^{A LARGE FIRE has started to burn in a shadier part of Slateport: the abandoned warehouses. Authorities believe this was caused by turf wars by local gangs. Right now, Slateport's firefighters are requesting all the help they can get, for many of the buildings are old and flammable.}

Who caused the fire didn't matter as much as putting it out.

Vandalism was so commonplace in this slice of Slateport, that arson didn't even seem like a reach.

Starmie was amendment as ever. HYDRO PUMPING gallons by the second as she hosed off the blazing buildings.

Considering she hadn't been out for a while she made the most of her time flexing her ability while she could.

Seemingly the best part was that she didn't have to hold back the water pressure given the buildings were all but destroyed anyway. If the arsonists fire and the water-types water battering destroyed the buildings in full, the land could be plowed of debris and new buildings reestablished.

Who started the fire would matter a lot more then. For now though, Sénon just enjoyed the show and minded the splash zone.

Now they were in need of Water-types. Which was easy enough, considering that Lars had a lot of them—but only one would fit the bill.

Everyone else in his squad needed some finesse and extra training before they were deployable around other humans and such, but he was confident Ryujin would get the job done.

So there was a huge-ass fire down at Slateport. This normally would’ve been handled by the Slateport Fire Department, however the fire—

Had seemingly grown in size and was getting too large to be controlled by the main squad.

Hence the need for Pokémon to come down and assist.

Off went Ryujin the Swampert, head held high and summoning a powerful Rain Dance to assist with the efforts. While she was at it, she took aim and released a Hydro Pump to help quell some of the flames that were starting to spread across one side of the outer walls of the warehouse.

Chloe had been to busy with other ranger duties to stop and help put out the fires that have been rampaging in slateport, the best solution she came up with was to count on her pokemon to stop it. A few hours prior she had dropped off her starmie nebula with one of the fire fighter crews, trusting that her pokemon will work hard to battle the flames. “Right nebula, counting on you!” Chloe departed with a wave, rushing to leave to meet up with other rangers.

Nebula along with other water type pokemon were sent to deal with the large fire, the fierce flames were intimidating but there were other water here, they were all working together to take down the flames. Feeling reassured Nebula released a powerful surf the move did a good job in dosing down some of the flames, but the fight was yet to end..

The water canine was dropped off. Vaporeon huffed at being expected to do actual work. Why did it matter to him if some humans decided to fuck up and play with fire? Sounds like they needed to learn from their mistakes and stop acting like idiots! You didn't just mess with this shit. Idiots. They deserved to have their stuff burn down.

But also his trainer was expecting him to deal with the problem. Ew. Reluctantly, he used his own water type moves to shoot jets of water at the fire. If it was expected of him then he may as well just get it over with.

Kermy, the Poliwhirl had been sent out to help with the fires. The Ranger Josh Dragomir was pretty used to this kind of work, especially after the forest fires that had sprouted during the war that had just passed by. It appeared that his firefighting days were far from over. He just hoped that they could get this out before it spread... It wasn't that the abandoned warehouse was important, but if the fires spread, it could overtake a great deal of Slateport. And that could spread to more civilized areas, and well... He didn't want to think too much about it.

the vaporeon finds itself alongside a lot of water-type pokemon. contrary to what other pokejobs entail, the eeveelution gets one of the more straightforward jobs it can have as opposed to what its friends did before: just spew out water at the fire like what he does best.

the burning building was a big target for him. as soon as everyone else fires their moves at it, the vaporeon takes it as a signal to copy what everyone else does.

from its mouth, a jet of water sprays at the fire, contributing to the actual extinguishing of the fire of the burning warehouse. he feels like such a responsible member of society for helping save lives and have such an honorable job.

Although both Katherine and Milotic are late for the party, they are here just in time to lend their aid where it was still required.

Not foreign to these sorts of jobs, Kat knew that these public roles required her to put up an act akin to a super-hero from some dumb television show. To win the hearts of the people, they need to be kind, helpful, and all-mighty. A small fire is the least of the woman’s worries, but for the chance that this story will be covered by a journalist, she’s willing to waste her time here.

A weakened SURF surges forth and douses the persistent embers with water, finishing the job that others were occupied with until now.
