Kaida had started moving the day she had gotten the text, even as a Ranger elite, she didn't participate much in meetings, espicially in a group. It had to be important if they needed to invite the likes of her to the meeting instead of just making a mission. [break][break]

The day for the meeting finally came, and she could finally stop pacing the city, wondering what was so important and creating all sorts of dangerous situations. Yes, Pokemon were moving across the region with seemingly no rhyme or reason, so maybe it was to discuss that? It was the most beign scenario she could imagine. Her Pokemon nestled in Pokeballs, ready to go, as instruction had told to "be prepared". She only left Ormr out, trusting the Ekans to both guard her and listen in as well. She needed her Pokemon to know what was happening too. [break][break]

She showed up characteristically expressionless, only breaking it to smile at the Lucario guard, "Apologies for intruding." then raising her voice towards Lars, "Greetings...I don't suppose I can just eat leisurely today, Lars?" It was a shame, she liked this place and its food.

Now truly satisfied, Kaida rolled the last Safari Ball in her hands, hoping that she wasn't being unrealistic about this. What use did a Ranger have for tens of Pokemon? What was she so afraid of? [break][break]

Even with her tired need to bolster her pack, ahe didn't grab just any Pokemon. If she couldn't easily see how it struck, she ignored it, like she did a nearby Tympole.

She knew her rest was over when static started lurking in her hair, her chosen catch was here. [break][break]

A little beast that came charging out of the bushes with a self-styled Roar (more a a squawk) and sprang at the seemingly venerable Kaida, now left without Ormr as the Roar took effect. She sprang away, feeling trickling on her skin as the brave little thing shot off a clumsy Discharge. She vanished in the vegetation, crouched low and quiet. [break][break]

It turned to find its now missing quarry...and promptly caught a handful of dirt to the face, screeching briefly before a Pokeball sealed it up. [break][break]

Quickly replacing Ormr on her shoulders, Kaida found the fallen Pokeball and her her chest swelled proudly. Caught.

As the Thunder Punch and Close Combat collide, Kaida feels her shoulders sag. Muspel's own strength cannot hope to match the fighting dragon's, even with Dragon Dance. The Charizard tries, by Arceus, she does try. Her Thunder Punch lands with all the strength she can manage, but the force pushes her back and across the floor, and she just cannot find the strength to do anything more than raise her head defiantly. "We lost, Muspel." Kaida calls out before the dracion can try and continue the fight. [break][break]

"Should have told you to stay away..." She mumbled defeatingly, trotting over to where Muspel lay. Had the dragon attempted to defend, dodge, or even used a less volatile move, she really thought Muspel could have won. "We almost did it...Ormr would have won it if I could use him." She assured, the serpent clinging to her loyally keeping an eye on their opponent, even if he knew the fight was over. [break][break]

"That was the two's and mine best. I don't imagine we are that impressive yet."

Perhaps she had gotten expectant. [break][break]

It was taking a long time to encounter anything else, except for a little cloud being floating past. "Ormr, keep watch, please." Kaida mumbled, settling under a tree. She had to keep getting stronger, didn't she?

Kaida nodded, already setting off in Garmr's wake. The little hound's nose could be trusted, but she needed to stay close. She didn't expect that Garmr would be able to handle whatever they found. [break][break]

"A detective movie? I suppose I do have a hound" Kaida chuckled, tilting her head at the following one, "I suspect its foreign Pokemon, they tend to find prey and overhunt it, so the prey is either wiped out or flees...you'll be able to fish once I'm done with them." She assured quietly, suddenly stopping as Garmr turned a corner and set up a baying. [break][break]

"Seems our culprit is found. Be careful, I'll take care of it."

Another bug soon showed up, and one Kaida had once heard of. A vicious predator that lurked in water despite its typing...interesting. Her pause and stare must have tipped Ormr off, as he slipped to the floor and hissed, drawing the aggressive Anorith towards him for an Acid Spray. [break][break]

The two Pokemon clashed in a strangely silent clash of bodies, Kaida waiting until Ormr broke away before throwing a Pokeball.

It was the entrance of a little one that constituted Kaida's first capture, a spider that launched out of nowhere, stuck to Kaida's back, held on for dear life...and nothing else. Briefly, Ormr unleashed a truly terrifying array of hisses onto the counter, but it refused to move, but made no movement to harm Kaida too...so she was at a stalemate. [break][break]

Certainly, it wasn't a Pokemon she could easily read. The likes of Scyther were easier, but she had already added another bug, hadn't she? Despite her misgivings, the swarming bugs got along quite well in the pack. The movements had to be more familiar to her by now, and this little one was absolutely coming with them, she and her Pokemon just didn't have the instinct to attack a Pokemon unless it was to eat, defend, or capture...and she needed no attacks to catch this little one. She had heard of Pokemon desperate to be a trainer's Pokemon, so much they would not fight a capture, but to catch this one would be to enbroil it in conflict probably unimaginable to it...in the end, it was its decision. [break][break]

She tried to ignore the lump in her throat as she tapped its small body with a Pokeball, the bug's eyes, the only part she could read, gleaming with adventure. The Pokeball didn't even twitch. Welcome.

Kaida only had Ormr out at the moment, not planning on too much violence in her current search. She had heard of the Pokemon here, and not many of them would need more than Ormr to take care of. [break][break]

For now, she watched the air for sparks. Her target couldn't be hard to spot.
