At first he hesitates, but it seems the other trainer (MATIAS SILPH) has run afoul of a Sandyghast. Were they some helpless kid at the beach, he might've been a little worried.[break][break]

He's careful in his choice of pokemon. A GOLBAT releases from its pokeball, and after a meticulous battle confusing and weakening the wild pokemon, Adrian is able to snatch it with a well-placed pokeball. "...A Bramblin, huh?"[break]

just his luck to get stuck with this sandygast while the other trainer finds something he's been looking for. even from that far away, his pokedex is able to scan and tell him that it's a bramblin, one of the latest encounters from paldea.[break][break]

with no need for a sandygast as he already has one, he ignores it even when it SHORES UP. he turns away, hoping for another encounter soon.

from the sand rises another, this time a nosepass, ZAP CANNON at the ready. but it never fires as tauros interjects with its SWAGGER, confusing the nosepass enough to cause it to sink back into the sand.[break][break]

Did that mean he'd caught everything? Had they already completed their national pokedex, and then some? Rather than press the issue, he's liable to turn his attention away for a moment at the sound of rustling sand. He's able to fend off a pesky GABITE trying to get the jump on him, relying on his Cacturne once more. With it subdued, he lobs a pokeball at it.[break]

his explanation is cut short when he steps on a shroomish, quick to pull his foot away to avoid its EFFECT SPORE. he takes many steps away, fine to just avoid it.
