LATE SEPTEMBER — as ultra wormholes are sighted in the seas of hoenn, the region begins to be tainted by poisons, the source of which is unknown. parts of hoenn's seas darken with toxic waste, like oil spills. for this reason, head scientist, lucas lane, has entrusted volunteers with a special antidote formula that he has helped create with elite four, thomas benoit's sludge sample.[break][break][break]

a swarm of nidoqueen rampage across the desert of hoenn. these reptilian pokemon thrash about, becoming a major risk for those who venture close to the dunes.[break][break][break]

While another group was handling the swarm of evil Nidokings in the desert, it seemed like their Queens were gathering elsewhere, deeper in the desert. It was to be expected, seeing how Nidokings and Nidoqueens go together. Thus, a swarm like this was bound to happen. And it's also why a call for trainers was issued.[break][break]

Covered from head to toe due to the desert's climate, Balder was staring at those rampaging creatures, with their horns seemingly bigger then normal. As people gathered, he decided it was time to move. Summoning his Kingdra on the field to start attacking the toxic monsters that were ruining the... already ruined land.[break][break]

The Kingdra opened the show with a Dragon Dance before floating over the sand and charging the opposing force, dousing them with Brine. As it got surrounded, Kingdra proceeded to do a Smokescreen before retreating a bit and throwing an Hydro Pump in the lot. Hopefully the others would be able to assist on finishing them.

lion-o's rivarly with the nidoqueen was sort of one sided in terms of strength. it seemed like no matter what it did none of its attacks were making a dent in it. "hey buddy um, we should just go-ok your still going for the kill." kazimir didn't have the heart to tell the little cat that electric type moves didn't work on ground types but seeing him pull out another wild charge did fill him with a sense of pride. pride in his mon for having a never give up attitude, something he always looked for for members of his team. although in this case giving up was probably the most correct course of action considering their disadvantage. [break][break]

Just another routine sweep of the less-than-hospitable regions of Hoenn. The longer this conflict went on, the more apparent it became these outworlders, or 'Megalopolans' as the League had been referring to them as, were remarkably tenacious and capable of scraping by in the most unlivable climes. And the desert fit the bill.

Cloyster was his chosen companion, not because it was useful against the poison, but because the natural desert dwellers feared it. Whenever they came across a critter that got too curious or familiar, Cobalt would scare it off to avoid clashing.

But when they finally found signs of the Megalopolan's corruption in the area, it was a herd of rampant Nidoqueen savaging the landscape and anything that slithered across it. Adrian included.

A triad of these lumbering monsters came bulldozing towards him, but with a firm hand he guided Cobalt: "Barrage them; Icicle Spear!" Shafts of rime began to appear before rocketing forward, hampering their approach and making them reluctant to pursue him so brazenly.

Unlucky for him that one had snuck up behind him, nearly dosing him with a poison jab that might've spelled certain doom when Cobalt turned around, unleashing a torrent of water that sent it sprawling back. Shocked, Adrian hesitated to react. Woah...

"Good work..." But it still wasn't finished.

maybe there's an atypical fondness in the way dominic regards the nidoqueen - his own first pokemon was a female nidoran, a long-forgotten fact buried under the rubble of memory. he never got to evolve her to her final form. there's a tight feeling in the back of his throat but he doesn't have a name to put to it - the closest thing would be bitterness.

his senses and reaction time dulled by his reminiscence, dominic fails to notice the venomous spurs of the nidoqueen until they bounce off his aegislash's KING'S SHIELD. the pokemon raises itself to defend him, and dominic quirks his mouth in a grateful half-smile.

"Sss!" Kaida hissed between her teeth, already backing away and hoping Jotun understood to stay away from the flailing spines on the Nidoqueen. The young gator hadn't once seen a fight like this. It was surreal for him, to watch Pokemon wrench and attack in pain. [break][break]

Kaidas not sure when she stopped talking during the fight, substituting commands to specific grunts and hisses. To talk, would be too late. The Pokemon needed to be cured, and she wouldn't fail them. [break][break]

A Nidoqueen's eyes wavered, perhaps mistaking the huge gator for a Nidoking. They missed them. They were hurting. "Rrrgh!" To talk would be too late. An Aqua Tail toppled a swathe of them. Kaida rushed over, antidote in hand, and snarled away any useless helpers. [break][break]

She didn't feel like talking right now.

They are unnatural, in the almost but not quite inconspicuous way so many of these swarms had been. Kings and queens rampaging in the desert. What are the odds? Erin's musings are kept to herself. A clicking sound signals the manifestation of a pokémon; a spritzee, small and cute and totally not a girl.

He's grumpy, even as he leaves the quiet comfort of his pokéball, about being mistaken for a girl yet again. Thankfully, his masculinity isn't questioned this time. Rather, there's no time to, because there's a swarm of huge nidoqueens dancing in a sea of dust.

"Lure them away," he hears the young woman order, and he does as requested without realizing the suicidal mission being given to him. The sweet aroma he releases would

pokemon ♀: queenly majesty - trop kick, aromatic mist, power whip, stomp, sweet scent

tsareena exuded an air of absolute confidence as she aided her mistress in confronting the poisonous army. despite their superior numbers, both cait and her grass-type counterpart made a decent dent in preventing the swarm from effectively dominating the area.

cait's gaze was presently shielded beneath thick goggles as sand and wind whipped at her mane, her attire allowing for her to better tolerate the potent heat with hung heavy within the air. her grass-type exuded power, the ability in-grained within her allowing for her to prevent the nidoqueen's from releasing their true potential.

it caused them to hesitate, bemusement temporarily replacing their enraged expressions. queenly majesty proved itself to be more than effective, cait watching on and taking care to mind her surroundings as she did so.
