THEIR POSITION REMAINS A SECRET. the element of surprise remains in their back pocket. among all the sunken treasures left to be found in ULTRA SEA, the bright allure of WILD RIFT portals remain the most valuable. their glaring appearance is a beacon for would be ambushers.

the SCALD coming his way gets the jump on him well en route. he’s barely able to finesse a pokeball in time, much less shout a command. the reaction time necessary to protect against it proves near impossible. the pokemon would have to know the command ahead of time.

which is why he relies on his trusted GLALIE.

the same GLALIE that had championed him through rocket’s occupation of SLATEPORT.

the same GLALIE that fought until the bitter end against rocket’s monster trio of priam conrad, Killian Decker, and bryan delarosa.

and now? the GLALIE synced to his very heart.

fresh steam hides the results of the TOXAPEX’s SCALD. it clearly lands but the result remain ambiguous until luminescent green bleeds against the backdrop of their environment.

“battle routine set!”

the moment the GLALIE is summoned, it does what it always does: PROTECT. whether it be thrust into battle, summoned to his office, or released for its routine feeding. the pokemon always opens with PROTECT. for it is the pokemon fernando trusts with his life.

“execute!”

his black suit comes undone as his SYGNA SUIT expands across his current uniform. boasting the same pale white as the GLALIE’s stone surface, his SYNC STONE pulses with pointed prejudice.

FERNANDO WAITS FOR HIS GLALIE TO COMMIT TO THE BLIZZARD. once the howling winds obscure their position, he immediate starts to move. for his survival is paramount for their win. to let their opponent know where to target is an advantage he will not afford him, all the while ignorant that his attempts may be thwarted by the burrower underground.

the SCALD manages to slice a small hole in the BLIZZARD. it strikes with a stinging burn against the glalie’s frozen exterior. freeze burn blue starts to form but the pokemon ignores the pain. if anything the BLIZZARD only intensifies, the cool air mending the otherwise stinging burn.

underground, fernando’s footsteps would come to a stop, only to be joined with two small yet heavier hooves.

THE NIDOKING CATCHES HIM BY SURPRISE. when the ground erupts, the pokemon nearly skewers him outright. however, the reason for his stopping was to climb his newly summoned DODRIO. the clumping of bodies prevents the pokemon from a clean pierce, instead, launching him back in more of a tackle while his pokemon suffers the bulk of the attack.

two large bodies crossing against each other results in the NIDOKING’s horn grazing past thick feathers and leaving a long cut against its flesh. more focused on retaliating than anything else, one of the heads responds with an aggravated DRILL PECK.

the other flails around in pain, suffering as the main central nervous system, while the dullest sticks its head out to PLUCK at fernando. it pulls him closer, desperate hands looking to cling to any of the pokemon’s three elongated necks.

they land backwards and the head clumsily forces him aboard.


when the BLIZZARD faces resistance, it takes a moment for the GLALIE to realize the ICY WIND is a similar attack. once it recognizes that, it immediately stops, facing the wind outright. these elements, do little to the ice solid pokemon, granting it a chance to home in on the source.

with surprising quickness, it launches itself like a torpedo, looking to CRUNCH into the TOXAPEX with its huge jaws.
