The smoke starts out as possible dry ice fog. Nobody moves. The coughing spreads slowly but gradually until the first person passes out. Then another. By the third, there's screaming as people are trying to move away from the POISON GAS. [break][break]

Comms go off nonstop as chaos begins to take over the rally. Movement buzzes around Winifred, as she tries to continue with her speech before announcing a quick break while they try to disperse the gas. [break][break]

Security moves to cover the woman, while Paxton eyes the crowd as it begins dispersing. A spot of purple moves forward on the shadows. It flashes, gas surrounding it and pulsing outward as it seemed to double its efforts to hasten the reactions. [break][break]

"Cassidy, firing at a source of gas." He warned as he locked in on the strange creature, the cover of the crowd dissipating as more and more people choked on it. He pulls back the trigger aiming towards the red flashing on the front of the thing's body.

Under the cover of gas, more assailants pull through. Paxton lets out Arber, holding her out for back up as more and more people choked on the gas and others were taken out in surprise of the sudden surge of grunts. "Prep for the worst!" He ordered as the blue Florges spun around once before putting her delicate hands together and calling upon WISH on Mayoral Candidate. [break][break]

Paxton's focus stays on the strange, almost grinning robotic creature. For a moment he blinks, cold as he recognized that thing. Back in POSTDORM, he'd seen such a strange creature approach Colton Boothroyd . "Not...another paradox thing?" he hissed suddenly even more alert than before. [break][break]

Shining, glittering lights seemed to push back and blind those closest to the action. Arber yelps in surprise giving Paxton just enough time to close his eyes against the worst of the flash before opening it back up and squinting as he urged his vision to level out. "Fuck, my sight picture-" he hissed, grip tight on the rifle as he takes aim as the unknown assailant. He sucks breath in, holding it tight as he yanks back on the trigger. Follow through is shit, it's not precise enough. Not dead center. But- Wait a second-

He hits. He knows he has. The person is pushed back but there's no spray of blood. They don't fall to the ground. Kevlar? Body armor? He frowned. What the hell kind of body armor were they packing? The casing goes flying out of his rifle and he begins to load another round when the Gengar moves into view. [break][break]

"Shit!" He hissed. Arber is returned but he doesn't have time , Paxton is already grabbing his rifle and running. He half slings it on his shoulders ass he takes off as the Z MOVE slams into the edge of the roof. The building rumbles following the explosion. [break][break]

The roof starts to tilt downwards and he desperately pats himself for Hopper's pokeball. The Porygon beeps erratically as gravity shifts and Paxton began struggling to stay on his two feet as the roof caves into the top from and sloughed off the side into the streets. Before Paxton can drop, Hopper TELEPORTS him to a different roof. It's not another nest but at least he's no longer falling off the roof top. [break][break]

The police as moving Winifred out, pulling her into a safe have and covering her under the flames and bubbles of pokemon to push back the Rocket swarm. [break][break]

"Escorting Fenwick to Rally Point Alpha!" the static filled comms go off as Paxton catches him breath. "Hopper, TRI ATTACK!" he ordered as he scrambled to the edge to find Zev Harcourt again and try another shot. "Engaging in suppressive fire!" he said into his radio if it even still worked as he tried to lock on to them through the chaos and the smoke from the last attack.

Winifred Fenwick is secured, but not quite safe yet. Not when the fighting was still going on and he could still hear screaming. Civilians and league alike. Hopper gets to work as the Gengar disappears, and instead hovers in the air to focus on the police. Pokemon still attacking the officers were rudely shoved over as the normal type began using PSYCHIC liberally to push back the grunts. [break][break]

And then the action shifts. Grunts begin scrambling, disengaging the previous encounter and rushing off. Paxton wouldn't give them the satisfaction. And then Winifred's assailant finally runs into view. He can't quite hear but he can see how their movements suddenly effect the Genesect and so he picks his target once more. [break][break]

As his partner tries to slow and capture feeling grunts, Paxton goes for what he now thinks is the ringleader. He drops to the ground of the roof, perching his weapon on the side and steadying it for a real shot. Round in the chamber and slow trigger pull, the sniper shoots one last time aiming to blast Zev away, and leave his forces panicked and scrambling.

That should've been fatal. But even with Kevlar, there's no blood spray, not tearing of flesh. The ground is dry even as Zev gets up and Paxton's blood grows cold as he stares through the scope. "Hopper, move back!" he ordered, unwilling o move form his sight as the Porygon TELEPORTED back to their trainer confused. [break][break]

But it's too late- everyone else was occupied with the Mayoral Candidate and Paxton is so far away. They disappear as the casing of his last round rolls on the empty roof. The rumbling and cracking of the building beside him still there, but most people had been cleared out allowing the cement clusters and glass to fall to the street unimpeded. [break][break]

"What the fuck what that?" he murmured, finally pulling away form the scope and standing up. But they were nowhere in sight. He hadn't seen what equipment they were wearing, only that they survived. Paxton took off his own helmet and looked down at his chest and vest. He takes a seat on the roof, sirens echoing in the distance before he reports back in. [break][break]

"Cassidy, majority of the threat seems to have retreated from the plaza. Beginning to move back to safe house for debrief."
