Rex tried to wrench away as something grabbed him, "Don't you-" His wild voice cut off as the slap cracked across his cheek. Immediately, he fell back, affronted eyes glring up at Lulu Flint, "Ow, why'd ya hit me!?" Bile stung his throat, and tears sprung up at the stinging in his cheek, but he was here, he was present. The water bug's injury drew his attention seconds before a terrible boom rocked his world, he could swear the very air vibrated as he covered his head futilely...before something far more terrifying rose from the explosion's aftermath. The other monsters? They were specks already compared to them, he only wondered if the gargantuan thing could even see them, but he wasn't hanging around to see. "Oh God! Oh shit! We gotta go!" He yelled like it wasn't already obvious.[break][break]

Another stranger rolled in (Adrian Malcolm), but Rex spared no thanks as he leapt upon the Gosliopod's shoulder, helped by a push from One, and patted it. "Up, get up here!" He barked at his friend, eyes jerking around frantically as he addressed the bug, "I don't know if you see this, big guy, but we'd like to go, fast!" [break][break]

The Mega Evolution wore off, and One couldn't bare to use a true attack, but the fossil picked up the thrown down supplies in its mouth before it would also flee, loyally after Rex. Still clinging to the fossil, Four used Calm Mind, finding much to calm down from and the draconian Haxorus and Armaldo acted as vanguard and defense, slashing at anything that dared approach the group with Dual Chop and Fury Cutter. "I think I'm gonna puke." Was Rex's only reply to Lulu Flint , any witty remark or not stupid response withering away from the forefront of his mind. The truck was gone. Meteors were plunging around them. More of those poisonous dragons were coming. Lasers. Just fucking lasers. They were going to die. A quivering shriek escaped him, knuckles white as a searing laser sent a man down, now with a distinct lack of heart. They were all so dead. [break][break]

What Rex wasn't aware of was the effect this had on One, the Mega Evolved Pokemon keenly attuned to its master's mental state. Fear of harm steadily grew and now, a certainty that they were dying? It was a wonder the two didn't snap until now. [break][break]

The fossil wailed, a terrible and fearful sound that echoed everything he felt, and more. A cornered animal, unable to run, unable to hide, it fought. Hyper Beam, now only boosted by the power of a Mega Evolution, glowed in its maw briefly, and exploded outwards. Up, down, at those laser-firing blocks, at those dragons. Anything Rex looked at and was afraid of had to burn. Damn anything in the way. [break][break]

The source of the meteors. Just a thought, and the beast understood the target, craning its neck down to finally find the final target, the Guzzlord. [break][break]

One finally faltered, gasping as it trailed at a terribly fast speed to the ground, Four desperately erecting a Light Screen to stave off any attacks or counters. They crashed roughly, One making certain the humans on its back took little impact, shaking and dizzy from the exertion of Hyper Beam. [break][break]

The rest of the team was there in an instant, having followed from the moment One started trailing down. Two put up a Protect, and the loyal Haxorus stepped outside of it, making room for others as it unleashed Dual Chop on anything that came near the recovering One. [break][break]

Finally unable to hold his stomach, and trusting the Protect, Rex tumbled from One's back and hunched over. He was right about one thing, he definitely did puke.

"Oh God!" Rex howled as One spun away, hugging Four the Raichu close to his chest, "I'm a moron, idiot, stupid!" Black flesh hung from One's teeth, and Rex still couldn't believe he had gotten so close to the monstrosity. As if personifying his explosion of anxiety and fear, One flew in circles, only stopping as the suppy truck smashed onto the ground, bring Rex back into reality. [break][break]

"Guys!" On the bridge, his two Pokemon reached the horrified trainer and Pokemon, leaping and clinging to the Aerodyactl's legs as it flew down to the impact site, "Guys? Guys! You alive?" His squeaking calls cut off as One drew near and a floating something carried out a man that looked like the human shape of a weasel...but he didn't have time for that. His Haxorus hung by the side, staring at the man and rock creature with Laser Focus, tracking the movements of prey not yet caught. [break][break]

Rex and One forced their heads into the truck, a relieved laugh escaping Rex, "Man, I wished I was as stupid and brave as you guys." His white face told the story, he had thought he'd see them (Cillian Quinn , Lulu Flint, and marcel maeda ) dead, a failure on his part because he failed at being was he was born to do, be muscle. Guzzy was still ready to party though, and came rolling towards the truck, prompting a screech of shock from the fossils and rat. "Get up One! Go!" Still, some kind of duty, or subordinate energy kept Rex from taking off immediately, jerking his chin at anybody who couldn't fly to get the hell on before One would flap upwards, trying to get out of reach as another volley of Ancientpower erupted from its rocky exterior, aiming to crush and maim the monster. On the Aerodyactl's back, Three fired off a Thunder, the powerful move arching towards the Guzzlord, to help, even just a little. Finally, Brine shot from Two's mouth, even the battle-hungry Armaldo not daring to get any closer. [break][break]

As the attacks were fired off, the whole team broke away from the truck, scattering to avoid the Guzzlord's wrath. [break][break]

Thirteen suddenly shrieked and reared up as the Delcatty stunned Two, who stumbled back as the feline used Fake Out, shaking her head from the attack. It didn't hurt much, but still! [break][break]

The Aurorus' fright came from the shadow that lunged forward and, not realizing its ability had been switched, unleased a Blizzard towards both the Delcatty and shadow. [break][break]

As if challenged by Dominic's own praise towards his Pokemon, Rex puffed up and bellowed down, "You got this! Two! Get back in there!" If there was any Pokemon he trusted, it was the Armaldo. She'd take care of this when she got in there.

A cheer filled Rex as he spotted the likes of Lulu Flint , Cillian Quinn , marcel maeda , and dominic sinclair at the supply truck, a whoop of victory escaping his lips as One shrieked and sqawked in triumph. This looked like it was really working! Had they recognized him, they better be. Man, he should be recording this, so they knew what he was doing! [break][break]

One trotted on the ground, waiting long enough for Four to get on before flying after the truck. The Raichu was a good enough fighter, he supposed...both Armaldo and Haxorus could catch up. Besides, Two probably wanted to fight. Darting after Rex, Two hissed in glee and slashed Fury Cutter at anything that came near, the Haxorus supporting her with Dual Chop. The two Pokemon would keep any forces from chasing the truck as they proceeded, at least Rex hoped. [break][break]

And then a mass of nightmares lunged for the truck. A Guzzlord, though Rex didn't know its name. All he knew was that, right now, he was going to watch everyone in the truck die...and yet he himself didn't want to die either. His hands flew up to his ears, trying to block out the everything that churned his stomach and stopped his heart. Scared. Terrified. Coward. The Mega Stone hanging from his ears glowed from the burst of emotion. [break][break]

And One responded. If he needed a protector, the beast would always respond. A wavering scream escaped the two as the Aerodyactl erupted into a rocky exterior, returned to its true form, it could truly be brave for him, show its strength. [break][break]

"You're all so stupid!" He shrieked, hugging his Mega Evolved monster, the wind tearing at his body as One screamed towards the leaping Guzzlord, "You all want to die, don't you? Stupid! Stupid!" Why was everyone he liked in the truck!? Why was he someone that had to save them!? He was Rex, what the hell did they expect from him!? [break][break]

One's fangs grew into Ice Fang, monstrous power erupting into icy spikes that aimed to rip and tear at the monster's arms. At the same moment, Grass Knot sprang up, the strangely trustworthy Raichu attempting to restrain or trip the Guzzlord, just for a second...because the moment One struck, Rex lost his courage, pulling on One's horns to prompt the beast to fly up and away as fast as they could. And now that he was here, he really wished he didn't bother. No pain to him nor One, but the attacks that ripped up the cliffside and ground around the supply truck showed this was no easy job...God, did he wish he at least asked for them to pay him after this... [break][break]

One circled the area briefly, allowing Rex just enough time to shriek in surprise, "Gav!?" In the chaos of the battlefield, his voice was torn away by a scream, a scream that did not help any as the Light Screen poofed away. "Shit! One you-" His order cut off, eyes suddenly locked on the impossible soldiers that started fluttering in, paper warriors, "To Gav, go, go!" He was not seeing how those things could kill him today! The fossil dived down in a vicious Take Down, all limbs bashing as it screamed through the air and came down near Cillian Quinn and co. Finally near familiar faces, Rex breathed out a sigh of relief and threw down his remaining Pokeballs. Two entered the bloodied field with a screech, more than happy as One crushed a shrieking alien with deadly talons...she was more than a little disappointed when Rex yelled "Protect" though. A newbie of the team, a Haxorus, huddled with them under the Protect and, spotting the attacks being thrown, swung her tail in an Assurance, aiming to help with an attack that would harm the injured more than the healthy ones. Four closed her eyes, creating a Calm Mind, just in case her attacks were needed. [break][break]

And from his perch atop One, Rex waved frantically at the team of Cillian Quinn , marcel maeda , and dominic sinclair . Look, look! Wasn't he doing good here? [break][break]

Maybe the bugs thought Two was a friend of theirs, because another showed up fast. Rex needed to give no order, the moment it came into view, One stomped at it. Failing to actually hit it, he sent it towards Two, who was waiting for it with a Metal Claw. [break][break]

Maybe he should throw some money at a casino next, Rex snickered as he tossed the last Pokeball, his luck was really working for him today!

Thankfully for his livelihood, Rex never left home without a trusty protector. In this case, Two. The Armaldo knew enough about what Rex got himself involved in to immediately set up a Protect the moment she left her Pokeball, snarling in exertion as the explosions battered her barrier. He realized two things as the smoke cleared. One, Eleven had managed to dive to him and now clinged stubbornly to his back. Secondly, he was pissed. [break][break]

"What the hell, not even a warning!? Are you messing with me? What if you killed me!?" He chided and snapped, stomping after Oscar...quickly now, he didn't want to be trapped in this dump when it finally collapsed.

"D-don't let go, you hear me Four, don't you let go." This couldn't be happening, he wasn't going to die like this, this had to be a nightmare. The weight on his lap though, that stupid Raichu that glared at him so, his nightmares wouldn't include the thing clinging to him like this, erecting a Light Screen around him and...One? Yes, One was here. One was here to be killed with him. Something in the back of Rex's mind drew his gaze upwards, right, they needed a fucking supply vehicle. That was why they had looked at the man with his beastly Pokemon and declared he was to die. How fantastic. Maybe if they got the vehicle, he and the others could hide inside until this all blew over. [break][break]

Either way, as his stomach threatened to empty from the fear of it all, the same fear drew him into recklessness. He needed to win as fast as possible to live. "Ancientpower!" He roared, voice cracking as he waved widely, "Tear them up! Don't you lose, One!" His screaming accompanied blasts of Ancientpower, the energy of fossils pulsing through the flying beast's body as it screamed towards and up the cliff. [break][break]

It was a rare day that Rex was worried for his Pokemon's welfare. His eyes flickered back to the Sandslash as Gavin talked, pushing One so that the duo would back away. One moved like he was made of actual rock, stiff beyond all measure as he snarled and showed his teeth to the unnatural thing before him. [break][break]

It also took a lot for Rex to so much as listen, and listening he was. [break][break]

He didn't ask how many tries it took, for once he didn't miss the fact that this thing in front of him wasn't the first one. Hands clasped behind his back, desperately holding himself still, Rex lowered his head like a shameful dog. "Yeah, yeah, I get it." His mouth tried to raise in a smile, looking more like a snarl. A huge hole felt like it opened in his chest...his Pokemon knew he was frightened, it would kill him. No doubt, it would kill him. "Don't want to kill myself having one of these freaks. Do I?" To have even one, would did it take? How scared would he have to be?

Rex scoffed at Lulu's remark, instantly losing the sweetness as he pointingly looked away, grimacing. Come on, he'd be happy with such a remark if he were alone, or if it was a comment on how he looked. Personality though? No thanks. [break][break]

Instead, he chose to answer Valerio, it was easier then. "And what kind are for that? Is it for a pretty face, cause I don't know why, but I never get jobs like that." Yup, answering like that was way easier. [break][break]

He lingered in the sewers as his teammates climbed on out, planning on guarding the whole way through, only stiffening as Valerio tossed that particular jab at him. "Hey!" He scrambled for the ladder, hurriedly returning his immensely grateful T-rex before tossing himself on the ladder, "That's not fair! Make it the first, I don't got any cash like that!"

One is close, but not too close, stopping just before it would loom over Rex. A conscious choice, Rex wanted a protector without it being obvious, and he got it in the beast. [break][break]

Still, One might as well hadn't existed when the chilly creature formed itself. The two shrank away, One hissing as the slightest moisture on his snout frosted over, chilling him deeply. Rex scrambled for a hold of another Pokeball, some deep-seated instinct screaming at him to both run, and make his Pokemon kill this thing. [break][break]

It was only Gavin's voice that reminded him that his life (technically) wasn't in danger, his whitener face turning jerkily to the man, "D-did it used to like you...you know, be-before? Why does it l-listen?" [break][break]

It was terror incarnate, and Rex, a man so concerned with his own life, wanted to quake at the very idea of relying on such a thing.
