Oh, Barnaby knew exactly what game he was playing.

It was one of his favorites.

"Please?" He repeated, a thrum of amusement threaded in his voice.

That wasn't the 'Yes, sir' he'd expected her to quiver out. He held her gaze for a moment or two, letting the question linger. Then, he leaned in again, and whispered against her ear...

"What are you begging for, Summer?"

Barnaby seemed pleased with her answer, but he didn't let her go. Not yet.

Summer shuddered when she felt him speak against her ear. She had to get out of here. Or else she was going to explode on the spot.

She pushed against his wrists, freeing herself from his restraint. She wouldn't give him such a pleasure as to her answer. Not yet.

Instead, she invaded his space, pushing him back against the wall, lips merely inches apart. And yet-

"I expect to see you at my home in Mauville Hills. Eight o'clock, sharp."

Summer stepped away, picking up her abandoned knife and sliding it away. She walked past the stalemated Pokemon, beckoning Surtur to follow her.

"Don't be late."

And she vanished from the cave.
