Amidst the obvious tension between their companions, Orion can only glance awkwardly at his fellow Ranger in some silent plea to save him from this disaster they'd signed up for.

The stiffness in his limbs does not abate when the rocks crumble to reveal darkness beyond, but this is a problem to which Orion has a solution. Ruffling Silvally's mane in silent thanks, he swaps out the chimera for a Pokemon better suited for water than land. The Lanturn's light, however, illuminates the caverns beyond where theirs cannot.

"Bit creepy how dark it is down here," he remarks off-hand, more to fill a silence he finds awkward than for any real hope of conversation. "I don't think Neph's light will be enough on its own."

"your up simba. light the way." as he released his zeraora out of its ball the cat began rubbing its hands together as its plasma fists started to glow with a shimmering hue, lighting up the area around them. still it was pretty dark and only a candle light compared to the shadows. "anyone got like...a portable fire place. or even a flashlight. wait did anyone bring a flashlight with us? i figure they'd hand those out too us yknow?" wasn't it important gear to have on hand when down in a mine or something like this? who was running this operation!?

"Just a second..." There were tons of useful tricks to starting a fire, or producing some form of visible light, but Adrian got the bright idea to use a Chinchou. That's right, in the middle of a cave...

But it definitely worked, although his fingers felt slimy as he carried around the poor fish.

He's able to make out the tunnel's layout as they stumble meekly forward, careful of any treacherous ground as they delved deeper into the earth, trespassing on god-knows-what sort of sites.

"Anyone seeing anything... interesting?"

Know and use ILLUMINATE.

Thus, they timidly scurry away or continue to watch from afar with ominous curiosity. Suddenly, the earth groans. The ground underneath you shakes. "yeah a dead end. looks like we'll have to bust our way out, so...let's strt small i guess." bring out a spinarak might be the least best way to start small. the thing was even smaller than the smallest rock surrounding them! "sting this wall to death romanov." commanded kazimir which prompted a spray of poison sting that chipped away at the wall in various spots. all the while kazimir was busy digging into it with his bare hands, determined to get out of here and get some fresh air sometime soon.

"Small, huh?" Adrian didn't do so well at slow-and-steady, but he'd take a crack at it, loosing a Weezing from his collection. "Miasma, use Clear Smog." Whether it'd help dig, he wasn't sure, but it helped to clear away to dust and dirt shaking off the walls with every blow, and layered the surfaces with the precipitation of the forming smog.

Where this misty layer formed droplets the wall would steam faintly, as if reacting to the chemical components within. ...Did that even help?

Rubbing the back of his neck, Orion looks uncomfortable as he pulls a pokeball from his belt.

The source of his discomfort becomes clear as a Tentacruel emerges from its ball into the dusty, water-devoid cavern. Its tentacles fold into a messy pile and though he can't see its eyes beneath its umbrella-shaped hood, he's certain it's glaring at him.

"We need your help, and there's no water nearby..."

He's glad that she aims her acid spray at the obstruction, rather than at him.

When Adrian heard the cries of pokemon from within, his urging became more genuine, even dire. Stygian poured over the pale of his sclera as amber eyes sought insight into what lay ahead...

But he could see nothing as of yet.

Lidding his eyes as he rattled himself out of his trance, Adrian snagged a pokeball with renewed vigor, unleashing a Kommo-o from among his selection. Perhaps, if they can hear us, they'll know we're on our way... He thought about it.

...And to stand back. "Kommo-o, use your Clanging Scales." The sounds of its scales clattering together filled the chamber, instilling the air with a humming of energy that shook the rock face, rendering the material susceptible to attack.

It's with relief that the councilman returns his Tentacruel in favour of a Hydreigon. Its heads growl and snap and bicker amongst themselves, but the ire is no longer directed at him.

"Might want to stand back."

He takes his own advice, backing up against the farthest wall as Hydreigon summons draco meteors to slam against the vulnerable points of another.

the sound of pokemon reached his ears as kazimir swapped out pokemon and traded in his little spider for a dragon that roar as he let his scales ring out. "alright alright i know your eager, so let's make some noise!" kazimir commanded his dragon who in turn usesd its clanging scales to create a symphony of sound throughout the cave that rattled the rock around them and hopefully make it come crumbling down.[break][break]
