LATE SEPTEMBER — as ultra wormholes are sighted in the seas of hoenn, the region begins to be tainted by poisons, the source of which is unknown. parts of hoenn's seas darken with toxic waste, like oil spills. for this reason, head scientist, lucas lane, has entrusted volunteers with a special antidote formula that he has helped create with elite four, thomas benoit's sludge sample.[break][break][break]

unfortunately, a group of sickly parasect has been reported to fortree's local ranger headquarters. after having consumed some tainted berries, the parasect's parasitic mushroom has caused them to go berserk, endangering both wildlife and the public with their large pincirs and spores. the recommended course of action is to take them out of their misery. euthanize them with FIRE-TYPE MOVES, for their DRY SKIN will speed the process.[break][break][break]

This was just so incredibly sad. These poisons and toxins that have been filling Hoenn lately have proven absolutely devastating towards the local wildlife and plantlife alike. Considering Paresect was a mix of both, it only stood to reason that it would be affected just as strongly as others might have. Ruby would simply let out a sigh, frowning underneath the mask she wore as she sat atop her Bronzong.

"You think this is ever going to get better?" Ruby idly spoke towards her Pokemon as it kept her safe and out of the immediate area where the Parasect would be... put down, for a lack of a better word. If only they had a better way to help them. The young girl would sigh again as her pokemon's SUNNY DAY would brighten up the sky, letting the sunshine brightly down below and assist as best as she could without immediately getting involved. It left a sore taste in her mouth.

"Come on Bella, let's go home soon." The Bronzong wouldn't audibly communicate, just slowly picking itself back off the ground and beginning its gentle float back towards town. Hopefully, everyone else would be fine without them. With all this pain, suffering, and death... Would Hoenn ever recover?

The command is literal this time. With Parasect's innate behavior leaning toward parasitic, allowing infected ones spread their influence would prove even more disasterous. A constant stream of OVERHEAT from Fernando's Pyroar makes short work them. The flame consumate DRY SKIN, spreading along the swarm until only ashes remain. It's not the most synpathetic route but burning them into nothingness helps curb the poisonious pandemic.

To think the wormholes would bring such a sad event, where an abundant amount of Parasects must be murdered in order to prevent the destruction of an ecosystem. What was the point of making those antidotes if you couldn't use them to save the corrupted pokemons? Give them a better life then the suffering caused by the sickness.[break][break]

As Balder arrived upon the field, those sad thoughts flooded his mind. And yet, nothing could be done to save them. Except to put the creatures out of their misery. And the best way was to do it quickly so they don't get to feel the pain. Thus, the alolan man called his Cinderace upon the field. The rabbit that appeared on the field looked at his opponents, then at his owner.[break][break]

"End their suffering. Quick and painlessly with your most accurate shot." The soccer played nodded, understanding what needed to be done. Summoning a Pyro Ball, he proceeded to take aim at one of the parasects, taking a step back before kicking the ball at full power. He then proceeded to repeat this process a few times, assisting other pokemons from other trainers to "save" these insects.

the reason why they're using fire-types against parasects was logical, but kyle doesn't know how sadistic people can be for them to actually take this option over anything else. not that he can't complain though since it does get results.

his delphox was out, and flames resembling as wisps circle around the tip of his wand. he raises it up in the air and fires off the mystical fire all around him, dealing with multiple parasect at once.

oversensitive to fire, the pokemon react badly to every little bit of ember on them. there's restraint present, but even then, it was either that these pokemon were good actors, or they were just legitimately dying.

either way, it's not kyle's job to worry about it since he's just following the protocol.

All it took was the faintest ember for the fire took hold. It spread like a wildfire across the sickly tinder skin of the parasitic pokemon. Unable to register the flames that were eating away at their bodies each of the parasects continued their rampage. Even when their legs had burned away they dragged their bodies with charred pincers. It wasn't until their heart stopped breathing that they finally stopped moving.

parasect were always sick or infected with some form of ailment; after all, their bodies are nothing but decaying flesh moved and jerked around by something that shouldn't be there.

dominic turns to his volcarona and gestures to the squirming parasect, echoing the order they had been given earlier. they call it a coup de gras but dominic can't identify any mercy in the volcarona's cerulean compound eyes when it swirls its flame-licked wings and sets the dying pokemon alight.

the scientist donned a gas mask to prevent the spores from intoxicating her whilst her ninetales releases a steady stream of fire from its snout. the inferno attacks the parasect, melting them and their spores down to nothing but ashes. the duo work like clockwork, razing down the poisoned insects without much thoughts about it. it was unfortunate, but unfortunate things happened all the time. faintly, the idea of bringing back a live specimen or a fresh corpse to dissect crossed the scientist's mind. learning how things worked was one way to prevent them from 'breaking' next time. but, the risk of trying to secure one of the poisonous, spore spewing creatures proves to be too much of a task - more than circe's willing to deal with at the moment.

the risk of inhaling smoke is a thought that crosses her mind as fire attacks are haphazardly used to execute the diseased bug types. hopefully, most of the other wild-life had evacuated the area by now, least they also got caught up in the wild blaze.

The pair waited patiently in the bush as the chittering and chattering of rabid Parasect filled the forest air. Rangers and civilians alike screamed in terror as the parasitic beings chased after them. Kagu, the old turtle, closed her eyes to listen. She quietly blew grey smoke from her nostrils when she heard one of the zombies draw closer... and readied herself when the sound of one suddenly became many.[break][break]

They came; they attacked. But the moment one of them struck the back of the shell she so gladly presented, they had sealed their fate. The SHELL TRAP had been ignited, and the explosive sound of it reverberated throughout the haunting night air for miles. What was left was scorched earth, blackened trees, and the unrecognizable husks of the Parasect that had once been.[break]
