A war between worlds...Kaida can honestly say she never had thought she'd be a part of this. Years as a Ranger, and only now she was really helping Pokemon, she felt. She could only hope that people appreciated what she and her family were doing to get information for them. [break][break]

Below the high ground she roosted on, Kaida had gone unnoticed. No disgust, no shock flew across her face, or made her scream. If there was anybody who could watch the invaders feed below her, it was her. She was simply furious. Poisoned Pokemon patrolled, and corpses strewn around were torn at and eaten like wolves, and it was all such a waste. They ate seemingly just to eat, and destroyed everything around them. Not the behavior of a predator at all, it was behavior of a mindless monster. [break][break]

What would happen if they failed to hunt them down? Everything would be eaten, her mind supplied. The world would die, not a chance for life existing. Even if conflict wiped out humans or Pokemon, the world would recover. These invaders promised nothingness, and her fury only rose at them. They killed their world and were coming to kill her home. Perhaps it wasnt their leader's fault they needed to eat, she supposed, but it was going to be their fault they died. Not a single try at negotiating, not an attempt at integrating. Idiotic leading through and through. [break][break]

Above her, Glima the Toxicroak clung to a tree, Ormr the Ekans lingering in the grass. Both had cameras attached, simply taking in the information she wouldn't be able to describe. Graphic, but helpful information. They just needed to follow the camp as long as possible, then make a break for it.

Muspel was trembling. This high, this long, the young Charizard never experienced such height. Living most of their lives on the ground, the family sympathized, each and every clinging as hard as they could. [break][break]

Two others had joined them in the clouds (Sénon Game and @sanvi ), Kaida acknowledged them with a nod. It didn't unnerve her that she felt far less concern for them than Orion Lykos and ALEXANDER STONE ...she didn't know their voices, their clothing, why should she? They had chosen a dangerous group to accompany, and she only hoped they were competent. [break][break]

She pointingly pushed Muspel to fly ahead of the group, sharp eyes scanning for danger as she determined that she was a shield. With three Pokemon capable of attacking, she took it upon herself to act as the vanguard. Like it or not, she supposed, everyone flying was now her partner, so she had to take ownership. They were hers to have and protect. [break][break]

And when the red monstrosity burst through the clouds, a punching nightmare, her team reacted. "Ahh-kahhh!" Her brief scream evolved into the semblance of an order, no time for either words nor signing, Kaida hoped her tone made it obvious. Forward! Attack! Kill it! [break][break]

With the confidence of Pokemon that had hunted many times, her Pokemon made their strikes. On the back of the Charizard, Bragi put her hand on Silk, hoping the ground-type would keep any residual sparks away from Muspel. Bragi's Overdrive crackled and boomed, the musical electricity roaring to crash against the flailing fists as Silk spat a barrage of hardened sand from his perch on Kaida's shoulders. Rock Slide crashed towards the things head, and Muspel dove. Kaida's ears rung as the Charizard screamed downwards, claws bared as she attempted to hit the red thing in its legs, in hopes of crippling or flipping it. [break][break]

For she had been with Kaida for a long time and, even with the danger, she understood. Kaida trusted this duo of Orion Lykos and ALEXANDER STONE . Not unlike how she trusted her Pokemon. She could not allow them to be hurt, it would hurt Kaida. [break][break]

Kaida narrowed her eyes against the wind, looking backwards at the beast, hoping to see it hurt and falling. [break][break]

Today was a strange day. The sparks had returned, and she stood before their source, but was this correct? The golden Shinx jolted, staring in a fury at Kaida, clearly expecting some kind of attack, but before it could escape, Kaida hurriedly lobbed a Safari Ball at it, almost regretting the action as she wasn't even sure if it were the correct Pokemon. All of this, was it some kind of sign? A good one, she hoped, it was always so unclear.

"Sss!" Kaida hissed between her teeth, already backing away and hoping Jotun understood to stay away from the flailing spines on the Nidoqueen. The young gator hadn't once seen a fight like this. It was surreal for him, to watch Pokemon wrench and attack in pain. [break][break]

Kaidas not sure when she stopped talking during the fight, substituting commands to specific grunts and hisses. To talk, would be too late. The Pokemon needed to be cured, and she wouldn't fail them. [break][break]

A Nidoqueen's eyes wavered, perhaps mistaking the huge gator for a Nidoking. They missed them. They were hurting. "Rrrgh!" To talk would be too late. An Aqua Tail toppled a swathe of them. Kaida rushed over, antidote in hand, and snarled away any useless helpers. [break][break]

She didn't feel like talking right now.

"I got it, understood!" Kaida nearly snarled at ALEXANDER STONE , reigning in the urge to snap at her own allies, "I won't fail you." Not like she failed Littleroot. Her job was to win this war, and hell and high water, quite literally in this case, wasn't going to stop her. "I'll protect you." She promised, two familiar voices in ALEXANDER STONE and Orion Lykos weighed on her. If she lost the voices here, she'd never hear them again, might never recall them. It was enough to have hazy memories, for her life to fade and repeat in a day, it was not fine for her to let their lives fade into memory. [break][break]

"Muspel!" She cried out, the shore would be safe, and they couldn't stall forever. It was time to strike them. Her urgency only rose as the tidal wave approached, swinging onto the Charizard's back and returning Kjoll to his Pokball. He'd be helpful anywhere but the sky. Bragi's muscles crackled in Shift Gear, the Toxicitry hopping abroad. Finally,, she felt a weight on her shoulders and chest, Silk having expelled a bunch of sand in a Minimize as he joined the team. "Don't die!" She howled over the battle, leaving another instruction unsaid to those she didn't know. Be our distraction. [break][break]

Muspel screamed into the air, straight up, limbs pumping in a boosting Dragon Dance. They couldn't defend against that wave, and she needed all the time she had. Perhaps the enemy wouldn't notice if they were fast. She didn't wait for the others of her team, they'd be there, she knew. She simply directed Muspel north once they reached the clouds. To the north, and to the enemy. [break][break]

Something chattered and swung from tree to tree above them, and except for a small glance upwards to make certain they weren't being attacked, Kaida swiftly headed in the opposite direction.

She had no reason to disturb that particular noise-maker, it was certainly not what she was looking for.

Perhaps Kaida have found her element, her place to be. Her heart lingers in her throat, and feels natural there. Something heavy lingers on her side, right, a knife she had pilfered from an empty home. Waste not, want not. She had no claws, and needed to be able to fight. Her family needed to focus on their own lives. [break][break]

Somewhere in the region, her family hid. They wouldn't come out, not until they had won...or until they were found and devoured. Kaida trusted Ormr to them. He would lead them, should they fail. Should she die. The territorial dispute would end today, she could sense it, and whatever way it went, she'd go down screaming and bloody before she let them have her family. [break][break]

On the scene, her Pokemon already out, Kaida heeded Orion Lykos 's call and led her team to the protective barrier three teams had set up. "Start hunting! Let's eat!" She bellowed, her team getting to work sharpening their claws and teeth. Silk Coiled, power coursing for every layer of scales he tied around. The Sandaconda lingered near Garchomp, attempting to reap the benefits of Sand Veil from the Sandstorm. Muspel shrieked, stomping and flapping her wings in a vigorous Dragon Dance. By Kaida's side, the young Toxicitry Bragi started to strum at her chest, Charging for what was to come. [break][break]

Huddled low to be protected, Kjoll fixed his eyes on the ocean and bellowed, little Stealth Rocks rising from rubble and nature both to hover threateningly. Whichever reached the trap first, boat or flying enemies, would face piercing rocks zipping towards them to maim and tear. [break][break]

"I'll protect it." Kaida hissed, "I'll protect everything." Familiar voices, home, her family. It was all hers, and it was all her responsibility to protect it...it wasn't like her life was hers anymore anyway. She had to do it. [break][break]

Perhaps they were both crazed, or perhaps they both had the same instinct for danger. Quietness was never a good thing. Even just the howl of the wind was something to hear. After the attacks, after everything, Kaida knew better than to pretend that the quiet was peaceful. [break][break]

"If it's not on our side, then we'll fight it too." Kaida tried to insert confidence in her voice, "I'll be coming for all training sessions." She'd have to make sure no jobs were taken during the training days, "We got to get as strong as we can." She couldn't fail again, like she did last time, not until she repaid everything given to her.

Kaida found herself smiling, quite enjoying the small talk, as long as it involved her family. "These two, I had forever, even I can't remember how long it's been." That was an honest explanation, for as long as she'd been aware, she had the Dragonair and Ekans. Her other Pokemon were more new, but that didn't make them any less dear. [break][break]

Her Pokemon and her ignored any nearby Pokemon, not wishing to make more of a ruckus than the hounds. "I'll be sure to tell if I find Kimba...your name is Mavirick, correct? I'll remember it. They all look unique to me anyhow." A scar was a helpful descriptor, though she wished there was more features mentioned, it would make searching way easier.
