Kouji thought about it for a moment, properly on whether to add his name but he just shrugged. ”Appreciate it kid, but a guy like me can’t go all the way to the E4 circuit, plus wouldn’t want you to have passed a criminal, that ain’t good on your record; y’know?” He said as he took the badge in hand, it was something; a point of pride, what was it now? Two? It was definitely worthwhile.

”But you were strong, it could’ve gone either way, Kommo’o could’ve been knocked out with a breeze.” He said as he drew back his pokemon, ready to have him back in his ball. Kouji wondered just how much healing these two would need, and finally he had to acknowledge the power of these gym leaders.

”Don’t let these crooked adults mess you up too much, keep three eyes on a guy, even those you love might not be who you think.” It was the last piece of advice he himself could offer, but then again…Was it really worth it to have another him walking about? But then again.

That was for the best. Kouji gave a wave over his shoulder as he walked away, a proper smirk on his face. He’d have to challenge more, but he knew that he could do it in the end. It was just a matter of time.

It wasn’t a hard thing to do, it was what Kouji would’ve done regardless. He was a soldier to be used and discarded, that was what he’d lived his entire life for, when it came to training underneath his family, when it came to Kanto, and finally when it came to here. It was only here he joined officially, but he had always been a tool to be used.

Kouji wore the mask over the lower half of his face, his trainer card well prepared, this was one of those annoying points really…Making sure he didn’t flag. But that was never going to be easy for someone like himself. Malamar helped at the door, but for the rest of the way it was just him and his two pokemon.

”Kouma here, looking to challenge ya. Hope you take it easy on me.” The league gym challenge was exactly as it said, challenging. They were all strong trainers so he couldn’t take it easy here, or now. He kept his focus fixed onto his opponent to see which options he’d take.

Grouping together into one, Kouji knew this was never going to be easy with a gym leader, catching them on their way down. They were a person of the sky, so Kouji had to make that difficult, or die trying.

”Knock ‘em out the sky.” Meowscarada jumped from a tree’s branch heading into the air, a dark energy gathering into their paw as she swiped the air, aiming for the flying type.

”You’re gonna have to come down, because it ain’t going to go easy.” He said as he leapt down from where he stood, a mask covering the lower half of his face. Gathering information on the gym leaders, that was his motive. His golden eyes stared at Alexei.

Kouji grinned as he looked back at Tempest.

”You know who you’re talking to?” He said with a toothy grin, a smile on his face as he looked backwards towards his Samurott who gave a howl as a reply to his trainers call, getting itself into the mood properly and finally jetting forward with a strong start.

”Meowscarada, Grass pledge, we’re going for the SD route.” Slow Down, it was a mixture of the two pledge moves that were expected to strike in this moment. A constant battle between the two moves before they joined into one, growing far stronger than the individual.

The water pledge was a weak bounce off its hide, but the grass pledge immediately after was far stronger, joining together to create a sludge that was difficult to move through, invading the water itself. Mud, a field effect unique to this mixture.

”We’ll keep slowing it down, and playing games with it. Keep your head sharp, yeah? Wouldn’t wanna lose my favourite new beast a couple weeks after getting the position.”

The constant shots of psychic was dangerous, it was something that would kill him instantly, and so he was aware of it straight away. He felt the constant flow of the battle, feeling out the conditions, and letting his experience speak. It was why he moved onto a dash as his Houndoom led the path, allowing Kouji to follow behind the pokemon for a moment as the duo rushed towards the Oranguru.

”Aye, we’ll take him down together. We can’t let Genny do all the work, can we?”

It was why he moved in sync, and then out of sync in a singular moment that created an opening for his opponent. But that was just a fake as his Samurott leapt over his head to protect his trainer in the last moment.

Flamethrower and Ceaseless Edge struck at the same moment, a mixture of flames and darkness, almost cursed in the way they were. He looked over his shoulder as he cracked his shoulder. ”Take the shot, it’s all yours!”

The battle would have to end.

Keeping pace with Domon, Qing was punching forward step by step as he struck with Close Combat, each strike was ready to strike at the core of his opponent to cause them to shatter them.

But it was a constant battle; it felt like it would never end as he struck back at the enraged primeape who struck back with a Drain Punch which hit hard, causing his Urshifu to fly backwards.

It was going to be a painful fight, he looked at his pokemon and then sighed. He took his knife into hand, his pokemon was injured and he was going to be taking a lot of damage, so he allowed the gemstone at the base of the knife to glow anew.

Mega Evolution, it’s a constant battle within oneself, but the Infinity energy within the pokemon surged outwards in an explosion as the colour of his fur changed, and the energy continued to flow onwards.

Dark energies surged forwards.

The seas were tough, it was why he was glad it was the two of them, men of the waters in different ways. Kouji was a smuggler, but Tempest was an entirely different creature, grown and raised around waters such as these. ”We’re gonna fight a darn legend, you ready?” He never liked it, but the thickening rain that felt like subtle slaps against his darkened skin.

It was a tough couple months, but more than anything else, he felt a man older; time was always the core of his story wasn’t it? Just how much it slipped between his fingers, and once again he had lost a large chunk.

”We’ll have to tackle it at once, we might have to make a barrier of different weather.”

Kouji scoffed at that.

”Last time we made an arrangement, you disappeared for months.” He said as he ran a hand through his hair; longer than before; but it was still comfortable. ”Soo…As you pompous pricks would say…Forgive me for not trusting you after that, but how did Kanto treat your august self.”

There was a sneer that followed his voice, but then he coughed aloud to clear his chest for a moment. The lights that bled through the windows caught on his golden eyes, giving them a shine.

”I hope it’s something that furthers your goals, because your disappearance has thrown a wrench in my ideas.” He said as he looked in front of him, getting up from the chair, and closing the distance to the other man.

”Because it’s time to let my interests shine, I’ll be honest. We’re weak.”

The final clash had occurred, between the two juggernaut pokemon as they hit their final clash; Kommo’o had taken the full brunt of psychic power and tried to power through, hitting strike after strike as he felt himself being crushed, a super effective strike against himself; hitting again and again.

It was painful, it constantly struck at his scales until he stopped; his opponent fell but Kommo’o fell to his knees just as well, heavy breaths came from the dragon as its scales shingled in the air.

There was a sound as it struggled to keep consciousness, the Orbeetle that he fought was powerful, if it had been a one on one it’d have been a lost fight. But now, it was different, Absol and he were a strong combo.

”Everyone has lost at least once, but, your job relies on it huh? Guess that’s tough, you’re a strong one.” Kouji said as Kommo’o fell forward before catching itself on his claws before throwing itself upwards with a roar, shaking on side to side on his feet.

”You’re strong, I’d have kicked at the world if I was a blind kid thrust into this shit, I was just an idiot kid who thought he could do too much.” He said as he cracked his neck both ways.

”I take this is my win?” He said as he looked at Kommo’o, but it really just felt like a draw, if it were a real battle, Kommo’o would put up less of a fight than a paper bag.

A couple of months ago he would’ve considered this a waste of time, right now? He still considered it a waste of time, but at least he could drink. His piercing golden eyes swept the room as he strolled alongside his formidable Urshifu, both clad in impeccably matched suits.
The obsidian suit jacket, intertwined with a cardinal tie sporting a discreet "R." Deep navy trousers embraced the wearer's stride, finally leading down into the black leather boots. A level of refinement usually beyond this young Rocket…No longer as young as he had been only a few days ago.

The bear-like Pokémon bore a box within its paw, carefully wrapped; a unique herbal tea blend that he dubbed the green drink, and the bottle it was contained with. While it was homemade, he was sure the bottle itself was worth more.

”Make fun with the other pokemon; I’ve got some people to talk to.” Passing the table, his fingers sought refuge around a glass, a mere prop in this social theater. A tentative sip, an involuntary grimace, a reminder of his distaste. In truth, this should have been expected, he never liked the taste in the first place; there really wasn’t anything to look forward to.
