Zac had spent all day setting up his house for the Fuggroomsmen Pyjamarriage Brodown (Fuggdown).

He lived in a discontinued Charja-Cola factory, and once the mixing tanks had been removed the place was pretty roomy! "Not bad!" he said, checking the rafters for Pidove. They were all gone. Aside from the huge, twisting pillar of Zarude vines growing out of the floor, the building was clean as anything.

Zac had bulk ordered a mountain of pillows and mattresses, and they were all set up against one wall. Nearby, there was a 'living room' with an old TV set up, showing the title screen of some ancient videoed games. Zac had gone out of his way to grab some classic titles to play with his friends. He had MINIOR, EKANS, and even FROAKER.

Behind the lounge room was a table made from empty cola crates and covered in sugary snacks, chips, and a selection of non-confrontational sodas. It wouldn't be enough to sustain their fuggathon for a whole night, but everyone had promised to bring some food and entertainment.

kyle arrives at a venue, a single strap of his backpack hanging by his shoulders. it's his handy dandy storage for things he might need in case things go wrong, which was probably needed given the people invited. he stares at the place, and then to the person in the middle of the room.

"you seem, uh, excited."

behind him was his urshifu carrying a box. he couldn't bring his tv despite his disposable income in case noah wants to watch some telenovela or something, but he brought a gaming system. he opts for an older platform since at least half of them were boomers.

he guides his pokemon in and sees the set up zac had. "wait, you still have a working condition model of this?" he exclaims, surprised to see it. "it's so hard to find these over the internet!"

kyle quickly races for the seat and plays the ancient game, seemingly amused by its archaic charms, all while his urshifu stands, watching his trainer.

"heeeeeeeey! hope i'm not too late!" kaz called out as he approached the giant plant with his buzzwole in tow carrying a large bag on its back as kazimir held up a six pack of zapsi. "yo i've brought snacks for this thing, got all kinds for everyone! zac you got a place to keep them nice and fresh in this big place?!" there was probably some sort of line he was crossing bringing charja-cola's own sworn nemesis into this hallowed ground of charja-goodness, but kazimir was never one to really mind pushing the buttons of corporate entities, even if zac was a major representative of one of them.

fuggers before cola and all that.

as the buzzwole squeezed itself into the building it dropped its load and out poured a cooler filled to the brim of various zapsi flavored sodas, a few beers here and there, as well as two whole duffel bags worth of chips, candy bars, some energy bars, even rage candy bars, what looked like a rotisserie farfetch'd and even some frozen pizzas. it was quite the haul. "ain't no fugger gonna last a chance of staying up all night without a full stomach. working at that little dog cafe really got me in the foodie mood lately, hope ya guys don't mind me manning tonight's kitchen later on."

Not long after Kazimir Wynter and kyle lopez arrives, so does Chu-e. He has a large pink overnight bag over one shoulder, in Skitty print of course, filled with clothes and other fun things. In his hands are a few stacks of plastic containers. One of them, of course, just has weed brownies, but one has a smores dip to warm up later and the other a fuckload of garlic knots he had made earlier.

"Hi Zac! Kyle! Kaz!" He says as he sweeps in, looking for some place to set his things down.

"I didn't know what to bring, so I hope this stuff is okay."

Opening up his bag, Chu-e moves his pajamas and spare toothbrush aside, taking out some gossip magazines, nail polish, makeup, and most importantly... an Ouija board! Couldn't have a mock-up of typical tween girl slumber party stuff without trying to summon some demons.

A loud bang is heard echoing from whatever passed for a front door to a Charja-Cola-Factory-turned-impromptu-party-house. Its sonorous boom is followed by a few seconds of silent as whoever stands on the other side shifts and curses like, well, like a sailor.

Finally, the front door is kicked open, revealing none other than one Skyler Dross. And it would've made for a very dramatic entrance had it not been for the crates that all but hid her torso and most of her face. The captain stumbles into the apartment on unsteady feet, giving the Ouija board a VERY wide berth before all but dumping her things on the closest mattress. Behind her, a Tentacruel carries what must've been at least half of her alcoholic stash, and which would hopefully carry them throughout the night's festivities.

"I brought booze!" She cries out cheerfully, out of breath, and to absolutely no one's surprise. "And egg sandwiches!"

Sammy had done his best to kick her out of the kitchen, but she still was the Sotally Tober's captain, damn it! And thankfully Angelo hadn't been present, otherwise he would've nipped her endeavor in the bud. Instead, a cooler stands to the side - weirdly ominous.

"Zac, Kaz, Kyle and - oh, hey Ki!" Memories of the brief conversation she'd had with Ki on a pier during Hoenn's tournament flash to the surface. Although vague, she does remember having enjoyed his company.

Arriving dead last, Angelo nudges a crate of clattering bottles over the threshold with his boot toe, arms filled with plastic containers and a backpack over one shoulder. At his side, Rover clutches the pilot’s jacket in his arms, looking more like he’s holding it as a security blanket, rather than helping. [break][break]

“Don't think we have to worry about going hungry.” [break][break]

He’d made pizza and some other snacks with Sammy, the Sotally Tober assistant cook, last night. [break][break]

The very same Gulpin he’d found upon returning home just under an hour ago, traumatised. [break][break]

It didn’t take a rocket scientist to look at the mess that the shaken – and slightly paler shade of green - pokemon attempts to clean, for Angelo to know that the cartons of eggs in the pantry were all empty. He could smell them well enough, for one… [break][break]

Even though guilt had gnawed at Angelo’s stomach, he’d been forced to leave Sammy to clean up the mess alone. Only briefly finding the time to comfort the little guy before rushing out of the door towards the disused factory. [break][break]

“I know what you’ve done.” Casually stepping beside his wife, Angelo’s gaze cuts over the assortment of plates, coolers and plastic containers that the rest of the party had provided. Voice hushed, he places his contribution down on the charja cola crates amongst a Russian Roulette of midnight snacks. [break][break]

“Where are they?” [break][break]

Wordlessly, Rover drifts after Angelo and promptly collides face first into the table edge. Unblinking, the Poipole simply floats a little higher, peeking just over the top to stare at the platters.

Everything was falling into place.

kyle lopez had gravitated towards the television games. "Yeah it's from when I was a kid! It used to be my mum's. Family heirloom I guess." Zac had always preferred outside games, but there was a certain charm to the flashing lights and big numbers. "Really? It's rare?"

Kazimir Wynter (always reliable) had brought a bloody feast. Zac and Buggle the Zeraora moved things around, piling all the food one one crate table, and all the alcohol on another. He put the Zapsi safely away in the back of his Fridge Rotom.

Chu-e Choi had packed the fun, and Zac cluelessly grabbed the Ouija board and put it next to the Monopoly. "This all looks delicious!" Zac said, sniffing the garlic knots. His mouth started to water. He gave his buddy a big hug, trying not to instinctively heal him. Not after the bite he'd gotten last time.

skyler dross kicked down the door, bringing enough booze to knock out even the most robust of avatars. It was so much in fact, that it required a dozen extra tentacles just to carry it. "Whoa! Look at this captain's stash!" Zac laughed, taking a few of the boxes from the Tentacruel and stacking them at the drink's table. "Egg sandwiches?" Zac asked, perking up. His mouth was still watering from the garlic knots, and he quickly caved, grabbing one of the triangles.

The final fugger arrived, and Zac met angelo vestri at the door. "Come on in mate! Grab a crate! Here, let me help you with those," Zac said, as he chewed on one of the egg sandwiches. Angelo's new buddy soared in, and Zac winced as the floating Pokemon collided with the table. "You all good there?" he asked, worried, but the little white and gold balloon just floated higher, seemingly unfazed.

"yeah. it's a few thousand bucks for collectors."

he continues to play the retro game, no matter how boring it was compared to modern games. most people have come after him, with his urshifu awkwardly staring at them as they come and went.

for each greeting he gets, he yells out a lazy "hey!". like a teenager during a social family gathering, he gets stuck on the couch to play video games, too absorbed to notice anything in his surroundings.

man forget snacks with all that they brought they were probably more suited to have a buffet than a simple late night meal. they were either gong to wake up with food poisoning or end up the entire night throwing up. or worse! it was hard to saw with the gaggle of fuggers that showed up. two of which were the newlyweds that already seemed like they were about to have trouble in paradise as angelo came in accusing skyler of doing something.

"i mean if you mean your guys booze stash uh...i think she pretty much cleared it out." kazimir noted as he waved his arm around to indicate all the bottles they were now surrounded with. "you guys think with this much booze we can get some drunk ghosts to come speak to us? can ghosts even get drunk? or do you have to die while being drunk to be drunk as a ghost?" these were all very important questions.

Chu-e grins and accepts the hug from Zac Ramsay, giving his own back. Sadly he can't squeeze as hard as Zac can. Maybe someday.

"Skyler, Angelo! Hey!" These people were all more Zac's friends than his own, but it was nice to be included and he liked them all well enough. It also helped he had met all of them at least once on friendly terms.

Like Zac, Chu-e also picks up one of the cursed egg sandwiches, along with one of the bags of chips that Kazimir Wynter had brought, before moving over to plop on the couch next to kyle lopez and watch him play.

"Is this that game where, if you beat a certain score, it shows the protagonist's pixel titties?" Asked, right before he chomped down.

Skyler only has to take one look at angelo vestri 's face to know he knows what she's done. For a moment she considers feigning ignorance, but she's well aware that her husband wouldn't buy it for a second - plus, she's awful at bluffing. And it isn't her style.

So instead she grins like the Meowth that ate the Fletchling and points at Zac Ramsay and Chu-e Choi , who'd already taken one sandwich each. "See? People actually like them. They're not so bad." They are, in fact, that bad. It's like saying that the ocean isn't that deep or that space isn't that big.

To be fair, Skyler's egg sandwiches had evolved. The eggs were only slightly greenish and the smell (and taste) of sulfur only really hit you when you bit into them. Not to speak of the crunch that could've been either egg shells or bits of pan that she'd scrapped too hard. And at least half of the eggs were mostly cooked. All in all, a positive development.

"What do you mean, ghosts?" She asks Kazimir Wynter , effectively distracted from the sandwiches. The superstitious sailor dares a glance at the Ouija board, feeling the little hairs on the back of her neck stand on end. Automatically her hand reaches for one of the many bottles she'd brought, popping the cork with her teeth and approaching the others. "There's no ghosts here, right?"

And then...

Skyler peeks above kyle lopez 's head at the screen, bottle in one hand and mouth somehow already stuffed with garlic knots. Ah, the epitome of grace. "There's tiddies?"

He’s too late.[break][break]

Angelo’s gaze follows a smug, blissfully ignorant, smile towards two poor, unsuspecting souls. Cerulean eyes falling upon Zac Ramsay and Chu-e Choi, munching into the sandwich with a Rattata poison filling and instantly paling – hope draining. [break][break]

There’s a reason his wife is banned from the ship kitchen and it wouldn’t be long before both men would see why. [break][break]

“Tell you what, we’ll ask them in a few hours what they think…” Angelo utters to her, voice drawled as if he already knew the answer. “You know, if they live that long.”[break][break]

He’d heard what happened to Hook and had been told plenty of Dross family tales, after all… [break][break]

“Don’t worry about him,” he responds to Zac’s concern about the Poipole, taking note of Rover’s reaching hand patting nothing but the table. He wordlessly passes a candy bar over to the Ultra Beast. “He’s always running into things, think the poison in his head leaked an’ now he’s numb to it... He’ll survive.” [break][break]

The same might not be said to the gym leader but Angelo doesn’t tell Zac that his time might be cut short. Instead picking up a garlic knot and wolfing it down. Skyler’s insult to the culinary arts didn’t stop his stomach from feeling the ache of hunger. [break][break]

Although the idea that he may have gotten used to the smell or the sight of the signature Gulpin Green Sandwiches however, is somehow an unsettling one. [break][break]

Cradling Angelo’s jacket in one arm, sleeves dragged along the floor and a candy bar Kazimir Wynter had provided clamped in the other hand, Rover hovers towards the gamers station. [break][break]

Slowly, his balloon head creeps up to obscure the television set. Glowing eyes pressed flush against the screen as the Poipole stares intently at the moving pictures. [break][break]

“Rover, down in front! People want to see the pixel tiddies.” Angelo calls around a mouthful of garlic knot as he sits down on the arm of the couch.

"Ghosts?" Zac asked, innocently. He had only just remembered that skyler dross was terrified of the spirit Pokemon. He'd half hoped that they would be able to tell scary stories, or clear out the wailing creatures that seemed to be haunting the roof. He quickly decided that, for now, the very real presence of ghosts in the abandoned factory should be kept a secret. "Nah, I don't think there's anything spooky around," Zac assured the captain.

After all, it was hardly playful banter to mention that there had been a terribly murder in this very factory almost twenty years ago to the day.

Zac checked the date on his archeologists pinup calendar.

Actually it was exactly twenty years ago that the murder happened.

"What's this about pixel tiddies?" he asked Chu-e Choi , as he joined the other watching kyle lopez play FROAKER. The little blue sprite jumped across lily pads with stuttering precision. It seemed unlikely that the creature had breasts, but you never knew with video games.
