After the untimely demise of his dear nameless Bronzong to the incessant heat of Project Exodus’ furnace, Team Rocket seems to have even more to ask of him. Not that he minds, honestly. Not if the goal is one worth losing an asset. Not if he will get something in return.

"You're asking me?" That's the thing with hierarchy. One dictates the other. That is the way. And even though his 'ranking' means next to nothing, it's interesting how he was asked. Maybe it's supposed to be a gesture of good faith, but he's not entirely impressed by the show. He doesn't offer a response after that, but he too is eager to spelunk the dilapidated husk that was New Mauville, and so treads forward albeit cautiously for now. A Dugtrio follows.

Mars can’t help but laugh at the question, even if it’s a sound that lasts only a couple of seconds. Was it a gesture of good faith? Not really, but he simply doesn’t care for playing the despot.

This time, he’s talking to the Delphox by his side, the pokémon responding by hitting the small Blitzle with a SHADOW BALL. It does damage, but not too much. Not to an irreparable point.

Right. As they delve into the lost city, Martin takes charge of a Blitzle peacefully roaming, meanwhile Adrian snakes his way towards another corridor. When he arrives, he disturbs a nesting Skarmory. Oh, great. Dugtrio couldn't reach it once it began flying around, but as it came crashing in for a FURY ATTACK...

Dugtrio become engrossed in his dark aura, executing a SUCKER PUNCH as it came hurtling in for it. For every pass it made as one of the trio, the other two made sure it received a swift reprisal. Eventually they tired it out, and after confirming its passivity thereafter, Adrian chucked a pokeball at it. With any luck, that was the end of that.

Watching a Dugtrio fight a Skarmory sure is something else, but of course Mars didn’t bother with telling his Delphox to help. That was all on Adrian.

"That so?" He hadn't heard much of the research project. Only on accident had Rowan deigned to mention it by name. Exodus was a helluva name for a project that was purposefully melting down living pokemon. It seemed they were the ones in desperate need of a means to escape their plight. A Magneton approaches from around a corner while hovering low to the ground like a roomba.

It stopped short of them, giving Adrian a chance to lob a pokeball at it on a bunch, but the creature wriggled free. Guess it was a bad hunch. Aggravated by the attempt, it charges a powerful attack that Dugtrio interrupts with another SUCKER PUNCH once it had its attention, it burrowed underground using DIG to evade its attacks, eventually wearing it out enough to be captured.

"Maybe they won't need another, then."

Exodus. There are a lot of reasons to question the latest project of Rocket’s finest scientific minds, and a lot of reasons to doubt anything of value will come of it. Mars has never been one for blind faith, after all, but he also isn’t one to waste a good opportunity when it's right before him.

"You're probably right." The scientific method wasn't something that could be boiled down to a single experiment. Research was conducted over years, if not decades. Most circles wouldn't except something as fact unless it was tested again and again to make sure the conclusions were consistent. He doubted the Exodus project was any different; why should it be?

Adrian returns the Dugtrio to his pokeball and sends out the Magneton when he notices another Magnemite. Its MAGNET PULL makes it impossible for the pokemon to escape, and eventually he confines it to a pokeball of its own. After taking a moment to consider the research further, he decides to see what Martin knows.

"Any idea why it's called the Exodus Project?"

While Martin handles the Togedemaru, Adrian roams the hallways unimpeded, catching the glimpse of a Minun's tail darting around a corner. Given their mission, he had no vested interest in it and left it alone.

Said Togedemaru jumps out towards the Delphox as if a spiky ball, and neither the pokémon nor the banker are very impressed by the sight. Mars turns towards the Fire and Psychic type and simply nods,and that’s all it takes for a FIRE BLAST to hit the poor porcupine.

For a second, Mars considers kicking it as if it actually were a ball, but resisting the urge, he throws a pokéball.
