the mission is simple: expunge the poison out of sootopolis city.[break][break]

league reinforcement comes as soon as possible in the warfront areas but lesser and slower in the quieter towns on the time of invasion. but sootopolis is soiled as much as lilycove and mauville and people here are more in danger having its natural terrain preventing the toxins from escaping the caldera. selena arrives with a band of rangers with the same objectives and as they descend down the crater of the city, she nudges on the one nearer her side.[break][break]

“what's your best way of removing the poison? mine's psychic.” above her noctowl, she retrieves two pokeballs from her pockets, preparing to hurl them as soon as they land on the ground.[break][break]

The ranger felt a bit guilty, he had been so busy working on other parts of the region that needed the poison clearing that he neglected his current home city. Part of him felt like an idiot for never checking though he couldn’t dwell on it now. He was on a team with fellow Rangers and a Gym Leader now to help clear it all. Thankfully as they flew over from what he could tell it didn’t look as bad as other parts. [break][break]

“Same really, though I find that using a Grassy Terrain helps in the recovery as well,” he replies back as the Ranger in charge gives the briefing once more, reminds them to keep their mask on, how they’ve each been given specially designed packs that can help carry some of the poison until they could give it to his Muk to eat as thanks to the antidotes they had they’ve found a way for their Alolan Muk to eat the poison they collect. As they land he gives one last reminder to give priority to any civilian or pokemon in need, stay in teams just in case and if there were any questions to just radio in. [break][break]

With that done Razz would have suggested going to the park to start clearing things up, “Sorry if I haven’t introduced myself yet, Razz Kingsman,” he introduces as the Meowstic on his shoulder bugs him before the psychic cat gets to work, the Ranger sending out Fern to help with things too. “Do you work with the Rangers often Ms. Desmarais?”

the gym leader watches still the ranger do his work before she reacts. “you can call me selena.”[break][break]

upon his thwackey's release, selena throws circe's and calliope's capsules. “not so much. i have worked with a few like councilor Orion Lykos and i've met head ranger Laurence Anderson.” she pauses, then gives the man a smile. “though i'm always in touch with Kaida Adachi. we've worked on a lot of missions together.”[break][break]

the pinkette starts working, giving directions to her psychic types to use their telekinetic force to carry the poison from the park's waterways. with their structure being much dense, the delphox and the gardevoir easily carry the toxic into her bag.[break][break]

“how about you? it seems like this is the first time we've met, considering our headquarters are located in the same city.” a gentle chuckle escapes her mouth before telling her pokemons to repeat the process.[break][break]

Razz can't help but unconsciously step back at the site of the fire pokemon the gym leader spawned out. Honestly at the rate he was going he was never going to be used to fire types. "If that's what you prefer, of course," he tries to be professional as he listens in on her experience with the other rangers. "Impressive, I've only had the chance to meet each of them once... or... twice," he ponders for a moment as he wonders if the meeting before the war really counted. "So I don't know the others that much, I'm just a low tier ranger," is what he calls himself even if among them he has started to get a bit of a name thanks to his achievements in Mauville. [break][break]

Razz looks back to the park as he whistles and points in order to direct Fern. Salem was competent enough to collect the poison on his own with PSYCHIC to put into the container Razz had. However Fern was quick to lose focus thus the direct direction needed as he came behind all the psychic users to focused on his GRASSY SURGE to help recover the land underneath. [break][break]

"Our headquarters? what do you mean by that?" he asked clearly not understanding did she mean the league and rangers being one in the same? "Sorry, it's probably because I only joined the Rangers at the beginning of summer, so that's probably why we've never met," he says apologetically as if he were at fault with that even if it wasn't something that could be done.

“you alright?” selena notices the slight discomfort from Razz Kingsman upon summoning her pokemons which calliope also senses. their trainer hushes them back to their work, in which tue is immediately summoned to assist with handling the poison bag.[break][break]

“i guess we could have met in the beach party?” she muses at the event of the past summer and how it is particularly eventful, being the calm of hoenn before the storm that is the megalopolan invasion. “although i think i'm very much occupied during that time that i don't had the energy to socialize that much.”[break][break]

seeing how the trio is faring well at their work, she decides to accompany razz's mons with her own rillaboom, who sends his own grassy surge on top of fern's. “isn't rangers' main headquarters located in lilycove? it happens to be a short walk from the vantage.”[break][break]

"Hmm? Ah Y-yeah fine... just fine," the ranger lied like it was second nature. Which honestly at this point it was considering so much else about him was a lie so it was little problem adding another. Though unlike his background, his weariness of fire-types wasn't as well practiced so who knows if they other could see through it. [break][break]

He chuckles lightly at the mention of the beach party as he recalls all the little games his Meowstic made him participate in. "No worries, social things are not something I really participate in anyways," he informs, if he was recalling correctly he didn't interact with anyone at the beach until he was given the Zeraora. And that was because the cat had shocked someone else on accident. [break][break]

At the sight of the rillaboom Fern seemed to get excited. The pre-evolution using his Grassy Glide to slide over to the Drummer pokemon as he drummed his sticks on the grass to create a beat. "Fern if they want to play later fine, but for now we still have a job," he tries to be firm to keep the grass monkey focused. Despite the pouting Thwackey he still gives the gym leader an ear, "Oh is that why you accompany Ranger missions often then? Cause you're so close by?"

selena catches Razz Kingsman's stutter, realizing the man could have said otherwise and is not confident to tell her his sort of discomfort. she can only hope their being away helps alleviating his distress.[break][break]

meanwhile, her rillaboom continues to pound on his stomach as the grassy surge heightens. when rillaboom notices the thwackey beside him, he only gives a smile.[break][break]

“that can be the case,” the gym leader smiles at the ranger's suggestion, although she is thinking there's another reason why. “and probably because i'm a journalist. i need to chase stories.”[break][break]

she observes how the grassy surge is indeed healing their surroundings. after taking away the poison, the terrain seems to nurture the earth back to health.[break][break]

“anyway, did you already tell me where'd you come from? and what made you decide to take the ranger career just now?”[break][break]

Despite what felt like him stating an obvious lie Razz was grateful the other didn't pry into it. For now he kneels down a bit to check on Salem as he brings more poison to put into the container. Making sure he wasn't too overworked, but the cat ensured him that everything was fine and that he had the energy for so much more. "Journalism too?" he looks to the other with some surprise "How do you manage work like this, being a Gym Leader AND Journalism?" he ask clearly bewildered as the young man could barely think about handling this job and any other as he still had to make time to train his pokemon. [break][break]

As the psychic pokemon clear the poison Fern continues to use his GRASSY GLIDE to move quickly through the park, making a musical beat with his twigs to spread his Grassy Surge around. All to help it spread more and it seemed to even attract a few pokemon liking to see their home get some treatment. [break][break]

At her questions he could definately see the curious nature in her that made it obvious that she was indeed a journalist. "I'm from Kalos, though I actually live here in this city now," he replies as he gestures to where they currently were, "And ummmm I don't know really, kinda feel like I was a shit kid and thought hey maybe getting this would do good if that make sense? What of you? About the writing that is.... not Rangering..." why did that come out so awkward?

The young man chuckles slightly at her answer. Guess it really was too much for one person, though he wasn't too surprised by it honestly. Razz did ponder about what she meant on trying to train things her parents didn't, but he didn't know her enough to ask about that. "Well just try not to spread yourself too thin there," he tries to advise. The ranger may not have hobbies like she did with this second job of hers but Razz felt like he's done enough to understand what was too much. [break][break]

As the Gardevoir comes back with a bag, Salem also finishes up as he put the last of what he has into the bag Razz had. He did have to scan the park for her as the little drummer seemed to be putting on a music show for some of the wild pokemon there. With a whistle the Thwacky put a stop to his music, much to the dismay of the wild pokemon listening, as he quickly ran back to him. "For the best to get the poison fed to the Muk rather than let it sit so we can keep going, I'll send a message that we're on out way." [break][break]

After the message they would get new bags to fill and move onto the next to repeat the process. At the very least his home would be better for this.
