their words clash unintentionally for dominance, and greyson backs down, allowing the hot-head to answer first. she shrugs it off, though not literally, and insists she's fine. yet the slowly growing pool of crimson beneath her stained fingers say otherwise.

"ellie will be okay. she's just tired. you, on the other hand, could use a little TLC." he goes for the bag that was left on the ground, taking out a small first-aid kit.

always be prepared.

"you probably dislocated it," greyson says, moving closer. "if you continue using it you could permanently damage the socket." he reaches out with two hands, but stops.

"i dislocated my arm back in high school. hurt like hell, but i can help you get it back in. that cool with you?"

Her fingers twitch, and it hurts. Blood is slick against her fingertips and she winces, tilting her head back to suck in air and blink away the pain. He wasn't wrong, she needed help. [break][break]

"That's.. that's good to hear.."[break][break]

Greyson moves closer to her and she watches him. At first, her reaction is almost like a wounded, cornered animal- cautious and uneasy. But he's done nothing to hurt her, at least not intentionally. He offers out his hands and she can already feel the pain they will bring. It quickens her breathing, anticipation making her sick.[break][break]

"Shit.. fuck me.... okay. Okay, okay. Okay-- fine. Yeah, we need to--"[break][break]

She looks like she might cry, but she would put her hand in his and let him do his worst.[break][break]

greyson takes her hand in his, giving stormy a light squeeze.

"on the count of three," he says, "one-" greyson lifts and pushes, hearing the pop as it goes back into place. he stays nearby, offering her his presence as the pain rises and, soon, inevitably ends. it wasn't as quick as the movies.

he doesn't judge her for any tears or cries; he knows the pain well.

"we should get out of here," greyson says softly. "are we nearly out?"

The squeeze was a warning more than it was reassurance. It provides her a moment to suck in a breath before pain splices her arm. Rather than scream, the noise she makes is a low groan, like a choked sob as opposed to anything ear-piercing. She gasps as the joint falls back into place, only to be replaced with a violent throb.[break][break]

But her hand is still in his and she relies on it, burying her forehead in his chest for a moment to catch her breath. He speaks softly, breaking her out of her blinking pain. Stormy swallows, pulling away from him to hold her arm to her chest by herself. There are tears in her eyes that she doesn't let fall, and she sucks in a breath.[break][break]

"Yeah- yeah it's just a little further ahead."[break][break]

Stormy takes the lead, stepping lightly to avoid jolting her arm further.[break][break]

greyson allows the woman to rest against him. he feels the slightest tremble as the pain courses its way through her. as it reminds her. for all the strength, resolve and god-given abilities she had- she was still human.

when stormy pulls away, he sees the glisten in her gaze. even now, she sought strength; to preserve and endure. he says nothing of it. but.. a lump catches in his throat. there's a steadily rising thump in his chest that grows louder. he feels each beat.

no thoughts come to him. no useless monologues or doubts. only a feeling.

he acts on it.

before she can pull away, greyson kisses her.

She can feel that pain settle in the grinding of her teeth. A muscle in her jaw twitches with the effort it takes her to not whimper, to not speak. It truly is a reminder of everything that she still was, everything that she still held onto. [break][break]

Even still, she doesn't let it show. It has been too long of a fight to crumble under the slightest bit of pressure. [break][break]

Stormy is nothing if not dedicated to being that pillar of strength. [break][break]

The woman's brief moment of weakness is cut short as she moves to pull away from him. For a moment, she is caught off-guard by the look in his eyes. Her fingertips on her good hand yet linger on his chest, caught halfway before he, in turn, catches her.[break][break]

"Ow--!"[break][break]

Pain lances up her arm, but he holds fast. Warmth and surprise spread to her face as her exclamation is cut short. That pain is replaced with his kiss, one that she refocuses on and submits to. His boldness is well-received, and a welcome distraction from the throb in her arm, even if he had reinstated it.[break][break]

Stormy neither pushes nor pulls, thoughts and actions short-circuiting as a mess of emotion bubbles to the surface. But her hand has pressed to his chest, fingers slowly twisting to hook into fabric.

Her kiss in return would be hot, searing, a testament to the immortal flame she now held.[break][break]

greyson loses himself in the moment. his skin becomes flush as grabs her waist, pulling her closer to him. the warmth of the cavern was nothing compared to stormy's own body. her lips were soft and welcoming, yet filled with a fiery heat and burning passion. he found himself enjoying the contrast.

he held this feeling for a moment. two. enough to forget the throbbing in the back of his head. to forget the two near death experiences. to just... forget.

then, he pulls back his lips, breathing heavily. he could still taste the flames on his tongue.

he looks at her from inches away.

"i'm- i-"

he sucks in a breathe.

"wow."

Just before her skin could become hot enough to burn, Greyson pulls away.[break][break]

She is left behind, blank-faced and breathless, perhaps a little irritated, to stare back at him. [break][break]

"You're welcome. Now let's go, lover-boy."[break][break]

Her mind races with the taste of him, with the sting of her injuries, and the heaviness in her chest. All that that kiss had done was provide temporary relief to the bitterness and the longing in her heart. More than ever, now, she realized how desperately she missed Miles Sharp.[break][break]

Her good hand tightens into a fist at her side before releasing.[break][break]

"I can see the exit from here, Greyson."[break][break]

greyson takes a moment to collect himself, licking his lips. he felt... nothing. the kiss was great. but there was no other attachment; no emotion, or feeling. he liked stormy. but he didn't feel that kind of way about her.

it was good to settle that early.

"well, today has been.. something."

he blinks at the now darkened sky above, sighing. greyson was exhausted, in pain, and begging for the sweet release of a good nights sleep.

"thanks, y'know, for guiding me through. probably would've been a lot longer of a day without you."

he reaches into his wallet, pulling out a trainer card that he hands her.

"here. in case you're ever looking for a friend."

his eyes widen for a moment as one of his capsuled pokemon release themselves. ellie, his comfey, reappears. she looks slightly better, though still a bit pale.

her small form glows a soft-pink and nearby flowers band together around stormy's upper arm. relief would begin to immediately take over as the cast-like FLORAL HEALING gets to work.

ellie gives stormy a small smile and wave before she returns to her rest.

"i'd leave that on for an hour or two. make sure the shoulder sets right."

he smiles.

"see ya around, stormy."

with a small salute, greyson continues onwards.
