"And by air." Kaida clarified, nodding to Nid as the Dragonair twirled in the air. They'd have to approach by ocean, though. A Dragonair flying towards the pirates would be too obvious.

She leaned forward to note the map, deciding in the moment that it was their best option. The pirates couldn't have gotten far, and they would likely seek a place with space, the Alohan Pokemon weren't exactly small, "It's our best bet. Let's go." The back of her mind told her she couldn't bring a civilian into battle, but she waved off the danger. She could protect her or send her away if the situation turned violent, having a partner was more important in the moment.

"We'll swim there...come on, Jotun." A Pokeball was tossed near the ocean, releasing a great water gator that Kaida leapt on. Waiting for Alice to either hop on or release her own water Pokemon, Kaida set off.

She knew not what anything called The Drowner was, but Kaida wasn't stupid. A great water Pokemon that surfaced during the Three Day War, she had thought it retreated, but the worry that permeated their conversation told her enough. It was still a great danger.

And then a commotion started, peering out the window alongside Lars' Lucario, she hissed under her breath, "Idiots..." People could be stupid, but this stupid? Pokemon had better sense than this. She could hear kim cole-essam talking somewhere in the city, and pointingly ignored it. Another could take care of stupid civilians, if they were not already running, then she'd rather focus on Pokemon...the war had certainly softened her views on civilians, but she still wouldn't tolerate what seemed like an intent to die.

Half her team was returned, leaving her with Ormr on her shoulders, shoving food into his maw in preparatory Stockpile. Orvar zipped around Lars as he paced, sharing his nervousness as her speed grew through Speed Boost. Nid coiled around Kaida's feet, cooing in worry. It was a battle out there, and they needed to deal with it.

She sneered at the earpiece, certainly not planning to let Lars out of her sight, but put it on regardless. He was texting somebody...nobody she knew was in the city, at least as far as she was aware, but perhaps he had friends? She waved, having Nid summon a Safeguard around them, and tried to pat Lars reassuringly on the shoulder. "Don't worry, I'll protect you and your friends." The way she talked, you'd think she were an Avatar and not him.

Kaida didn't know it, but compared to the other two women entering the arena, she just wasn't as important (An NPC, if you will). Lack of knowledge simply sent her into a more determined spiral, aware of her own little importance in the truth of things, she worked for one singular thing. To protect her family.

She could hear the woman (Stormy), talking and leaned to the side, waving should she be noticed. Next to her, a scarred up Krookodile streched her neck and tail. The fun of the event chased away any nervousness the gator should have had, and she also excitedly showed off her musculature to any Pokemon nearby.

As always, they were confident.

She remembered the awkwardness of the previous meetings, not fondly, she might say. After the war, however, and remembering the fact he had worked with her...she was willing to believe the man wouldn't act like that again. If Rangers were supposed to be family, she supposed she'd have to deal with even ones she wasn't too fond of yet. "Its fine. I don't remember people well, either. That was the truth, she'd never remember the strangers passing around them, ever.

would you be interested in one? "That's why I came here, really...its better to fight someone I know." Eventually, she'd have to battle strangers, but that time was not now. She took out two Pokebalks, ready to throw one or both, "A single or double? I'm ready for either."

So they had left during the night? Even stranger. It was one thing for the Pokemon to leave because of the heat, that was normal, but it was another for them to vanish without outside cost. As far as Kaida knew, dragon type Pokemon were considered valuable, Aloha Pokemon even more so...it wasn't strange to think they'd been stolen away. "Pirates. Maybe?" Hervoice hissed under her breath. She didn't have good experiences with pirates, battling alongside illeana reyes had been a...thoroughly frightening experience (she wondered briefly about the woman, and pulled her mind back)

"I'm Kaida. Thank you for helping." She took the hand gently, nodding firmly and genuinely. "Let us begin. If anybody took them, I'll take them back." At her words, Nid broke away, wings extending from her head as the Dragonair spun into the air, giving an aerial view of the search.

Then you die. Kaida silently answered Zola's hypothetical scenario (even with Pokemon you were still likely to be killed in battle), but settled for a small shrug and a "Very well then. Defend yourself."

Dain squared up with Zola, tilting his head in a predatory manner as his wings buzzed invisibly fast, "No. You hit him if you can. Hard. This is training." Kaida quickly countered Zola's idea of feinting a punch, "Hit near the eyes if you can." If she wanted to fight a Pokemon, then fight. If Dain got hurt from fighting a human, then he clearly needed better hunting skills anyway.

She...barked, for lack of a better word, a simple, harsh sound that rung through the air...and Dain moved. His gleaming scythes launched forward, moving to slash at the woman's leg, scythe slightly angled to not cut through.

There was no avoiding the initial attacks, Kaida knew. All the Pokemon underwater were completely in their elements and full of energy. To that end, Kaida made no orders at the moment, knowing it was up to her Pikemon to counter these attacks.

Corpus coiled up as the Ice Fang approached, shimmering a steely light as Iron Defense activated. The fangs hurt, but far less so and turned slightly by the defense attack, the Huntail squirming free and bolting away, seemingly fleeing.

Njor's own strike was far less dignified. The young Carvanah chattered and swam to and fro, only managing to dodge a few bubbles in the the pelting Bubblebeam. The chattering suddenly evolved into a roar, Snarl booming across the accommodating water, aiming to rattle and harm.

Huntail uses Iron Defense! Carvanah uses Snarl on Mantine!

Zac Ramsay

Emerging into a cavern, Kaida paused a long while, allowing her eyes to adjust slightly before ordering a quiet, "Ormr, help me see." A soft glow of yellow, not much but still something, emanated from the Ekans as he used Glare. A small place, behind her, Kjoll rumbled in worry. He was right, there was no way an Onix could get through here without completely crushing them all. "Its ok, we'll find the little one ourselves." She assured the Onix as she returned him.

What replaced his place was a steel ant and ghostly dragon, the former clacking her mandibles in (Kaida assumed) happiness at the familiar environment, the latter cringing from the frightening shadows that reached for her. "Go ahead, Draugr, keep us safe...if you find anybody, we'll join them." The prospect of company clearly raised the dragon's mood, and the ghost-type slinked forward, passing through obstructions. Without any orders, the Durant correctly guessed her role and marched forward, jaws spread to Dig and Crunch their way forward

"Be brave, Njor. There's no danger." Kaida spoke softly to the jerky Carvanah, who looked at her nervously before plunging to join Corpus, the Huntail already confidently swimming in the deeps, gnashing her huge jaws at her opponent.

She looked her her opponent, shaking her feet off of water like a disgruntled feline, "A good day. Let's have a good fight." A semblance of a smile lingered on her face. Her smaller Pokemon appeared a little weaker, especially Njor, but she trusted the two to listen to her.

"Let us begin."

Zac Ramsay

The opponent countered well enough, under the circumstances. Even under the Smokescreen, Kaida knew the Taunt had effected Ormr, who hissed his new terrible mood under his breath, "Stay on your prey." Kaida ordered before it was too late, and not a moment too soon. Pin Missile scattered around the arena, the resulting commotion quieting any words she could have uttered.

Freya and Loki retreated away, squeaking and yelping as the move pricked their scales, but Ormr shot forward, low to the ground, ignoring the pain of the attack. Acid Spray gathered within his maw, fired directly at the paralyzed dragon. It might not hurt much now, but the acid would eat away any defenses.

Behind the serpent, Loki raised his claws and let out a reptilian howl, summoning a Sunny Day, scorching heat adding to the terrible sunlight that already pounded down, and Freya capitalized. Making use of the remaining Smokescreen, Freya aimed back at the source of the Pin Missile, the Jolteon. Flamethrower roared through the air, the air itself seeming to wiggle from the heat.

Ekans uses Acid Spray on Kommo-o! Salazzle uses Flamethrower on Jolteon! Charmeleon uses Sunny Day!

"It's an easy hairstyle." She spoke like it was a bad thing, clawing at her hair like she expected at any moment it would be uncontrollable...and promptly got reason as a sandstorm was whipped up, forcing her to shield her face as the Garchomp roared upwards.

And she laughed, a harsh bark of a laugh that carried no ill will to the land shark, "He wants to win." She called the moment the Garchomp rose enough to get the sandstorm out of their immediate vicinity, "He's a good dragon." She watched momentarily, watching as Muspel rose higher, trying to guide the Garchomp out of what she assumed was its element, the ground. A blue tinge entered her scales as she tossed her body back and forth in Dragon Dance.

"Yes. I've forgotten how hungry I am." The excitement of the day didn't exactly leave room for a leisurely meal.

As Rage Powder and Teeter Dance make their nefarious effects known, Kaida knew she had completely lost control of her Pokemon's actions. Odinson trembled in impotent rage, barely able to stay on his feet as he shaked himself out in frustration...and flung Indunn away, where the little Comfey squeaked as it smacked into the ground, unable to act.

Electricity crackled from both the ground and the feline Pokemon, until it roared, overly frustrated at its inability to pounce at that infuriating mushroom. An explosion of Discharge boomed from the Luxray, totally uncontrolled but, as Kaida ducked away from the curling lightning, she praised the Luxray's rage. A fine enough attack, given everything!

Luxray uses Discharge! Comfey hurts itself in its confusion!

I don’t have much left but this should be good enough.

Already on the field, Odinson howled, echoing the outrage felt by all of Kaida's self, but she nonetheless answered Fernando's question, clipped and angry, "Three. Not much time to battle friendly people." It was in truth, a show of power was useless when everybody was busy fighting for their lives.

She whistled to her Pokemon, speaking softly, "Hunt careful." She might not be paying as much attention to the battle if she was talking. Bristling with Intimidation, Odinson raised up on his hind legs, slamming down to produce a crackling Electric Terrain. Hanging so close as to be mistaken for the Luxray's necklace, Indunn waved his tail, launching a Leech Seed towards the dopey looking Spinda.

"Not many people are interested in how strong I am...only experience." It seemed logical, a Ranger's worth was in how well they dealt with situations, not how many Pokemon they defeated in battle.

Luxray uses Electric Terrain! Comfey uses Leech Seed on Spinda!
