Ordinarily, Cillian's strategy was an all-out-offense. His shadow Pokémon were powerful predators, capable of overwhelming many opponents before they could settle on a strategy of their own.[break][break]

Opening the large, golden lock held in place by chains, it falls with a thud as soon as its tumblers release. Within is a large, dimly-lit chamber covered in pooling water no more than inches deep. While it will not impede movement, it will make stealth almost impossible. Your footsteps echo loudly in the large, rectangular chamber illuminated by ghostly, purple wisps. On its far side is a slab-covered door frame with the wavering image of a Dragapult's head.[break][break]

Before you have time to ponder its purpose, a similar slab closes shut behind you and Shalin, a similar glyph covering on its face. Echoed Dragapult cries rumble within the chamber, four barrages of heat-seeking DRAGON DARTS headed for you and your Pokémon. You turn toward their source: an unusual Dragapult with four heads. Four sets of horns, four brains, and most frightening of all, four times the firepower.[break][break]

Though only pixels on a screen, Cillian is still impressed by the rendition of the four-headed Dragapult. It reminds him of the abominations that passed as fossils in Galar. It clearly shouldn't be alive, yet here it was.[break][break]

He considers his options, brief.[break][break]

To reflect the projectiles seemed the strongest choice, but potentially deadly if they messed it up. With boosted evasion, however, driving them into each other seemed logical.

Your preparation and ROGUISH DEXTERITY serve you well, rolling beneath one of two of the DRAGON DARTS as they attempt to sandwich you! They explode harmlessly, giving you an opening to sever one of the phantom's heads! What was once a four-headed dragon is now a three-headed one, Though its firepower has decreased, its ferocity more than makes up for the loss. The severed head begins to float, launching Dreepy missiles like clockwork. Furthermore, the detached head seems to be flickering between the material and ethereal faster than the eye can see, rendering it impossible to attack.[break][break]

To make matters worse, as if on cue with the dragon being reduced to three heads, metal spikes emerge from the northwest and northeast corners of the floor, reshaping the battleground and restricting the space you and Shalin have to dodge both the main Dragapult's and the floating head's Dreepy missiles.[break][break]

Growing tired of your presence, the main body lights up its long tail and attempts to blind you with a strobe-light CONFUSE RAY.[break][break]

Regardless of class, staring at the light of the Dragapult's tail seems like a poor choice. So he opts for the potential to get some damage in without confusing himself; even if he missed, at least he wouldn't wind up afflicted.[break][break]

Your Pokémon's ranged attack strikes the phantom dragon in its most vulnerable spot: its soul gem, the crystal housing its essence. The CRITICAL HIT causes cracks to form, only getting larger as the ghost writhes in pain. The recoil of a three-pronged series of FIRE BLASTS, and the blazing shrapnel they create, whiz toward you and Shalin, knocking both of you off your feet. Fortune smiles upon you; you slide to a stop near a row of spikes, your head grazing the flat sides of two of them as they are fully extended.[break][break]

The physical manifestation of the ghost's essence shatteres into pieces. With nothing holding it to the material plane, it and its detached head roar, the creature vanishing into the ethereal. The slabs locking you in recede, Shalin excitedly leading the way to a small chamber with an eldritch glow in its center. Floating above the center of a dais with the likeness of a SPectrier embedded within is a purple medallion whose front side is engraved with a similar carving.[break][break]

"That's it! Shalin cries, the adrenaline rush from at last locating the seventh medallion staving off the stabbing pain of her wounds. The moment she touches it, all her wounds and pain disappear. The color of the light she is surrounded in is so dark that some may not even call it light. "That's seven! One more and I'll at last be able to open the Halls of Origin beneath Sootopolis!"[break][break]

You got the SPECTRAL MEDALLION, one of the Medallions of Eight! A relic of the divine strength of the Crown Monarch's ghostly steed, its existence bridges the gap among the material, ethereal, and astral.[break][break]
