing slightly.

The familiar face was spotted. Razz.

Kaida herself was slightly different, hair finally cut in the terrible heat of the summer, though she dressed as Ranger-ready as always, only barely allowing herself short sleeves. She clutched two Pokeballs, aware of the point of this meeting, "You're...that Ranger."

BATTLE POINT TRACKER

Perhaps not for the first time, Kaida wondered how this disaster had even happened. The droning of news reporter's voices still rung in her ears, an irritating reminder of why she was here, even after all this time.

It wasn't like she was unsympathetic, or unworried. It was a little one, a child, who was in about as much danger as an unsupervised Pichu. It was her duty to find the child. What did irritate her was the inordinate amount of people that crowded the area, groups which she gravitated away from as she released her own partners. She needed no help to dig through a cave.

An awe-inspiring symbiosis of flesh and stone roared forward, her Onix steadily releasing Stone Edge to simultaneously dig through and move rocks. She leaned down to pick up her Ekans, whispering a quiet command next to his head "Try to catch a young human's scent, Ormr." This was a quiet, if tiring job, but she still felt safer with Ormr's coils around her shoulders.

A simple hunt for a child, that was all this was.
