With his work now done Salem decides to go back where he was most comfortable and jumped back onto his trainr’s shoulder pushing the ranger forward and nearly tripping him. When Remiel had first begun filling the draciary with his reserve of dragons (and other pokémon), the monumental amount of work required to properly care for them was certainly staggering. But professionals had been consulted, workers had been conscripted, and the challenge was taken nonetheless. If he hadn't had his wealth or the resources at his disposal, however, the ambassador couldn't have achieved what he had without government or volunteer help.[break][break]

"It certainly wasn't easy starting out, but we've managed well since then." He responds, the wheelbarrow he pushes along bouncing when it runs over a tennis ball-sized rock. "We're only feeding some of the aquatic creatures. The rest are fed early in the morning, or must hunt down the small prey we release into the habitat daily."[break]

It wasn't easy says the man who had the resources to make all this happen and even hire people who could take care of it all. Though that would be rude to comment on as he doesn't know what the other has done to get it all done. For now he just checks after the other as he bumps into the rock and ensure nothing fell over as the approached the new building. [break][break]

"That makes a bit more sense, should be fun to see your aquatic creatures," he comments starting to grow a fondness of them himself, as water pokemon were definitely his biggest collection. "So for those that need to hunt, how can you be sure some don't take more than the others?"

Remiel continues to guide the wheelbarrow down the dirt path, the shadows of the trees above sweeping over them as they continue. In the distance, a massive bio-dome begins to appear, so large it covers the horizon entirely from view. It is impossible to grasp the actual dimensions of the scientific marvel without flying high above and seeing it from there. Strangely, the sunlight that hits its semi-transparent surface doesn't reflect back.[break][break]

"That happens, on occasion," Remiel nonchalantly responds. "We're running a carefully constructed habitat here, after all. Not a daycare. But the dragons typically only take what they need. We provide them with just enough of a surplus to spare."[break][break]

Earl Grey floats forward, leading the way now as they near the bio-dome's entrance. "Where my medical expertise falls short, we call in a veterinarian from Rustboro weekly to provide the rest. Any dragons that may be having a tough time acclimating to the conditions in our habitat are quickly exported to another. It's only happened twice, so far."[break][break]

To pamper a dragon like a pet was a disgrace. They were meant to live their lives as intended: either in the wild, or in combat. Remiel's draciary was a blend of both those worlds, a territory where they could be researched and stowed away, living their lives as they would in nature... until he had use of them in other, more violent, matters.[break]

"Woah," Razz can't help but mutter when he sees the dome finally. It's an incredible site and honestly the ranger still can't comprehend just how much Remiel makes. Though they did mention something about being disowned by the royal family right? So was this without the name? He isn't sure but it's honestly not his place to ask. All he could really do was be impressed by the way he handled his pokemon.

There's a guard station just outside the wide entrance to the bio-dome. It is shuttered and unoccupied, however, with the lack of an on-duty guard. Instead, various security cameras installed nearby turn to regard Remiel and his friend. A digital being lurks within these systems, acting as guard itself in case of an emergency.[break][break]

Setting down the wheelbarrow, the black-haired royal calmly pulls out a lanyard that has been hanging around his neck. Attached to it is a keycard, and he steps forward to scan it over a keycard station installed to the side of the sealed metal gate. Though the aforementioned digital being can see him clearly, this is the last authorization it needs before allowing entry.[break][break]

The gates hiss as they begin to slowly slide apart. Returning to his wheelbarrow, Remiel lifts it up once more before responding to Razz's inquiry. "One was sent to a habitat in Johto. The other to my relatives in Kalos. I've told you about them, right?" He asks, guiding them through a small menagerie filled with tools, supplies, and spare food.[break][break]

Just beyond, however, past a thick iron gate, the exit seemed to lead towards a garden of eden bathed in sparkling sunlight.[break][break]

At the guard station Razz couldn’t help but a bit of a look around, taking note how no one was inside. Which was to be expected with the whole holiday thing and everything. Though he is curious about the need of security. “Is this place attacked often for the need of such security?” he couldn’t help but question as he waited for the prince to let them in. For now just keeping hold of the barrel of fish he’s been asked to carry. [break][break]

He takes a moment to think back to any old conversations they had about the other’s family. “I think I recall you mentioning your mother's side of the family was Kalosian right?” he inquires to be sure he was remembering correctly. Once again there is that worry of being with someone who knew way more of Kalos than he did, when he was suppose to play 'native,' but he'll deal with it. [break][break]

Besides watching the gate open to see what was inside was much more fascinating.

Remiel shakes his head. "We haven't had anyone attempt to breach the bio-dome yet, besides wild pokemon: a gang of troublesome Sneasel in particular." He responds, motioning for Earl Grey to grab a pack hanging against the menagerie wall nearby. It levitates off its hook and follows the royal.

"The safety of the dragons here, their offspring, and the integrity of the bio-dome's ecosystem is paramount, however. We try to take every precaution we can ahead of time." He adds, pushing the wheelbarrow along as they approach the iron gate ahead.

Next to the menagerie's exit, a large switch waits in its 'off' position with a red light beaming above it. Remiel pauses to flip it on, and the light flicks to green instead as the iron gate begins to sink into the ground below. "Father's side, primarily," He answers, turning to Razz. "He renounced his Kalosian titles when he married mother. But alas,"

Their focus on the ongoing conversation is almost undoubtedly snatched away by the glittering paradise ahead as they step forward past the iron gate. A gentle breeze sweeps through and tickles their hair with a light spray of spring water as they gaze upon it. The sound of roaring waterfalls from deep within the forest permeates the air.

Chirps, chitters, and howls emanate from this thick and lush wilderness as well. The scent of pine and fresh dirt graces their nostrils like an old companion. Up above, in the seemingly endless sky, a flock of Drampa soar and bellow to one another. They are joined by a beautiful Altaria in mid-aria, basking in the sunlight gleefully.

"Welcome to the Calcifet Draciary," Remiel nods, a smile in his cobalt eyes.

note: don't mind me while i have my jurassic park moment

Razz just nods in understanding as he didn't have much to add. The other was quiet through in their explanation so he feels it doesn't need much follow up about any possible thefts and questions of the environment for the dragons. [break][break]

"Right sorry your father," he knows they've talked about it before though at times details could get fuzzy. "I recall us having that part in common, the half Kalosian part, why would he renounce his titles though if you don't mind me asking?" because while he understands why people basically disown family, heck he's done it to his own. Razz is a little curious on learning more of the other. [break][break]

Though the question is almost forgotten about as the gate finally opens and lets them in. Razz can only watch in awe with the lush around them almost looking free from most human interaction. Salem seemed excited and goes ahead of the group looking around fascinated. "It's amazing Calcifet, very impressive."

"Thank you," He says to Razz with a gracious nod, lifting his wheelbarrow up before rolling it along the gravel path ahead. The iron gate behind them, in the meantime, slowly begins to close as they advance. "The lake's this way."

The sounds of the man-made forest fill their ears with a great clamor of nature. Even so, Remiel manages to recall what they'd been talking about prior. "Now where were we... ah, yes: my father." He muses on the man for a moment. It was hard to even remember his face, at this point. Much less, it seemed, his intentions when he'd still been alive.

"The people of Galar believe he married for love, and renounced his Kalosian royalty for that reason alone. Others saw it as a calculated step up the ranks of the aristocracy. I, for one, can't really say... though I am certain he had little love for his former home."

Somewhere nearby, a ferocious hiss-like roar screeches out. But neither Remiel nor Earl Grey seem all too alarmed by it as the trees nearby rustle and creak.

The ranger walks along with other admittedly a bit more fascinated with what was around him rather than much of what Remiel was or wasn't saying. It wasn't until he was hearing a bit more that he made sure to pay a tad more attention as he didn't want to be rude to his host. Honestly he doesn't get it, what does love have to do with renouncing family? However what he does relate to is having little love for his former home. Honestly it was familiar and it hurt. "That's fair I suppose," he comments as it seems to be something the other's father and he had had in common with denouncing family. [break][break]

Razz can't help but tense in shock and surprise at the sudden roar and shaking of the ground. It was enough to almost make him drop the pail had Salem not focused and helped him steady. He was about to question the other with some worry until he noticed that they barely reacted to it. So it shouldn't be something to worry about though, "So which one was that?" Razz ask with some curiosity.

Using what conjecture he had to go on, based on what little Razz had told him about his relationship with his father, Remiel wasn't quick to assume the lad hadn't understood. On some level, surely, he did. But the madness and motives of the aristocracy went far deeper than anyone outside of it really imagined.

That was a lesson for another day, however.

Regarding his guest's inquiry, Remiel raises a brow and turns over his shoulder. He seems unclear as to what Razz was referring to for a moment. Then, thankfully, the mysterious dragon in question utters another hissing roar from the forest nearby. "Oh? Well I'd wager that's Archimedes. Knowing him, he'll make his presence known real soon." Earl Grey assures the lad with several nods, and Remiel smiles as they continue across a grassy plain covered in flowers— marred only by one large, muddy Tyrantrum print nearby.

"I'm appreciative you came, actually. There's a matter I'd like to discuss regarding my research in another field. I could use a ranger's point of view."

"And just what pokemon is Archimedes?" he ask because while there were plenty of pokemon who could do a similar roar, but he wasn't as good as some of his more senior rangers at identifying a pokemon via sound alone. The half blind ranger looks toward the nodding tea ghost, for now he'll trust the two. This was their place and their pokemon so they would soon see as to what this would be. [break][break]

"Oh a Ranger's perspective? I'm not to sure how helpful I'd be but I'll try," he replies nervous as he rubs the back of his neck as he doesn't want to disappoint the other.

Remiel raises a brow after he turns to look at Razz. "Would you like to see?" He inquiries, stopping the wheelbarrow in its tracks. "He isn't too far from here." He adds, steering himself into the forest nearby with little convincing.

As they cross into the shadow cast by the thick canopies above, Earl Grey the Sinistea floats ahead to provide some scouting. The fragrance of pine and rich soil is thick in this forest, and many of its trees are scarred with large claw marks and missing chunks. It appeared, at one point, a great battle had taken place in this area and changed its terrain.

For now, there's no sign of the creature from before. Remiel takes this opportunity to express gratitude to his friend for his offer to volunteer. "I'm happy to hear it, Kingsman. This is in regards to the Megalopolans and their technology."

“Of course, I’m curious to see what pokemon you have here plus what you’ve come to build. It's all been pretty impressive so far,” as they go deeper into the forest Razz runs his free hand along some of the scar marks. “Looks like your pokemon enjoy battling one another,” he comments off handedly, based on them this was definitely a big dragon. [break][break]

Though his eye can’t help but narrow with some concern about the idea of Megalopolan technology in the other possession. “Oh? And just what is it about?”
