"We're here at Slateport park where a clean up drive is currently ongoing brought to you by Hoenn's very own; Stormy Silph!" He exclaimed, allowing the mic clipped on his shirt to pick up what he had said. He held a poker on his left and a black bag on his right. "And we're here to participate. Come on down to Slateport park and join us on a noble cause."

The exploud held the camera up, recording Jak's exclusive scoop. Signalling the cut, exploud lowered the camera and handed it towards Jak who then turned it off. "Here pal, get it back on the van." He said, which the exploud followed shortly after, carrying the news camera back to their van.

Jak started picking up trash with his poker, for of course, what he said and did shouldn't be just for show.

And yet, every step she took reminded her of the horrors she had experienced during last new years celebration. It was, quite frankly remarkable to see people still going about life as normal. People were simply stunning like that, even the most mundane of people, still had the bravery to keep going. It was the very least she could do to help out, after all. [break][break]

She wasn't going to waste a title like Saint of Slateport for nothing, after all. [break][break]

With her twin Indeedee's at her sides, Ruby joined in with the cleaning efforts. Dear holding a large bag of trash as Darling went around with a miniature poker to pick up the trash. At least garbage was easier to clean than rubble, that much was for sure. [break][break]

From a distance, she spotted a group of people at one of the local parks and that sight alone brought joy. She'd give a polite little wave to the only person she immediately recognized, Stormy Silph , before wandering over as well. [break][break]

"Hello everyone," She'd speak up, a soft smile on her face as her Indeedee slowly moved to join her at the group. "I hope everyone is doing alright. Just rotten food, bottles, and wrappers for the most part on my end."[break][break]

With that, her eyes would scan the crowd once more. Only one person was somewhat familiar. She had the faint memory of Josh Dragomir helping her escort through some ghost-infested route long ago, but not anywhere near to really remember much about him. Regardless, she'd make sure to give him a polite small wave as well.

It felt like he was everywhere at once.

Ah, shit, why wasn’t it possible to have multiple copies of yourself, like that one character he’d read about who did lots of things in half the time simply because he could make multiple clones of himself?

Well then—

Thankfully today was a ‘day off’ for him, and so happened to pass by one of Slateport’s many parks. Oh, holy shit what a mess indeed.

There were several people already, and hilariously most of the men he could pick out were… redheads.

Come on, where the blonde recognition here?!

Chuckling softly to himself, he made his way into the park, grabbed an empty garbage bag and the poking stick. He didn’t know what the fuck it was called, just that it was sharp on one end and he could reach for high places with the stick no thanks to his height.

“So many redheads…” he muttered to himself as he began plucking garbage from around a tree with the stick.

Somewhere in the park is Jayden Cross.

[break][break] It is both surprising and unsurprising that he would find himself here, as he had been finding himself doing things that he would not have imagined himself doing as of late. Going on a fake-date with Chu-e Choi is one of them, and picking up trash on the side of a park after Slateport's Blackout is a close second. And yet, the Team Rocket grunt still found himself there, holding a piece of a trashbag to his hand as he holds a metal forked tool with another, picking up discarded chip bags, empty soda cups and crumpled pieces of paper with another.

[break][break] His Shuppet, however, is nowhere in sight. Maybe Veles is causing more trouble than it's worth, making even more of a mess somewhere...

[break][break] Jayden looks up, and he thinks he sees a flicker of light by a trashcan somewhere that rattled with a maniacal laugh, and tips over. Deeply, the boy sighs.

[break][break] However, at the very least, it is not all gone to waste. Hors is the opposite of the vengeful yet mischevious ghost, finding himself nearby Stormy Silph and inhaling trash by the gallon with STOCKPILE.

Did someone say Garbage Day? After the literal shitstorm that was the Slateport Blackout, with the weird crystal creature and the destruction it had wrought on the city, the movement that Stormy had organized was a welcome breath of fresh air. With all the effort being put in rebuilding, the city administration could use some help in cleaning the location.[break][break]

While the man felt awkward towards the lady who had organized everything, he had still given his word that he'd be there and he'd definitely provide the assistance he offered as best as possible. When Balder arrived, he noticed that a bunch of individuals were already hard at work, including Sénon Game and Stormy Silph .[break][break]

As the Alolan man grabbed the tools he needed, he proceeded to also summon his Machoke, Lucario, Chandelure and Centiskorch. While the two Fire POkemons would move to a safer area, the Machoke and Lucario proceeded to grab tools to assist everyone. "For burnable trash, don't hesitate to bring it to my fire types, they'll dispose of them!" Thus, the man joined the cleaning effort.

It didn’t take him too long to fish out garbage from somewhere halfway up in a tree, and then—more and more people were coming in.

Some of the newer arrivals, he recognized. Mostly it was Balder Schwartz and Ruby Walker.

Eyeing the Fire-types the Alolan man had sent out, he wondered if this was going to be a good idea…

“Don’t set the park on fire now!” he called in the Alolan’s direction, climbing up another tree to poke at whatever wayward pieces of garbage had gotten themselves stuck up there.

It was dirty work but hey, he did what he had to!

Despite her public presence, she never was one for large crowds of people. Too many sounds, too much too close. Probably best to just back away from the center for a bit and get some breathing room[break][break]

Her pokemon picked up on her nerves as well, with Dear even moving up to casually slip a hand into hers, half waddling-half leading her across the park. Of course, even as she began to walk away she noticed two more familiar individuals. Seeing Laurence Anderson climbing up a tree to fish out trash was certainly humorous. She'd give him a polite wave as well, chuckling quietly to herself. [break][break]

Moving all the way over towards where Balder Schwartz was, Ruby gave him a polite nod. Dear the Indeedee slowly walked up, lifting the bag above his head to hand over towards his Centiskorch, hoping to get rid of the trash he had been dragging around for so long. "Thanks for coming out, by the way! I mean, I didn't invite you, but... Well, you know!" Perfectly flawless as ever, an awkward laugh escaped her lips. [break][break]

Darling, however, was focused on the strange man within the tree. He certainly seemed like he could use a HELPING HAND. She'd start to clap and cheer for Laurence Anderson , doing the best she can to assist. It wasn't much, but even the littlest of actions counted somehow.

Seeing a new arrival hop out of a van Sénon waved him down. He also saw Balder Schwartz directing people and taking charge, it seemed like he was helping people everywhere he went. It was admirable for a man with a strippers body to have such humility. They were both a little too busy for Sénon to speak to him about those business ideas.

Another time then.

"You're late Preach." He was just ribbing the photo journalist a little, he didn't even know Jak would be here, but the timing was quite right.

One Hoenn's Elite Four taking time for her busy schedule to help clean up a park to the point of a great turn out on her behalf was a hell of a moment to make for a good photo op and a feel-good piece for the paper Jak wrote for.

Did he write for a paper?

Still getting to know the guy, that was a question better left for next time. "Thanks for coming Jak."

Things had gotten hectic in a hurry, but he didn't mind. What Josh did hear though, was someone offering Fire Types to try and burn as much trash as possible. Now that? That he could do. "Come on!" Josh called to Logu, the Fletchinder as it moved to join the other Fire Types. He then brought out his Charizard and Typhlosion as well, Fawkes and Inferno, who joined the fire party. Meanwhile his Raichu and Poipole were on gathering duty, with Fletchinder doing double duty.

Perhaps they might be able to clean this town by the night's end after all.

More familiar faces were there that the man hadn't spotted previously. Namely, Laurence Anderson and Ruby Walker . As the man saw them, he waved at them. But then, Lars proceeded to tell him to not set the park on fire. Did he really seem like the type of guy that would set fire to a location for the sake of clearing an objective? ~~The answer is yes according to the Mauville incident, but that's a thing of the past.~~[break][break]

"You might want to take a flying type to reach the trash in that tree, Laurence. Would be a shame if you got stuck in it." The Head Ranger, trying to climb a tree and collect trash stuck in the branches? Not something he had expected to see today. But before he could focus back on his task, the munchkin figure of Ruby nodded at him before thanking him, and being a bit awkward about it.[break][break]

Balder smiled gently at her before ruffling her hair a bit. "It's fine. I gotta at least offer the city some help after having participated in the chaos. Oh, that reminds me." The Alolan man proceeded to give the young lady a piece of paper, which held his phone number. "New phone. Now you'll be able to contact me if you need it." In the background, we could see the Centiskorch sending the trash bag up in the air before it and the Chandelure made it vanish with their flames.

"Don't mention it!" He replied with a nod as he disposed of whatever his poker might have poked into his trash bag. "I'm looking to join the ranks sometime soon, here's for a good first step." He added

"I suppose I'll have to contact you soon on a more professional note." Jak shrugged. By now, the journalist knew of the two prominent ranger figures; Stormy Silph and Sénon Game . Though merely acquaintances, he looked forward to work under their tutelage and hopefully rise the ranks himself.

Not to mention all the exclusive scoops he could amass working as a ranger. All the action shots, he thought, would be nothing short from perfect.

Luckily, she wouldn't have to wonder what it was for very long as the numbers were quite obvious. Almost immediately, Ruby's confused look shifted into a rather genuine smile up at him. "Yeah," She nodded her head in response. "But don't be surprised if I just, you know, ask you how your day is too! Talking to people only when you need them is rude." [break][break]

Her eyes would glance over at the pokemon burning trash safely, giggling softly at the sight of Dear all wide-eyed. He was normally always so calm and polite, seeing him excited about something was incredibly endearing. He was quick to run off to gather more trash, seemingly eager to let his new friends burn it all. Or at least, he seemed to think of them as friends fairly quickly.

Thankfully he had a sense of balance, so hanging onto the tree wasn’t too tricky. Although, the little boost that came from out of nowhere was definitely much appreciated, thank you very much!

Looking around once he’d managed to climb into the tree, he saw a familiar head of pink hair, and waved in Ruby Walker’s direction in greeting.

Now that he was up here, it was time to get picking!

More or less ten minutes had passed before he hoisted himself back down and out of the tree, sliding down the opposite side of the trunk.

“How the hell did trash end up all the way in the trees, I will never know,” he said to nobody in particular.

And his bag wasn’t even half-full yet!

The blonde waved at Ruby Walker as he passed, recognizing her from their little ghostbusting adventure before. Hopefully they would be able to catch up soon! But he had plenty to do for the time being. He called out to Jak Preach when he heard they were hoping to join the ranks. "Head up! A good Ranger always keeps calm and confident! I've been with them for a little while now, I can say it's great when you figure things out!" he did his best to encourage them.

He was a bit older, and now that he was starting to try and teach the youngers... His age was starting to show, he realized.
