Okay, to be fair—

Route 119 was like, literally, on the opposite side of Fortree. And he wasn’t going too far.

Not to mention he was accompanied by his two best Pokémon, to boot. Even if the familiar people of Fortree had already asked him where the bluenette was, all he could do was stick out his tongue in this cheeky manner and politely tell them all to fuck the hell out of his private business.

Besides, they hadn’t seen him this happy in ages.

Anyway…

Walking was not an option, so wheelchair it is. Even if he felt incredibly stupid.

So here he was, somewhere in the grass, with several paper bags full of Pokémon food, already having left a few nearby hoping to attract some wild ~~children~~ curious ones to come snooping by.

once again, matias appears out of the blue, following in the footsteps of a familiar legendary.

The way he’d deadpanned the last sentence really brought down the gravity of the situation on him.

A Leavanny wandered nearby, grabbing the Pokéfood treat he’d left out, taking it into its clumsy little hands before running away.

“Well, it was my intention to feed them anyway.”

still sucks, though.

when a beautifly shows up, it is immediately met with a blanket of SLEEP POWDERS that quickly overwhelms its senses. it drifts down to the ground, sleeping, only to be consumed by a pokeball shortly after.

“You know when you offer that I’m tempted to get out of the wheelchair, but I’m stuck,” he continued with a chuckle as this time, a… weird… humanoid-like… thing poked its head out of the nearby overgrowth.

“What the hell is that.”

Spotting the Pokéfood that had been left out there, the Aromatisse poked at it once, and twice, before picking it up and making a run for it. Same as the Leavanny.

“I mean, if you don’t mind moving around. I’m just out here feeding the curious children,” he remarked as he opened one of the paper bags he had with him to reveal its contents of Pokéfood.

“At least, feeding them until I see something I’m looking for.”

Up above them, there were two avians keeping watch on the humans below—a Salamence and a Braviary. They were there, yes, just lingering out of sight—for now.

without saying anything else, matias walks up behind alexei and starts pushing the wheelchair along.

his venusaur stomp closely behind, following them as they welcome a wild hoppip who lands on the largest venusaur, who just happens to be oddly-colored as well. it sits atop one of the petals, bouncing up and down with each step the grass-type takes.

“If I could get up and walk right now, I totally would,” he began with a bit of a huff. “I feel perfectly fine. Alas, my PT and my boyfriend said ‘no walking’ so I’m stuck here.”

The same chipmunk cheek-face appeared once more, which very nearly caused him to miss a Dwebble that came waddling out looking for food.

Seeing the Dwebble reminded him of something, though. He wondered…

Reaching into the paper bag he had, he pulled out a Pokétreat and held it out for the crustacean to take—but obviously with them around it was going to take a bit of effort. Instead of waiting for the other to approach, he instead placed the treat where he was, hoping that the Pokémon would come closer instead.

“I’m not going to bite you or do anything, honest,” he said in the Dwebble’s direction. “I have more where this came from.”

Tick, tock—

After what felt like an eternity of silence, the Dwebble poked at the first piece, before eating it—and then asking for another, to which he obliged.

Eventually, after several pieces the Dwebble then tried to jump onto the wheelchair—but was instead met with a red flash of light.

and matias is only saying that because he feels influenced to by an otherworldly factor.

the wild hoppip from earlier chirps, announcing the presence of an amoonguss not too far from them. all three venusaur nod at the same time only to send out a cloud of SLEEP POWDER. it falls asleep soon after, not eveng etting a chance to CLEAR SMOG.

“Sixty fucking days, though,” was all he said, the same chipmunk cheek expression on his features as the Pokéball that now contained the Dwebble was whisked away—and some more Pokémon came wandering about on the scene.

Hilariously, he already had a Dodrio, so…

“Wait, hold up, lemme feed the Cerberus first,” he said as he dug out exactly three Pokétreats and left it near where the Dodrio was grazing.

There was another Pokémon that caught his attention not too far away from where the three-headed bird was now consuming the treats—and apparently squabbling, as the species tended to do.

“Looking for that one?” he gestured at the Lotad.

but then again, matias isn't the one strapped to a wheelchair. if he stops to think about it, not being able to walk for sixty days does sound dreadful.
