For being two good Samaritans, it seemed neither could operate with the other. As much as the fellow fire fighter thought the first kid on the scene was trying to beat his chest, it still seemed as if he were trying to one up him. The boy could tell he was getting to the blond. Typically there was a fight of some kind by this point.

Perhaps the fire, although dealt with, had proved a good distraction.

Keep rolling your eyes and your empty fucking head will drive the hell off your body,'' Andy thought, cutting his own eyes. ''Rampart!'' There was a moment where only the volcarona's wind could be heard. ''Ram!'' Finally the sand castle slid from the shrine's entrance. Grace was not something synonymous with his earthen physiology.

''You done enough mate,'' he waved him over. ''Come on back'' The pokemon blinked. ''Palo? Paaalllooosand?'' It still felt it had more to do, but slowly slid across the ground. ''Good job, Ram.'' Patting the castle on its 'head' he beamed it back into his ball before pulling another. From this a flygon appeared.

''Come on, Draco. Let's blow this popcicle stand.'' As he went to climb onto his back the gengar poofed into white smoke, flowing into the boy's moving shadow until it seemed to completely disappear. ''Cheerio, dick socket.'' Flipping a bird, the flygon took it as his queue to get going and lifted into the sky with a, ''Fla! Flaaaaa!''

And with that they flew away.

Not letting his ad-hoc stone assault against the heatran be all he was known for, Epitaph charged a shadow ball to fling into the nearest magma monster. Who knew how effective it would be, but the glistening pale gengar would ensure that the beast's eyes stayed off his master at all costs.

''Faster!'' Andy commanded his flygon as the explosive sounds of battle drowned out the racket of the rumbling cave. ''Flaaaa!'' The creature protested his trainer's demands but still tried to coax a little more from his wings.

As soon as the pokemon's feet met the stone, Andy slid off with the hot rock in hand. Stumbling a few times, and nearly faceplanting once due to the terrain and the tremors, his finally slammed the glowing stone into place with gusto.

The entire chamber shaking is cause for concern. Buried in the earth somewhere is the last place the boy wanted his story to end. It seemed like no matter how much further they went, it was only deeper, never back towards the surface. At least that was the impression he got from all of the lava. Definitely seemed like they were getting much lower down than the crust.

''There were people in this shit?'' The question is mostly rhetorical as the group descends ancient stairs to an even bigger hellish chamber. A staircase was typically not a natural formation, and their existence here raised some big questions about what the boy thought he knew about history. And just like ancient ruins in the movies, this one had guardians.

''Ah fuck!'' The gengar reemerged from his trainer's shadow. Rocks and earthen debris began to float and swirl around him, manipulated by ghostly energy of poltergeist before they began to rocket at and pelt the offending heatrans. Remiel's finger drew his attention, yet he still fumbled a bit before properly catching the hot rock.

''Bloody hell.'' His chocolate eyes followed the prince's finger to his objective. Now this was some aggressive archaeology ''Draco!'' Approaching the flygon, he used a free hand to climb onto the dragon, directing his attention with a finger of his own. ''There! Fly!'' Pushing off of the surface, the operatic noise of his beating wings filled the chamber.

''Tally ho!'' The flygon sped over the landlocked obstacles as he rushed through the air towards his objective. Andy hoped Remi and the others could keep up with his charge, but this seemed like one of those 'the sooner the better' situations. He prayed it wasn't a get killed sooner scenario instead. All things considered however, it was still less dangerous than Mauville.

''I know how to dance if you want to learn,'' he mentioned offhand. It didn't take long for him to regret the offer, as he realized that he couldn't just show Hideo. With the situation unfolding before them, he didn't have time to consider just how he could ever make good on that. After the kid's lycanroc got ahold of the oricorio, he wasn't sure how soon it would be dancing either.

Though Hideo had it captured before he could really get a good look at it. After the other two pumpkaboos had fled, Andy stepped out to claim the one that had been ensnared by Epitaph's gaze. The gengar celebrated by leaning forward to do something like a bosom shake causing his trainer to make a face at him.

''Never do that again..., the command was spoken through a look of disgust. ''Gengar...'' Both annoyed and confused, why was his trainer so upset? And was it because of his surprise attack, or his sexy dance after? But the situation didn't last. Noise of travel from the bushes drew their attention.

First a beheeyem burst through the leaves, halting wide eyed when it spotted the humans and their pokemon. Unhappy with their presence, it focused on Andy and ensured his complicity with an imprison. At first neither he nor Epitaph knew what was going on until the youth discovered he couldn't move.

Which was bad as a girafarig came stampeding through right towards him.

''Oh! Ah! Shit! I can't move! Taph! Hideo!'' Both of their accidental attackers were likely startled by the fleeing pokemon from earlier. The girafarig at least just seemed to be mindlessly charging. Gengar charged a shadow ball for the beheeyem, hoping that an assault on the psychic pokemon would free his master.

A kyoger was the flying whale thing that haunted this region, he was pretty sure. Every region seemed to have their own legendary pokemon. That one had yet been seen by him though, which was odd as he had seen its counterpart groudon at Mauville, along with a few other high status pokemon. A war was a good place for such powerful creatures.

''Relax,'' a word he could have repeated over the anxiety induced levels of panic this blond seemed to be emitting, at least to his eyes. ''He's just going to smother the flames. Rampart's not twitchy enough to be knocking a bunch of shit over. For fucks sake, maybe I should have just stood around until the fire department showed with all this whinging you're doing.''

Admittedly, it was unexpected to find the enemy with their pants literally down. Doug, himself, and his pokemon spied on a megalopolan nature calling across the trough of two sand dunes. Thankfully, the distance and the dust storm helped obscure his alien dong. While fairly liberal minded, Andy wasn't warm to the idea of interspecies attraction.

''I got this,'' the boy said motioning to his two bug types, 'technically' in the flygon's case. Sliding a ways down the backside of the depth of the dune, he mounted Draco once more, looking to his curious yanmega. ''Rav, distract him. We'll drop the hammer.'' The darner fly seemed to hesitate as it hovered, but then turned and flitted off.

''Let's get ready mate,'' he spoke into the flygon's 'ear.' It hovered back up to the crest of the dune to watch. The sentry was just shaking it off. Using her speed boost, Ravana traveled down the obscured length of the dune before crossing the gap to the other and coming right at their target. Of course, the lookout noticed the yanmega speeding right at him.

''Go~'' Andy whispered harshly to his mount as the enemy looked up. Speeding at his distracted angle with a dragon rush, the flygon plowed right into his back, knocking the megalopolan to the ground face first. ''Quick! Don't let him scream! The harshness of his hushed tone caused Draco to bend his neck down and take their foe's head into his mouth.

It was a satisfying scene, but to see the enemy so helpless caused something strange to grow in the boy. They had been disabled, but not defeated. And somehow that just didn't feel right. The spell spread like a poison, charged through his veins like a disease. It was a strange lust that felt heavier, darker.

''Tighter!'' The flygon acquiesced, causing the sentry to release a muffled whimper. ''Tighter! Bite his fucking head off!'' His grip on the pokemon tightened as if to demonstrate. Who knew if it was voluntary. Despite Draco's obvious reservations, eyes flicking from his trainer to his captive, he did as commanded.

The sickening crunch was carried away in the howl of the sandstorm.

''Oh shit,'' he said gratefully at the prince's offer of physical information. ''Thanks.'' While he might not seem the type, Andy actually liked reading, especially history. A lot of his early childhood had been spent with books. If he behaved one might even consider him a little scholar. Alas, it was likely too late to garner such a reputation.

''Heh.'' The description given for any potential clues were rather vague. ''No offense, but oddities are fucking everywhere these days. Even the bloody people ain't acting right most of the time.'' In his mind he was looking just as much at the situation he had just come from, and the events that had led up to it.

''My aunt?'' His face scrunched in some places, yet he still lifted his eyebrow. ''That bat is too drunk half the time to even know what day it is. Bint's too busy getting smashed and being a cougar too care about what's going on around her.'' That was as much a boon as it was a bane however. Such behavior gave the boy free reign to do as he pleased in Hoenn.

''It's a pain living there, but thank fuck, she's usually out of the house. So I just really have Reggie and uncle to deal with.'' The ribombee butler typically let him be, though it got annoyed with any mess it had to clean up. His uncle, long deceased and suffering existence as a yamask was an annoyance for being so attention starved. His ex-life wife mostly ignored him.

While he would have liked to have sat there theory crafting about whatever the hot rock was, their environs had other plans. The boy couldn't help but wonder, beyond all the terror about his mortality, just how deep down where they? No matter what the depth was they couldn't just go back the way they had come with the earlier cave in.

''Is there any way we can really even get back to the surface?'' As per usual however, Remiel had a plan. Andy caught the pokeball well this time, and unleashing its contents found a dusclops. The modicum of joy that came over him was refreshing with everything else going on. It had been nice of him to give him a ghost type.

''Well,'' he started, the dusclops regarding him curiously, ''help your trainer. Use gravity to create a path.'' It was needed so all four could cross, of course. Initially, he had just planned to fly over it on his flygon, but this worked too. His gengar and flygon stuck close. Andy figured the dusclops would stay with her actual master.

''Don't be preachy,'' he fired back. But the herculean did. At first the youth was confused at to what he even meant with his commentary, but then he realized that now he seemed to be upset that gengar had made a face at the shellder. Andy had to imagine that day to day life was highly stressful when even the slightest of unkindnesses were encountered.

''That's how the shell works you daft fuck.'' The fire seemed mostly dealt with, which was obviously was a good thing. The boy noticed that despite their good deed, the blond persisted in telling him the best way to go about everything. For a moment he pondered if this was what it would be like to have a father around, just constant lecturing.

''He is bad,'' he said throwing a thumb over his shoulder at the gengar as he stepped back over the slowbro. ''Baddest motherfucker you'll ever see.'' The glistening pale pokemon grinned sinisterly and brought his hands up to wriggle his fingers in a 'creepy' stance. ''See? Fierce.'' Pulling a pokeball, the oblivious slowbro disappeared.

One pokeball was exchanged for another. A palossand materialized from it.

''Rampart, smother any flames left around, eh?'' The glowing beady orbs in the castle's window blinked. His physiology didn't really allow for anything like a nod. ''Paaalloo,'' it echoed unnaturally as the pokemon slid arcross the ground towards the shrine. ''Look at that. Maybe I should have used ol' Rampart over Derp. Wild that a sand castle is more competent.''
