Out past Dewford lies the wreckage of oil rig known as SEA MAUVILLE. As most people know, the old abandoned wreckage is now the home to countless Ghost Pokemon, and is now currently being used as ELAINA PIERCE 's secret base. During the day, the area is covered by an extremely thick fog and even extends to the inside of the wreckage, making it difficult for trespassers to see in. However, at night, the fog mysteriously vanishes, as if begging for you to explore it. Inside the wreckage, the place is somewhat flooded, having water come slightly over your waist for those of average height as well as the smell of must and god knows what else invades your nostrils.

Despite SEA MAUVILLE being home to a plethora of wild ghost pokemon, they aren't the ones you should be worried about ... what you should be concerned of is Elaina's DHELMISE patrolling the entirety of the wreckage. The moment it spots you ... you should run. Will you collect your booty from this haunted shipwreck, or will Elaina's Dhelmise's ANCHOR SHOT drag you down to Davy Jones's Locker?

- Base Guardian's Ability/Moveset: Steelworker - /Gyro Ball/Metal Sound/Growth/Anchor Shot/Phantom Force/Giga Drain
- best to traverse at nighttime

Having known the wreckage of Sea Mauville was covered in a thick and mysterious fog during the daytime, Josh returned to the ghost-infested locale by night, astride his Lanturn, Illumina. He had learned so by taking on a Ranger mission to recover one of a destroyed vessel's data recorders as part of an accident investigation. With the fog gone, Josh entered the derelict vessel in search of the desired recorder, switching rides to his Vaporeon when the water became too shallow to ride a traditional swimming Pokémon in.

The waist-high water was little trouble for Kairi, able to trot through it with little trouble! While he was able to find and retrieve the flag from the back of the bridge without too much difficulty, getting out would prove to be the difficult part, as a Dhelmise would trip Kairi up with its ANCHOR SHOT! Josh let go of the water-type and sent out Resheph, his Dragonair, who was quick to scoop him up. He withdrew his struggling Vaporeon before wrapping his arms around his Dragonair and fleeing from the aggressive grass-type phantom as fast as the serpent's agile frame and the maze-like wreckage would allow.

Nighttime. A derelict, man-made structure in the middle of the Hoennian sea. The perfect setup for a horror film.

Surfing on Brody's back, while having Bronson light up the way with his Illuminate ability, Andrea perused Sea Mauville's gloomy, musty, moisture-y hallways for hidden secrets and/or treasure. Little did she know that she was being stalked by a Dhelmise that guarded the nearby secret base.

As soon as the young PokéManiac picked up a sparkling object that looked like a flag, the possessed anchor started hunting them down, using its Phantom Force to easily catch up with them. The bros managed to distract it with dual Yawns, allowing them to narrowly escape the haunted wreckage.
