Despite all the efforts they put in, the train had only lost its decorative covering. He feigned the gesture of frustration but deep down, he didn't actually care about the casualties. You had to break a few eggs to make an omelette, as they say. Eyes fell upon the Iron Bundle that ascended the tree like a star. As it dug through its bag, all Schuyler could do was prepare for the worst. And just like that, the creature plucked a z-crystal out of its pouch. He'd seen how impressive luka chêne's z-move could be, ergo he could only assume the worst of the Iron Bundle. With trinity beckman back into the fray, he cocked his head at the tree.

"Seems it wants to be the star of the show," he commented. "Forget formulating plans, we have to do anything and everything we can to get that Iron Bundle separated from that Z-Crystal. Take down the tree, scale it, do whatever you guys think is necessary. But let's keep a level of communication."

He knew however that robin coello's concern would likely fall with the victim's of the train wipeout, and he couldn't blame her for following her civic duty. But something told him it would be easier to go at this all with just about everything they had and dogpile the holly jolly hazard.

While on one hand, his Ditto-Bundle served as a distraction, his Goodra served as the retriever. The Ditto-Bundle continued to dance around, and from its own bag, it pulled out a PRESENT to fling at the Iron Bundle that stood at the top of the tree. While the Ditto-Bundle continued to fling presents all about, his Goodra that had sat on the sidelines slipped in with a SHADOW SNEAK, but rather than attacking, it attempted to pluck the Z-Crystal away from the Iron Bundle's flippers at the top of the tree and reconvene with the group below.

Goodness, the Iron Bundle was literally unstoppable.

There were no obvious solutions. He was bringing out a Z-Crystal, which means things were only going to get more dire. After hearing her teammate insist on open communication, Robin considered if she was willing to share the destiny bond idea. She didn't want to use it, as such a lowly strategy was unbecoming of a Ranger and totally unfair to Gengar. But... Iron Bundle was going to hurt more people.

No, she couldn't give in just yet.

"Snorlax, use Giga Impact. We have to stop him from using the Z-Crystal." Snorlax obeyed, launching giga impact at the Iron Bundle. Meanwhile, Gengar's attempt to put him to sleep had not worked. Louder, Robin said: "We need to stop the train first and foremost. We can fight Iron Bundle like usual, but letting the train loose on civilians is just going to lead to a catastrophe. Gengar, use shadow ball on the train!" Gengar seemed unhappy with the decision, preferring to fight the ice type, but he launched shadow ball at the train to try and derail it anyways.

Once the train had been “dealt” with, Trinity paid it no mind. Her mission was on the rowdy day ruiner. She turned her attention to the Paradox Pokemon just as it began to brandish a Bundlinium…Z? She wasn’t sure what the crystal was called EXACTLY, but the girl knew it would be bad whatever it was. It would be then that a member of the group suggested open communication… before acting on his own. Trinity’s eyes narrowed slightly as she glanced to the rest of the group, noting the pause on the girl Ranger, before taking action herself.

[break][break] “Zoroark, use Agility and help out that Goodra.” Trinity gave the order firmly and was met by a solid salute from her partner Pokemon before it disappeared in a blur of motion. While the white Zoroark scaled the tree, its body would shift into the shadows courtesy of its Illusion. Hopefully between the camouflage and the newfound speed, either the Zoroark of the Goodra would be successful in their objective.

[break][break] Trinity didn’t stop there, though. “Cubone, use Fling.” Upon her Trainer’s command, the young Cubone would rush to a pile of… Trinity wanted to call them decorations, but it would be more accurate to describe the pile as “rubble.” The child-like Pokemon would thrash about with her bone club, knocking piece after piece of rubble towards the Iron Bundle haphazardly.

Luka has to bite back a shout of frustration when the Iron Bundle escapes their restraints and flies off into the pines, like some kind of sick partridge in a pear tree. And not only is it still free and ready to wreak havoc, but the train is still going! [break][break]

She stares up at the Iron Bundle, strawberry lips pursed in a frown. It’s smug aura mocks her.

”Ugh! W-what are we supposed to do now? This thing is basically unstoppable!”[break][break]
schuyler tate once again takes point in their fight, with robin and trinity beckman quick to follow up, so she ought to do the same. Until now, she’s refrained from attacking the robot directly, perhaps hoping that they might come to a peaceful resolution. But it’s quickly becoming obvious that violence is the only answer. In that case, they’re gonna pull out all the stops.[break][break]
”Bonbon, keep following that train! Help out Gengar, and do whatever you can to slow it down!” Her Lopunny nods and races off in a fluffy blur, delivering yet another hi jump kick to the damaged train in the hopes of wrecking it for good. Meanwhile, Luka and her Sylveon turn to the Iron Bundle.[break][break]
”They’re right…it can’t use that crystal! L-let’s go all out, then!”[break][break]
Sugar plants her feet firmly in the snow as a Springtide storm brews around her. Flurries of snow fly around them like turtle doves, caught in the whipping wind along with what appears to be flower petals. This frankly adorable display is launched directly at the iron bundle, perhaps with the hopes that the strong winds will tear the z-crystal from it’s grasp, or at least pack a decent punch.[break][break]
And while the storm rages, Sugar’s ribbons extend again, taking a direct approach as they try to snatch the z-crystal right from the robot’s flippers![break][break]

his gaze returned then to the iron bundle perched upon the christmas tree as it wielded a z-crystal threateningly, which meant in no way was anyone done here yet. in fact, they were likely about to witness the grand finale.[break][break]

schuyler tate ’s voice hit his ears once more and he glanced over briefly at the guy who had called him ‘cowboy'. communication. what did it mean? as pokemon began to scale and descend upon the iron bundle from above, he commentated, ”looks like everybody’s goin’ for the top.” he would have gone with the take down the tree method, but they’d clearly already committed as a group.[break][break]

Obliging their trainers, both Gengar and Lopunny left, running after the train. Would their efforts succeed? Or would they come up short in stopping the runaway railcar? Only time would tell, but for now, there were far more pressing matters to attend to.

Such as stopping the Iron Bundle from using its Z-Crystal.

Some tried to steal the crystal before it could be activated. schuyler tate attempted to outwit the malicious machine, using Ditto-Bundle’s Present to distract it while Goodra attempted to Shadow Sneak it away. Alas, the aforementioned Present did nothing but burst into streamers and confetti, and though it was programmed to do many things, being surprised was not one of them. So, despite their best efforts, the Goodra could not loosen the dangerous gemstone from the penguin’s trap-like grip

trinity beckman tried a similar approach, except with a Hisuian Zoroark and a Flinging Cubone, and achieved similar results. Alas, chunks of rock and broken baubles did not prove the most effective projectiles, and certainly not enough to loosen its iron grip. Thus, much like Goodra, Zoroark failed in its thieving mission.

Others, perhaps fuelled by irritation, took a more direct approach - They simply had to knock out the Iron Bundle before it could do anything else. Both robin coello’s Snorlax and virgil roach’s Cubone attacked the Iron Bundle directly, hitting it hard enough to knock it off its perch and send it flying into the air. Even still, it did not let go.

Finally, luka chêne’s Sylveon launched forth a last resort Springtide Storm, the strength of the winds sending the Paradox Pokemon flying high into the air. But that, too, wasn’t enough. All of their efforts had failed. While they had done some good damage to the Iron Bundle, denting its exoskeleton and exposing the intricate machinery underneath, they had not disabled it. So, there was nothing left to stop it.

It crushed the crystal in its flipper, and in an instant, it radiated such intense Z-Power that it was akin to a reactor of pure energy. Its LED eyes glowing with killing intent, showing such pure loathing for those that stood in its way. Then, it unleashed its Z-Move.

Blows fell down like comets. Each thrust of its arm and kick of its leg sent down a frigid blast of pure force. It was a veritable hailstorm of attacks, a blizzard of sheer violence, and it was all directed at them.

Unfortunately it seemed the all-out attack on the Iron Bundle fell through. The creature was formidable indeed, but at least they'd gotten some heavy blows in on it. All they had to do now was worry about taking on the brunt of the z-move that it had unleashed. All sorts of decor came flying at Schuyler from the wild winds of the Iron Bundle's attack -- glass ornaments, tinsel, even a bundle of mistletoe. Immediately the Ditto-Bundle at his side began to try and combat the shards of ice with AIR CUTTERs. But it was far too much for the replicant to keep up with. But the question was: would the z-move come to a halt if they could continue to land blows on the Iron Bundle? It would be a two-pronged attack, an attempt to wipe out the blizzard's path while another partner pokemon made a swing at the Iron Bundle on its perch in the tree.

"Let's try to coordinate our attacks to at least get that thing from its vantage point," he remarked. "Wide hitters, take on the z-move's effect. Hard hitters, let's bring that bird and that perch down."

With the remark made, Schuyler's Pangoro readied itself to take on the tree. To make up for the attacks the Ditto couldn't take on, his Goodra fired a MUDDY WATER torrent at the oncoming halestorm. Without so much as another thought, he flashed virgil roach a smile. It seemed the man had the right idea thinking it better to take down the tree first. But hindsight's 20/20.

"Say, I owe you an apology for the cowboy comment. How about some drinks when we finally get things settled here?" A cock of his head back at the rest of the group. "That invite goes for the rest of you."

As if in tune with the resolve, his Pangoro offered a VITAL THROW at the base of the tree.

As the barrage of attacks begins, Luka dives over to her Togepi to shield her baby from harm. She crouches over him in the snow, clutching the tiny egg close to her chest as he wiggles and whines with concern. Instead of following her trainer, Sugar instead runs behind robin coello’s Snorlax, taking advantage of the normal type’s bulk to protect her from the worst of the blows.[break][break]

But Luka is exposed and defenseless, and she’s quickly buffeted by the raining blows. She winces but doesn’t release Toffee, who starts to whimper even louder with distress. His little arms start to flail, and he summons a deluge of life dew to rain over Luka and the rest of their little group, protecting them in the only way he knows how.[break][break]

Her Sylveon peers out from behind the Snorlax, watching the destruction with mounting concern. Holiday decorations are flung everywhere; their battlefield is now decorated by ribbons and pine boughs, even sprigs of mistletoe! If only a little smooch would be enough to calm the raging robot, but Sugar is pretty sure it’s mechanical heart isn’t about to grow three sizes anytime soon.[break][break]

So instead, she goes on the attack again. Still hiding behind Snorlax, she aims a devastating light of ruin towards the Iron Bundle, bathing the surrounding snow in a roseate glow.[break][break]

Their collective attacks had looked good, and they'd battered the Iron Bundle very visibly, but it wasn't enough to prevent the use of the z-move. As the ice blows started coming, Robin took shelter behind her Snorlax, which bravely widened his stance to create as large a shield as possible. Robin looked to luka chêne's Sylveon and smiled at its resourcefulness in hiding behind Snorlax with her, though they didn't have much of a moment as the Sylveon got back to work in attacking their shared enemy.

She followed schuyler tate's suggestion once Snorlax tanked the ice assault. Snorlax had some wide, environmental moves and some hard individual moves. He'd had good success in smacking the Iron Bundle around, so she wanted to do that, given that Gengar was far gone with the train. "I can sic Snorlax on the bird in a moment. Snorlax has to recover from giga impact." Her pokemon looked worn and battered, but he was the strongest of her partners, and he took the battle on without complaint.

Then, belatedly to Schuyler's offer for drinks, she added, "We should make sure we're not on the hook for the damage this guy's done before we think about celebrating." She shivered at the thought of paying a huge fine.

Trinity tightened her fist as Zoroark failed to grab the Z crystal. It was the only physical expression of disappointment she’d made, as her gaze stayed locked onto the Iron Bundle. It frustrated her that Paradox Pokemon were still relatively new, without much data to pull from. Without information on it, the girl was quickly running out of ideas. Still her mind raced, as the others attempted their own attacks into the Bundle to try and stop the unstoppable onslaught of ice and force that was inevitably fired in their direction.

[break][break]Trinity acted quickly, grabbing Cubone and diving behind the large Snorlax, sharing the idea with luka chêne and robin coello. They were shielded by the frigid cold, but the wind still whipped Trinity’s hair into her eyes. Compared to the rest of the chaos, the torrent of wind was a peaceful chance to think. “Good job on the damage.” She said to the Sylveon trainer. She meant it, but her words seemed… distracted as she cupped her chin with her forefinger and thumb. @schyuler gave some more orders, but Trinity didn’t have the coverage to fit into either. Not with the pair she brought anyway. That was when an idea struck her!

[break][break]“Zoroark!” Trinity in her eagerness climbed over the Snorlax’s back to peek over its shoulder. “Bitter Malice! Try to block the Bundle’s vision!” On cue, six balls of floating, purple energy appeared from the shadows of the Christmas tree, followed by piercing red eyes. With a roar, the Hisuian Zoroark launched the spectral energy of malice made real at the Paradox Pokemon, aiming for its eyes. Trinity hopped back to the ground and looked at her Cubone. "When I say go, I want you to use Fling and toss as much stuff up there as possible.” Cubone nodded and the two ran around the Snorlax and into the field of debris. “Go!” She yelled and Cubone ran around the broken battlefield, using its club to launch numerous objects at the Bundle. Trinity waited a moment before pulling out a PokeBall and tossing it in the path of Cubone’s club, hoping her little Pokemon could send the empty Ball right at the Iron Bundle, hoping to catch it and bring this madness to an end.

all their efforts failed. on second thought, maybe he needed to get himself a paradox pokemon.[break][break]
he winced at the inner workings exposed like the terminator. “shit just keeps goin’.”[break][break]
the z-crystal was broken, then. unlike luka chêne , roach made no move to take cover, such instincts perhaps dulled by the lingering effects of eggnog. he screamed as his hat was blown off his head, and tripped into the snow from the force of the blizzard winds. boomer flew helplessly through the air, panicked voice but a muffled cry against the rage of suddenly disastrous weather.[break][break]
when roach stood back up, his hair had been blown back and frozen at a ninety-degree angle. boomer was stuck feet up in the snow, and roach trudged over stiffly to pull him out.[break][break]
”i've had it with this fuckin’ city...”[break][break]
upon his return, schuyler tate smiled at him and he mean-mugged back–not as an attack. his mood was just shot. something softened in his eyes, however, at the mention of alcohol.[break][break]
“yeah, i could do that, i guess,” he caved gruffly. “gonna need some whiskey after this nonsense.” eggnog could wait for a day less ruined.[break][break]
at robin coello ’s suggestion that they stay and ensure they were not somehow responsible for all the destruction, he informed her, ”ain’t no ‘we’. i ain’t payin’ for shit. i got my own damages to worry about.”[break][break]

The power of the Z-Move, performed by such a ruthlessly efficient machine and bolstered by the festivities, was a sight to behold. Every strike is like being hit by the full force of Father Christmas himself. Even the efforts of schuyler tate's Ditto Bundle and Goodra could not stand against it, and both would be swatted away by the force. So, too, was luka chêne thrashed in an attempt to shield her Togepi, though at the very least, she was given a Life Dew to soothe her wounds. virgil roach was similarly unfortunate, but at the very least, robin coello's Snorlax provided some cover to help shield the others from pain.

But just because it was relentless, that did not mean the attack was unstoppable. So, summoning their resolve, those gathered prepared for one last attack to try and put a stop to the Iron Bundle.

It begins with trinity beckman's Zoroark, releasing a Bitter Malice to temporarily blind the machine. As its visual processors glitch out, that provides the window for luka chêne's Sylveon to unleash a Light of Ruin, nailing the penguin right on the shoulder joint. As the motors momentarily sputter, schuyler tate's Pangoro finds a window to toss the Christmas tree at it, hitting the other shoulder. For a precious few seconds, the Iron Bundle is unable to both see and attack.

And for the Cubone Coalition, those seconds are all they need.

virgil roach's Cubone unleashes a Bone Rush that swats the Iron Bundle down to the ground, and then, amidst a barrage of trash thrown by trinity beckman's Cubone, she's able to smuggle a thrown Pokeball through it all and hit the Paradox Pokemon, causing it to be consumed by a flash of red light.

Wobble... Wobble... Wobble... CRACK!

The Pokeball shatters, and the dazed and damaged Iron Bundle emerges once more. But the damage has been done - The failed capture was enough to disrupt the flow of Z-Energy, and all of a sudden, the machine has been left totally helpless, trying to recover from a half-dozen different malfunctions. Now's their chance to strike back!

The next deadline for this raid is 8PM GMT, 14TH DECEMBER 2023.

It was almost mad that trinity beckman had attempted to throw a pokeball at the Iron Bundle. Such a simple idea, it was a miracle that no one had thought of it to begin with. While the ball broke apart, the tool had been enough to bring the z-move to a halt. Between he and luka chêne's attacks that landed, and virgil roach's BONE RUSH that did a number on the menace. They were so close to putting this bird down for good that he could almost taste it. But even then, robin coello had a point. They needed to maintain a certain level of damage control because it wasn't as though they could cause mayhem and not be expected to pay for it later.

The Iron Bundle was no doubt already seeing stars given their joint attacks. Maybe it was best not to have his Pangoro deal the final blow. But did he have much of a choice? His Ditto fully knocked out, Schuyler was forced to recall the creature. Goodra was still holding on, as it had been one of the pair to take far less damage than its partner. They didn't have to pack a wallop on the malfunctioning bird.

Or did they?

The Pangoro hadn't forgotten how when it first tried to take down the Iron Bundle, it had been shocked, then sent flying by the damned train they worked so hard to stop. The bear stomped forward, aggressive in its approach as it raised an arm in an attempt to deliver a HAMMER ARM to the bird. It seemed to swing its attack with all the frustration the day left it with -- humiliation, frustration, and above all else, impatience.

"Seems our pokemon are about as tired of this thing as we are, let's not let this thing have the chance to even get back up."

His tone cold and resolute, he gave a firm nod to his Pangoro to make the attack.

virgil roach started a laugh out of her as he insisted he would not be paying for any damages. Hell, she had no interest in eating tomato sandwiches for the next few weeks to do so herself. She had no idea why officers and Rangers alike had not hurried to the scene by now; she knew their mobility was decent despite the chaos not ensuing for more than a few minutes. Maybe, she thought conspiratorially, this was one big test from a Ranger Captain or something, and the civilians were paid actors.

She couldn't afford to indulge in the theory. Trinity's pokeball throw interrupted the z-move capacity of the Iron Bundle, which gave them all an opportunity to curb its rampage. With Snorlax recovered, he used earthquake to disrupt the Iron Bundle or train or all of the above. Gengar then used dark pulse on the train.

For the first time in this chaos, Trinity finally felt as if something she did actually managed to work. She was slightly kicking herself that her toss wasn’t better and that the Iron Bundle actually stayed in the ball. But beggars can’t be choosers in the event of a hurricane-blizzard. The Paradox Pokemon was stunned and the fair finally had a moment of quiet since the outburst. But stunned it was, Trinity knew it was only temporary. As, it would seem, did everyone else. Trinity followed Schuyler’s lead in bringing an offensive to the metallic monster to try and bring it down once and for all. “Zoroark! Hyper Voice!” She yelled. On command, Zoroark took in a large breath of air, bringing its head back and puffing out its chest. Once the white Zoroark had gotten her fill, she let out another eerie roar, creating a shockwave of sound and force that was aimed directly at the iron Bundle with as much force as possible!
