Just as he has grown accustomed to being cautious too, although that’s more of a lesson the banker had learned a long time ago. It would be bad if people saw someone as good and honest as him hanging out with the newest scandalous publicly confirmed Team Rocket bad boy, no?

”There’s a lot of weird shit going on.” He’s as calm as ever, his own manner being a more casual one being that he’s in company of someone he has come to consider a friend. The Unown, on the other hand, seem to be distracted by a nearby sound, and through their psychic link they soon show Mars what it is: a Sawsbuck. They go to it, and as they do, Mars nods towards them.

It’s natural for others to hold a certain grudge against the Unown that had accompanied Father Winter when the assassin had played his murderous tricks on them, but Mars himself has his own opinion regarding the Symbol Pokémon.

Instead, a small yet ever so cantankerous pokémon appears from among the bushes, running towards them as fast as its little legs will allow. Apparently, Adrian has no idea what it is.

As his surname would perhaps imply, the banker is more than familiar with the region from which his ancestors come. ”That’s a Capsakid. They’re like pests in the Asado Desert. Never seen one in Hoenn before, though.”

Kalos, Unova and even Kanto had some sights he'd only seen in photos, and Paldea was a distant dream. As a kid he'd entertained enrolling in Naranja Academy for its prestige, but it never panned out. Some people travel more, some people travel less, that’s just how it is. Although, admittedly learning that Adrian may be among the latter does leave Mars wondering if this has anything to do with his interest in collecting pokémon from all over the world. Then again, that sure isn’t the case for Mars himself.

Anyway, back to Capsakid…

”They used to kind of freak me out as a kid. A lot of traditional Paldean dishes use grinded Capsakid teeth. They make food spicier, but it’s creepy.” He’s still not too fond of that, but then again, Paldean cuisine is pretty damn nice – pokémon teeth aside.

While such thoughts cross Mars’ mind, the pair of Unown meet another levitating pokémon: a lonely Klefki. Apparently, they have no intention of attacking it, so Mars decides to let them be. What could go wrong, no?
