It was awfully domestic, but Penelope wouldn't realize that until she made her way back home. It would be through a strike of realization and embarrassment and light thankfulness that she remained clueless in front of him, because the moment it all came together, there was no denying the pink that pinched her cheeks.

The shame and guilt would only roll in after, as memories of her time spent with CIAN MAHER would bring the question of whether this was truly a spur-of-the-moment invitation or some innate desire to fill the void he'd left behind.

But, for now, she remained naive to it all. Too quickly satisfied by his agreeance, then too quickly horrified by the tease that followed.
