Whether due to Cillian's cautions or his own personal reservations, Zev does not provoke the anger of the therian god.[break][break]

Their lack of aggression toward the sentient storm cloud pays off. Folding cloud-wreathed arms, it seems to judge them even as the violent weather clears. Stars wink into being behind dissipating thunderheads.[break][break]

With a final glower, and without a word, the Thundurus departs.[break][break]

"I guess we don't have whatever it wants."[break][break]

Though his voice is level, Cillian's grip is white-knuckled on the ship's rail. He fears that if he were to let go of this anchor, his legs might give out from underneath him. He can think only of black water filling his lungs, of choking panic.[break][break]

"You any good at sailing? Never been my thing."[break][break]

Hopefully, he'd played that off well enough.

Zev watched with apathetic indifference as Cillian's attempts at appeasement successfully quelled the storm. Yet the Thundurus did not grant them any boon, instead leaving just as quickly as it had arrived.[break][break]

Zev shrugged at Cillian. "I'm sure it's easy enough."[break][break]

But he had no chance to attempt sailing with his zero practical experience. The scene around them changed as the simulation came to an end. A white floor, ceiling, and four white walls replaced the open ocean.[break][break]

All that was visible was a single door.[break][break]

"Let me know if you plan to run another one of these," was all Zev said in farewell before he started for the exit.
