He wondered if anyone was going to answer the group message. Otherwise, Lars kept an eye on the rampaging herd of Tauros—why did it not seem to be thinning out no matter how hard everyone was trying to save the festival?

“Ah, shit, really?” he huffed, taking another drag from the pipe in his mouth. “Looks like it’s time to call in the backup.”

Reaching into the sleeves of what he was wearing, he then flicked most of the containment units forward, watching as a Gardevoir and a Lucario unfurled themselves from the beams of red light.

“Lynette, Alpha. Help out anyone who needs it!” he instructed, and the two set off in another direction; offering assistance and helping bring the injured festival-goers over to where they could receive proper medical attention.

Back where the Gallade and the Metagross were gathering up the Tauros, it was still slow going!

Lex nearly dropped the Dango right out of her hand when Killian Decker snapped back. Her jaw hung loose in astonishment. His words cut at fresh wounds, still sensitive to the lightest touch. Lex still held a sense of shame and guilt tightly. He had forgiven her, but she hadn’t forgiven herself. And was far from it. It’s hard to heal festering wounds. The fire inside her rose, encouraging her to bite back like she normally would. A mixture of fury and hurt twisted in her stomach, slowly moving up her throat. Instead of retaliation, she held her tongue and abruptly looked away. Her furrowed brows and tense posture would give her away, she was never good at hiding her feelings. She wanted to be mad and disagree, but his statement was hard to argue against and Lex wasn’t completely unreasonable. Much to her dismay, he was right . . . again.

Then he called her difficult; The straw that broke this delicate camel’s back.

Maybe she was being a little difficult, but she had too much pride to admit that and a lingering fear she could never shake. It was difficult to explain. Killian tempted her with competition. A silence hung in the air between them for a moment as she looked back towards him with an icy glare. If there was one thing she had mastered in life, it was a good cold shoulder.

“Fine,” the word came out short, as she turned away again to eye some of the game stalls nearby, “If I win, I get to continue to be difficult,” she tensed, waiting for his reaction. She hated that she was like this, especially towards him and after everything she had put him through. But he shared some blame when he rubbed salt in the wounds. The icy glare turned towards Nova, Lex was obviously bitter. This was all the stupid Zororak’s fault for giving herself Killian’s eyes.

Another down. Several more to go. Fernando works his way through the crowd as his two Pokemon continue in their pursuit of the rampaging Tauros. Thankfully, it seems everyone else manages to handle themselves just fine. Several trainers assist while everyone else either evacuates or remains unaffected. [break][break]

His call reminds his Pokemon to keep close. While addressing the Tauros is ideal, their primary goal is to keep their trainer safe. The bulk of his Urshifu has no trouble keeping up, hands steady, poised to strike should another Tauros come barreling through.

everything had erupted into chaos, a herd descending upon the unsuspecting crowd and threatening to trample the innocent. unfortunately, wearing a kimono was akin to being draped in carpet, cait unable to easily maneuver due to her present state of dress.

'oh no.'

it was gengar who had plucked his mistress up in a timely fashion, hastily sweeping her into a bridal position. unfortunately, she had endured being shoved several times over by the crowd beforehand, suffering through some bruising and a sprained ankle as a result.

"sénon?"

his name was the first to leave her lips, the woman's eyes rounding as she searched the area below them. gengar held her above the stampede as they rushed by, cait trembling at the sight.

'someone is going to get killed down there.'

if they hadn't already.

she was deposited onto a nearby tree, the branches strong enough to support her slight weight.

"gengar. find sénon. please."

the pokemon frowned a little, unwilling to part ways with the injured avatar.

"i'll be fine," she said, clinging onto the tree's trunk as she remained settled upon the thick branch. "i just want to make sure he's okay."

her eyes are aglow as she begins to tend to her own injuries, failing to immediately notice FERNANDO SILPH as he begins to thin the herd.

The way the herd has scattered means picking them off becomes quite easy. However, due to their rampant spreading, collecting all of them proves more tedious than difficult. He buries that thought in the actions of ‘right now’, grunting as a wild Tauros charges forward. [break][break]

“Incoming.” [break][break]

He calls the target out ahead of time. The few seconds he affords his Pokemon would be able for them to defend themselves. And, unsurprisingly, they do. His Urshifu grabs the Tauros by the horns, again, like a bicycle, before twisting it in a sudden swing. All that inertia works against the great beast as its flipped onto its back in a judo-like slam. [break][break]

His eyes follow to beast as its hoisted in a full arc right until it lands. In the same curve, he ctaches a glimpse of someone in the tree above. Is that—? [break][break]

He can’t miss that green hair anywhere. [break][break]

her bruises were easily dealt with in her gengar's absence, which only left her ankle to tend to. cait's gaze constantly flitted about as she worked on mending the painfully torn ligaments, wincing slightly before the sharp agony began to slowly transition into a duller ache.

"huh?"

her superior's voice cut through the pollution of sound and discord, cait peering down until their gazes inevitably met.

"sir!"

aware that hopping down from the tree would make for a poor decision in her present state, she remained perched - her glowing eyes taking him in.

"are you alright?"

'and i wonder if he's seen sénon,' she thought, worriedly.

her gengar had yet to return.

That goes without question. Something as small as this seems paltry in comparison. If not for her position, outside of the danger zone, he would’ve presumed the same from her. Whatever injuries she’s sustained are not obvious from a distance and he remains aware of her present state. [break][break]

cait rolled it experimentally, sucking in a little breath as a twinge of discomfort radiated from the ankle of her right foot. a little more energy caused the tendons to be properly repaired - albeit sensitive in the aftermath of the healing.

"i should be fine now."

confident now that her body was in proper working order, she began to climb down; her movements well-practiced from years of performing such an act in the confines of fortree. the girl immediately dug into the folds of her kimono once her feet found earth, bringing forth two capsules. two bulky pokemon emerging from their respective red and white orbs, their thin pupils leveled upon the man before them.

"i can help," she said, prepared to take orders. "just tell me where you need me, sir."

Crowd control.

They needed a better method of crowd control.

Wondering if Raziel Beckett was somewhere helping, he caught sight of the Gardevoir and the Lucario helping hapless, injured festival-goers by taking them away from the front lines. Not too far from where the two were escorting civilians away from the crossfire, he saw the Metagross and Gallade, returning with a much lighter load of—well, then.

At least part of the herd had been set down outside of the town’s borders! But it still looked like it was a very long night ahead of them.

I swear, whoever set these Tauros upon the festival—has to be dealt with. If they get caught, he thought crossly, his eyebrows meeting in the middle for a few moments as he took another drag from his pipe.

Gods, it felt like there were even more Tauros just—appearing from who knew where and making things even messier the longer they were here.

Fernando hardly bats an eye at ‘bruises’. They’re as plentiful as the air they breath, purple and yellow patches that help distinguish character on the flesh of the afflicted. However, a sprained ankle is something he cannot ignore. That in itself helps Fernando decide to lean against her assistance but before he can protest she’s already scrambling down the tree. [break][break]

“You’re fine, Alfric.” [break][break]

And although the chaos continues, most of the chaos has died down except for the exact areas that Tauros have splintered toward. They’re mere pockets across the great ream of the Vital Spirit Festival. [break][break]

“Don’t worry about it. Everyone else is bound to take care of it. Just stay off your ankle and try to enjoy the rest of your night.” [break][break]

Their immediate area is clear as well and Fernando’s Pokemon start to rescind at the lack of danger. [break][break]

her aggron and tyranitar share a glance, their combined gazes soon shifting to take in the destruction that had been wrought.

"i had hoped things would go well tonight," she said.

she shook her head, her shoulders sagging lightly.

"just one night - "

cait abruptly cut herself off as her gaze sharpened and her expression turned from somber to serious, the woman deciding to instead veer the subject elsewhere.

"i lost sénon in the crowd," she informed. "have you seen him, sir? he's a red-head, long-haired and tall with tattoos."

He tries to be subtle in his reminder that she should be thankful that ‘this’ is the extent of tonight’s disarray. It certainly beats last year’s New Years celebration and that alone is something worth praying for.[break][break]

“Senon.” Fernando repeats the name to help commit it to memory. He has to since he’s never met the man before. At least he can’t recall as such. “Unfortunately, the answer is no.”[break][break]

There was a sigh of relief now that the other pokemon were gone. Last thing he wanted was brutes handling such a situation. They were great and making sure the tauros went no where, but these were still pokemon that were just in panic. The Ranger pauses as he hears a ping from his phone notifying it is from a work person. He takes a quick second while his pokemon are handling things to read Laurence Anderson's text. Just what does he think he and the rest of them are doing? Taking a juice break?[break][break]

With a simple 'working on it' text back as he listens to the other amusement on his joke. And Salem claimed he was terrible at them. "Why not let him see the crazy now so he knows what he's getting into?" it was an almost genuine question as he doesn't get relationships. Though at the same time he cares very little for them as a whole, let alone for the ex-beast that made his nerves go up. So for now he's just small talking as he watches the other seem to bring out their shiny Tauros which seems to intrigue the others in the area. [break][break]

"Keep with that if you don't mind, maybe others will follow," he ask and hopes as he'll make sure to follow along to try and urge other Tauros to join the little parade.

cait immediately fumbles with her response, failing to elegantly maneuver past this particular 'obstacle'. she more than appreciated the man's willingness to come to her aid, but she was aware that senon wouldn't fancy the idea of meeting fernando face-to-face.
