Simón’s grumpig would be laughing if it this guy thought its pokémon was the only one with an affinity to psychic types. Too bad, the hog too is a psychic. Simón stepped out closer to where the two pokémons were now battling and attempted to support his pokémon.

“Use CONFUSE RAY at the metal scraps—oof, no, I mean the metagross and land power up your landing with PSYSHOCK!” Simón warned, hints of Galarian accent being more noticeable with his every shout. He knew the grumpig to be extremely focused and persistent so he had much confidence he could get through with the claw crane’s attacks.

As for the its owner, Simón was just glad and excited he found someone closer to a rival in an unexpected circumstance.

“And how am I supposed to do that?” Simòn was frustrated. Clearly this was not part of the challenge. But any attempt to reason with the grumpig was futile and it seemed like the other party was in a similar situation.

The albino metagross sent grumpig towards the windshield but not without any retaliation. Standing from its position, it leaped to towards the air and BOUNCED once more, its impact wrecking much of the car. This was the grumpig’s strategy, at least with this move, it was in control.

“I’m telling you, whoever you are. You do not mess with an angry grumpig.”

The sounds that his grumpig made when it rushed towards where Valerio was floating signaled what they initially feared might happen. Apparently, a water-based arena was unsuspicious for authorities but not for blood-sucking creatures of the ocean. A shiver of sharpedos were fast approaching and they needed to stop it before it reached the ring.

Valerio looked at Rex, deeply engaged with the match and the bet that he was losing, and gave him a tap.

“No time to waste. Let’s go!” With a light speed, kingdra who had Valerio clutching on her fins, swifted through the waters to reach the outside borders of the ring.

“Yo, that’s not cool.” Simón shouted to the man with glasses upon the metagross’s aggressive behavior. The grumpig stood after the throw but its eyes were now glaring at its opponent. With much agitation, it used TEETER DANCE to confuse its target and whacked the metagross towards the car with PSYSHOCK.

“No—no! Grumpig! The target’s the car! Not the claw crane thingy!”

Simón’s grumpig—who had no nickname—emerged back from the sky with a hard blow of BOUNCE that landed on the metagross’s back. “Oof.”

Of course, the hog was shocked, he did not know that Simón and he would be accompanied. The impact of the pig landing unto the metal mon’s back hurt it too. “Heh. Not intended.”

Simón raised his hands to say he’s not guilty but inside his mind he was laughing with his grumpig.

The job was perfect for Simón—an identity Valerio crafted himself to take on menial jobs for a hefty amount of cash. No feelings nor attachments. Those were his rules with this specifically-crafted identity.

Simón reached the junkyard of Petalburg City with intentions on taking up the ‘destroy car’ challenge. For all he knew, many had already succeeded with crushing the car within the time limit so he had no doubts of doing it too.

He just hoped his partner for this would be competitive as well.

The dreepy was more familiar to Jonathan—or Valerio—for he took care of one from an egg to now an adult dragapult. This one was in the wild was calmer than his Darty. The trainer and his grumpig went on to find a good spot for picnic.

“For someone who already died the first time, you’re still too stern.” Jonathan shouted as he managed to get a little closer to the garbodor, each stride met with difficulty for the stench got stronger and fatal.

While the giga garbodor remained distracted with its human preys, Lissa began her plan of action. Like a keckleon concealing itself with the lush environment, each of its head conjured a purple orb of PSYSHOCK directed at the gargantuan enemy. It was super effective, Jonathan noted, but not enough to prevent it from doing further damage.

“Oh no, no, no. Not again.” POISON GAS was released from its mouth, the foul smell enveloped the entire jungle once again with venomous hint. For sure, his exeggutor will now be poisoned of the fumes but Jonathan knew it would not give up the fight.

Calling his kingdra once more, the dragon-type summoned rain into the jungle with a (RAIN) DANCE, hoping to dissipate the poison that lingered in the atmosphere.

“Before we die here, can you at least tell me the secret how to return back to life?”

LISSA (A. EXEGGUTOR) uses PSYSHOCK.

The voice was cold and haunting but the stranger the woman did not expect tailing her was not exactly a stranger to begin with.

For reasons, he knew Kaida was telling the truth. Valerio also knew how it felt to die, or at least, almost. This was the case after the failed Johto invasion and the days that lingered after trying to deal with the genocide of his original dragon herd.

Now he needed to start a new one.

“Yeah, I think it is.” Jonathan answered her question for her snake as the gargantuan garbodor, about 25 feet tall, towered over them with the suffocating stench probably worse than a skuntank’s odor. “At least not a skunk.”

Like a trained ranger, the man rolled beneath a larger bush to take cover and hurled a ball to summon his exeggutor from his trunks. Its tropical appearance made it extremely helpful to camouflage from the raging pile of garbage. “Let’s get this over with. We don’t want you dying a second time. Heh, get it?”

It was his first time to enter the safari zone premises and he was surprised to see a familiar figure in the shape of a scyther. He was cautious, however, for he heard how incredible sharp their razors are enough to cut down trunks of trees. That would explain the prticular aesthetics of the area, Jonathan would say.

And so he allowed his grumpig to use CONFUSE RAY on the insect, the pearls from its body emitted rainbow-colored light enough to incapacitate its opponent and give his trainer time to act and throw a safari ball.

GRUMPIG uses CONFUSE RAY.

“I’m not sure I follow.” Valerio is uneducated and has a poor time understanding idioms and beauty of language. “I assume money’s out of the question because that’s the reason why we accept this job in the first place, so...”

The bell rang, signalling the start of the match. “The winner gets to spend the rest of the night here, while the loser—” He leaned closer to Rex, as if taunting him, “—gets to cover the night for the other. Deal?”

He did not wait for his partner to agree because the fight was alrrady starting—and from the looks of it, it looks like he’s winning. The slender competitor was pretty agile for his built, putting the chunky guy at a disadvantage because of his relative slowness. Although the former’s hits would have hit hard at the latter, because the lanky lad was able to dodge most of the attacks, the bulky guy’s efforts were rendered inutile.

”One and Two’s gonna be overworked for tonight, eh?”
